Games where you have to "figure out" things that are nonsensical (like being able to stand in closed walls and double-jump off a ledge, but you can't jump regularly...immediate 0/5. Terrible, terrible concepts. But they're mostly unique. Only because everyone else who thought of them dismissed them.

For Blowing Smoke Badge, after you smoke follow the circle, walk behind it. It will de-spawn slower and hit the button.

The animation is really good and I like the concept of using the 'warped house' as a metaphor for mental health, but the amount of repetition required to get the exact timing right on some of these levels makes the game more of a chore than it should be. I realise that is part of the metaphor, but it reduces the fun element which is what truly makes a game playable. Being a bit more forgiving on the timing would've made for a better game, IMO. None of that makes it a bad game, just one that could have been better.

I'm all for philosophical puzzle games, but the precise timing and aim required for the puzzles in this game is infuriating and completely ruining the experience for me. First 2-5 tripped me up for a solid half-hour until I got lucky, then 2-6 stopped me again; I WANT to see where the story goes from here, but frankly, I'm on the verge of rage-quitting at this point.

Stuck on level 12/13 trying to blow rings successively, extremely buggy gui has caused me to rage quit and 1 star an otherwise good game

@jasondeegan: it's a story-based game. it has the tag "philosophical" for a reason. also, in the intro scene it tells you how to skip.

sagadragon: Holy moly, GG! You can apparently push the ring with you!
JeremyZ111: What you have to do is start turning the laser from the other way around. Head to the far left of the screen, and blow a ring to make the laser face left. Move to the far right of the screen, where the table is, and jump before blowing. This makes the laser turn upwards and hit the upper detector.
jasondeegan: This game is mostly story-based. I love the story, and I am playing for the story. Just enjoy the game.

At the start of chapter 4, for me it doesn't really work to walk. One tap and I get sent flying to the other side of the screen with a 5 second delay.

The story is far too long. I'm here to play a game, not click through, literally, 100's of times to read a story. The smoke effect is cool, the concept is good. The constant 20+ dialog conversations ruin it for me. 3/5

I got past 2-2, but 4-6 is impossible due to the fact the turret spin direction is consistent, you can the turret from the same angle and it will spin in different directions

Just replayed this game because I was reading about first written poems/stories and that reminded me of Shubshi. What a great game!

This is my favourite game on the website - either this or The Company Of Myself. One of my favourite games ever. Probably my two favourite flash games ever. A million warm wishes to you 2DArray... Eli Piilonen, Ben Jelter. and David Carney. You guys seeeriously rule. Can't thank you enough for this beautiful creation. Life-affirming... 5/5 to say the very least.

This game was really fascinating, fun exploring, figuring out puzzles . The controls are good, instructions are clear .

I hate that I need to time properly for the circle. Too much dialogue. This is nothing compared to The Company of Myself. 3/5

Vastly inferior to company of myself. Too much useless dialogue, too much lag, and in 2-2 they take out the indicator in 2-1 so i can't know how much smoke is needed to activite the switch.

I'm... I'm sorry I just can't. I literally cannot pass Level 2-5. I can't. It's the level where you have the 2 targets and the wall. I can't. If someone can tell me how to do this, I will be SO grateful. Here's the code. B79FEo

*Spoilers Ahead* I came here after playing TCOM moments before. I assumed during TCOM that Jack had accidentally killed Kathryn. As I started playing Fixation, I was dreading the end because I figured that Kathryn was going to die. After chapter 4 ended, I wondered if Thomas was going to be revealed as the killer, and that Jack either assumed he was the killer, or that he regretted leaving alone Kathryn at the end. His decision to part ways could be interpreted as him feeling responsible for her death by not being there. Having finished the game though, I think it's more likely that Jack killed Kathryn, then forgot due to his drug-induced amnesia. Either way, it's quite the tragic ending for Kathryn to have reached "the meadow" through her own actions (instead of artificially like Jack), only to disappear forever. Overall, I'm very impressed by both Fixation and TCOM. I loved the metaphors and symbols woven through the gameplay, and the story was very well done.

I wish philosophy games were less about game-play challenges. I lost interest in the story once the timing and aiming aspects of level 2-1 were introduced.

Too much dialogue makes the game impossible to finish... so bored and frustrated having to hit s for three minutes on every level just to see it.
