This is more me rambling a bit about one of the hazards that in most cases turned way more helpful than hazardous.
The purple worm.
Most of the times he pops up he actually saves me by killing enemies instead of hurting me. At one time solokilling a whole dragon. Which made me think. Any chance we get the playerability to get wormsupport after completing some special task in the dungeon.
Having him is nearly always welcome and he kinda grew on me as he is at least from my pov a valiant ally.
Bit of a selfish request but want to hear also from others how they feel about the worm. Good? Bad? Meh?
Did it help or hinder you more. General stuff.

I just spotted the new...special...worm. Did you read my mind? It's what we always needed in our lifes. <3

I didn't read your mind, but I may have read your chat. Someone suggested it in chat to another player about a week ago. Was that you? If so, thanks! It seems to be going over well. :)

This turned out a lot better than the title made me imagine. Let's just say the non-festive look of the purple worm writes its own bad pick-up lines.
Worm support already exists in the game! It's the dwarven brawler's Bellow skill. But see the Thrust/Duel thread for a little discussion on things that might replace it.
That's basically a sign that worms are good in general, but I just hate the tension it causes when you're down to the very last hit point and the only potion available is surrounded by pits. (Side remark: I've been killed once by a diving shambler that I forgot I left in the room, which is basically the same hazard but more humiliating.)

the worm has spawned next to the lich queen so many times for me. I believe he would make a good dungeoneer!

The worm. Man, I love that cuddly little beast. Especailly his "rawr" he makes when appearing. I even gave him name, which I always use whenever he appears, usually followed by "...Goddamit, not now!" or "Oh, hi!" depending on where I am at the moment.
Honestly that's also true to Caverns crawlers, Reaper and Shamblers, but to a much lesser degree, probably owing to the fact that thay appear less often than Worm.
While on many occasions he's an unavoidable HP loss when he spawns next to you, for the cost of but one leap scroll you can usually get him to clear out some enemies for you, which is more than welcome.
Aside from eliminating the enemies he's also excellent at binding the tougher foes for you to pick them off with bow, which is extreamly usefull against Mummy King (Devs, if you're listening, seriously: consider changeing it to Pharaon, not King.)
