I just finished off the first dragon. After killing it I got some message that I saved the village, also a message that I am now Lvl 2 with a new skill. Then nothing more happened, the fight screen was still up, and clicking somewhere just resulted in a message "It's not your turn yet." Screen looks like this: https://prnt.sc/lr9kam
I assume that's not the expected behaviour here.
Regarding the fight before: The pit worm took one life point from the dragon, and the dragon took all life points from the pit worm. (Maybe that's what causing the problem?)
After reloading the game, I still have my level 2, so I guess nothing important was missing after I got stuck.
