When you save and quit and then get back to game.
Some lab levels don´t get updated.
Today I quit with level 91 with adout 5% progress. When I started again it said lvl90/5% (combat)
My combat went from 1,624e12 to 1,608e12.

Yup, the lab is pretty broken. So far I never managed to get better results than before. But what happened to me a couple of times is, that instead of increasing the lvl it only resets it. So you're getting from lvl 74 with 0% done to 74 with 99,9% done to lvl 74 with 0% done (instead of lvl 75). And on top of that I also have the same bug as you, where it decreases lvls on restart.
