Could there be an option to disable animations or make them quicker? Specifically, the animation for spinning the wheel on weapons. It's a long animation.

This is a very rational request, and it has been discussed before. It will make things go just a tiny bit faster, which is something we all want, right? That was a genuine question, not a tag question. I mean, do we?
Here is how the dice roll works for me: I like it. It gives me a thrill there for a couple of seconds watching the wheel spinning and hoping to land on the upper 10% (cause this roll is high open ended baby!) so i can watch the next wheel spin.
The thing with options like that, keep it on or turn it off, is that everyone will turn the animation off. Even people who enjoy it, like myself, will probably feel compeled to turn it off, otherwise they may feel at a disadvantage.
I like the pace of the game, i dont think it needs to get faster in general, there other games to play if you want real fast, or a clickfest, basically most of them. OTOH, there are moments when i do get impatient. A spinning wheel when i have a chance to get a better piece of equipment is not one of those moments.
When there is no chance for improvement though, i suppose the -quite short tbh- appearence of the wheels is unecessary. A flashy text with the "no improvement possible" message would do the job fine in those cases.
Ofcourse things are always more complicated that they appear at first. Say your equipment is a +7 to +9 and youre back in the caverns, to grab a couple of healing potions and some haste scrolls for example. Opening the chests there, or identifying those swords and bows hanging on their racks, is clearly a waste of time, so removing the appearence of the wheels would be a good thing. But, if you have a couple of +7 to +9 and one +3 piece of equipment, then improvement is indeed possible for the +3 part. If you open a chest -ie you dont know the item type beforehand- and get the "no improvement possible" text instead of the wheels, where the item type is also revealed to you, this may remove part of the thrill, and, even worse, it may result to some confusion, esp to new players.
Did i just say too much on a rather trivial subject?

That was a lot of words. My point was that the spinning wheels are slow and boring. I'm tired of watching them and I would like to shut them off,

I think having the ability to click to speed it up is not a bad idea. Placing the choice into the players hand if they want to watch it or are in a rush. Especially if you already have +9 it has no value to look at the wheel or even the gear rack...

We sped up the spinner today. We also plan to add an option to auto-click the Spin button. After that we'll see if it's still annoying people.

I discovered an unintended bug today when misclicking:
When looting equipment, by not clicking the "Spin"-button but anywhere outside the lootwindow, the whole spinning process is **disabled/skipped**.
You will still get the loot with a level according to the depth.
