When your income drops to zero, the pixels you have gained but not collected disappear. Zero income equals zero pixels available to collect. (The result being, if your income drops to zero you have to restart the challenge -- there's nothing to collect to *restore* your income.)
I'm assuming this is not the intended behaviour for this challenge.
