Description
Row out onto a dark lake with a lantern, a rod and the feeling that something below is watching.
Night Lake is a calm, eerie fishing game. Cast your float, watch it bob in the lantern light and strike when it really goes under. Fight each fish with reel and rod: keep the line tension out of the red and lean the rod against the pull. Sell your catch at the dock, buy better baits and tackle, and take on the night’s quests.
But the lake is not empty. The lantern stutters, the crickets fall silent, and a shadow longer than your boat glides underneath. Monsters need their own bait and strong gear, and can tow your boat across the water. Each lake hides a legend.

W/S row, A/D turn. Hold Left Click on the water to aim, release to cast. Click or Space when the float really goes under, then hold to reel in. In a fight keep the tension out of the red and hold A/D to lean the rod away from the fish. P pause, G tackle box, E dock shop (near the dock), B next bait, C groundbait, J quests, V field guide, M markers, N mute.

Update 1.4.1
Fixed: full screen. On some computers the game stayed small in a corner after switching to full screen, and the buttons could stop responding. Night Lake now fills the whole screen, and every button works at any size.
A calmer start. Fewer repeated messages during your first fights, a clear hint when the next lake opens, and you find out about tomorrow’s gift sooner.

When catching a fish the meter goes to 0.6m and just freezes there until the blue bar at the top empties. No matter how quickly you reel in the fish it will not actually catch it until that top bar is empty for some reason.

Thanks a lot for reporting this, it was a real problem! Until now the line could reach 0.6 m while the fish still had strength, so it looked frozen. It's fixed in today's update: a fish with strength left now fights about 2 m from the boat and tires quickly there, and once the blue bar is empty it comes straight in. Good tackle also tires fish faster now. Thanks for helping make Night Lake better!

Awesome! I love it, well done. The water have a nice realistic looking. Calm & peaceful places to visit.
While reeling, don't forget to use the ''a'' and ''d'' (when the left or right yellow arrow light-up) to kinda fight the fish to your boat.
Thank you so much, really glad you enjoy the calm of the lake! And great tip about A/D, holding the rod away from the fish tires it much faster. Today's update adds a new lake, Deadwater Mill, with its own legend, and a TACKLE sign in fights that shows if your gear is strong enough. Tight lines!

Thank's for the feedback. Hey, Did the game can be downloaded somewhere, i do not want to loose it. (oO) Can you put it on ''Steam'', for us who want to always have access to this awesome fishing game. I found that there is so much more to this game that what i saw first. I am talking about, there is 15 lakes to visit, large choice of lures, rods, markers, baits, boat, etc...). oh, and the things (ex: messages in a bottle...) that float on the lake, we can't catch them heh? if yes, how?.

Right now Night Lake plays only in the browser, and your progress is saved there automatically, so it stays as long as you don't clear your browser's site data for Kongregate. A downloadable version is something I'd love to do in the future. If that happens, I'll announce it here first. The bottles and other things floating on the water are just part of the scenery, so they can't be caught, for now. There are 7 lakes so far, each with its own fish, monsters and a legend to hunt, and more are on the way. Tight lines!
