My dear Dungeon Master and my fellow Dungeoneers,
It seems Kongregate is about to cut off most communication channels on this site until July 22. For further infomation please check the [official announcement](https://www.kongregate.com/forums/1-kongregate/topics/1916387-important-kongregate-announcement).
Dungeoneers is not on their list to keep its forum and chat alive (forum will set to read only). **RogueSword**, you are doing an awesome job. I'm on Kongregate since 2008 and I can tell that you are an exceptional developer. Your communication with your players is great and as a player I really feel you care about my enjoyment and feedback. I rarely found developers who did this so well, the vast majority seems to not really care (which is fine for someone providing great games for free) and there is also another kind of developers who just squeeze maximum profit with minimal effort (or even less than minimal effort).
The announcement says we will still be able to play Dungeoneers via Kong and you will still be able to update the game. But as the communication with your players is the base for your great work I wonder how this could work after that date.
We have just a bit more than 2 weeks left to discuss how to go on. For me the most urgent questions are:
Where else can I play Dungeoneers?
How could the communication work in the future?
Can I export my profile from here to another platform?
Do you even bother to update Dungeoneers on Kongregate? (Could really understand if not.)
Thank you for reading

If I understand correctly, Dungeoneers on Kongregate simply loads the main site (dungeoneers.com) in a frame, which means it will never fall behind on updates.
I transferred my profile to the main site without much trouble a while back, and have been taking advantage of the larger screen space since. But I still come here to post, which brings us back to the remaining question.
As this Kongregate-gate shows, things that are online don't always last forever, and there's some predictions floating around that players will have to switch sites a few times before settling down somewhere else. However it ends up, having the discussion in a centralized spot rather than specific gaming site will allow players from all platforms to join. (Or to rephrase, it will let all dungeoneers congregate.)

I tried to link my account to dungeoneers.com, but got a server error by doing so. After that the name changed to "Unlinked" with a long number behind the name.
Maybe I did something wrong, what do I have to do exactly? I guess the password will stay the one I used for the new account?
Edit:
Linking worked today, I guess the new account just wasn't ready yesterday. And to answer my own question (for other interested players): The password from the new account is still used for my linked account on dungeoneers.com.

That means a lot to us. Thank you!

Dungeoneers is on a few other game portals and as an iPad app. It can also be played directly on dungeoneers.com
As you found out, it is easy to Link Accounts from the Options menu. We encourage Kong players to keep playing via Kongregate, but for peace of mind, you can link your account to dungeoneers.com so you know it will always be there for you.
> How could the communication work in the future?
We will be adding our own forum for all dungeoneers to use. Should we call it Dungregate? ;)
Hopefully there will not be much of a gap between when this forum goes down, and ours goes up. There has been some great stuff posted here, so maybe we'll create a section of the new forum where we archive some of the Kong forum highlights. If there is anything in particular you want to save, please copy it and we'll find a home for it on our forum.
Also, we do occasionally (a few times a year, at most) send emails to our mailing list of players. If you'd like to be on the mailing list, link your account to dungeoneers.com and then Edit Profile from dungeoneers.com and add your email address. You can then go back to playing on Kong, but we'll have your email address for big announcements.
> Can I export my profile from here to another platform?
Yes, by linking accounts. Go to the Options menu, click Link Accounts, and follow the directions. Once accounts are linked, you can go back and forth, and progress is saved in both places.
> Do you even bother to update Dungeoneers on Kongregate? (Could really understand if not.)
As unekdoud said, everyone is playing the same version of the game, regardless of the portal. (Although there may be some UI differences, like screen size or aspect ratio.) So there is no need to update Kongregate specifically.
