I think that there should be a distinction between armored targets and non-armored targets. By this, I mean to say that I felt the Machine Gun was totally overpowered. I found no reason to use the cannon at all because its damage was just too low for its rate of fire to outdo the machine gun against any target. To remedy this, I feel that the machine gun should be largely ineffective against armored targets such as tanks and turrets, but effective against infantry.
interesting. i always use mortars. Did you figure out holding fire button down shoots them further? -Leigh . . . . . I find this interesting too, as I find myself using the cannon most often: even though the machinegun is my favourite, I still find it lacking most of the time especially compared to the upgraded cannon. -Onur

It's a decent start, and obviously a prototype as there are upgrades that are completely impossible to aquire. I can't give this a fair rating without the entire game, so 3/5. It looks good though, so I'll look forward to the full game.

I like the idea and how its done. As everyone says it is too short but I played through it a couple of times to try different stuff and it's still fun. Keep it up just add more!

It was really fun, but I was really surprised when I finished the first level and it was over. 5*/5 for the fun. Make a sequel or expand it.

Oh god! I want to rate it 6 stars! It is just great! I'm so looking forward to the real game! This is just excellent!

Reminds me of the old school top-down shooters from the NES era. I really do enjoy the game, though it was a bit short. Definitely recommend adding several levels and expanding on the enemy variety and this game would be amazing. My main problem came with switching between weapons. For some reason it wouldn't go through switching quickly. If more content were added and that got fixed, I'd give it a 5/5. 4/5 for now though.

Great game. Not sure if it is possible to beat elite mode w/ so little ammo. To get highest possible score (5,000) you must destroy all enemies and take no damage. I suggest going for the rocket upgrade first then damage upgrades for each of the weapons. In between damage upgrades, speed helps out a bit. Mortar is the best weapon when you learn how to use it. Armor, cool downs, and accuracy really do not help all that much. Range upgrade seems not to be worthwhile as mortars can already shoot pretty far. To destroy most heavy enemies quickly shoot the cannon and then immediately switch to guns. For the final area take out the barracks & tank factories with mortars (hits them both) on the right and left, then worry about the rocket launcher and big guns. Hope this helps. . .looking forward to the rest of the game!
Well done, and thanks for playing. I can honestly say elite is possible. it took me 6hrs but i did it. you need a lot of upgrades so your limited ammo has most impact. you also have to hit multiple targets simultaneously with 1 mortar on occasions. good luck. -Leigh

"Sir we have destroyed the shop guard gun! Should we take all the weapons and ammo?" "No soldier just pay the dead shop owner the regular price for his things"

I'd love it if one of these games worked out a control scheme that didn't require arm twisting to work on a laptop without using a mouse.

@justinkings...read the difficulty guide easy doesn't give you money..not like money means much since you can't really buy anything first time through
I'm happy you want more. We put this out as a test to make sure we dont waste months making more levels that no one would play. It looks promising though so expect a pumped up version soon. Thanks for the feedback. -Leigh

Great game. Too short! So many upgrades to try would be great to have a second level with more cash to try out the upgrades.
Sure, we ran out of development cash.8( If this goes well the first part in the trilogy will have 4 levels and new features. (btw If you replay you keep the money and upgrades you had from the last game.) -Leigh

Avoiding missiles becomes a bit too easy with a single upgrade in engine. Consider dividing it into acceleration/top speed/brakes or just decreasing the engine bonus. Or just increasing bullet speed.
thanks, will look into it. -Leigh . . . . I think you may want to try a harder difficulty, as the enemy bullets become faster as the difficulty increases. :) -Onur

Fun game but I didn't like having to restart from the beginning after dying past the first shop checkpoint. There should be a save option

Really impressive, I'll definitely play the sequels. One problem, sometimes bullets and cannons will fly through barriers, especially when you shot while moving.
Yes we put that in as rocks are random heights and thought every so often one would get through a gap. You can use it to your advantage sometimes. -Leigh

Ah, I didn't get any money because I was on easy. Another Idea would be to do different tank types. offensive(heavy firepower, weak defense) Defensive(strong armor, weak firepower), balanced, specialty(flamethrowers and stuff) and easteregg tanks.
Yes, we had flamethrower down, nice idea. selecting a tank type would be good for multiplayer also, depending on your choice to play defensive or attacking. -Leigh
If you play the beginner mode you can't earn any cash. Try the standard difficulty. Thanks for pointing that out, we will make that clearer in the next version. -Leigh

Great game and to answer you, no it isn't very clear about holding down the fire button to shoot the mortars farther. I learned how to do it by mistake actually. Spent most of the level shooting them up close. If you could make a target move as the mouse button is held down it would make people realize that you have to hold the button down to shoot. I very very much enjoyed this game. Would very much like multiplayer action. some deathmatch, capture the flag and KOTH modes would be VERY fun! I'll be waiting for the next games. Great job
Yes Multiplayer would be great. ping time and lag are the issue in flash games (Onur the coder says) maybe if it was downloadable we could do that. Agreed, team capture the flag/deathatch would be fantastic. -Leigh

Thanks for the comments. Planning a trilogy with 4 levels each at the minute. Part 1 in a few months. Is it clear you have to hold down fire for a long range mortar? I'm concerned. 8) Any ideas for next version would be great, thanks.
Funny, i'd never seen that game until you mentioned, especially as i used to make amiga games. It does have many similarities. Think i'll have to watch the whole youtube vid for ideas now. Thanks. -Leigh
