Too hard, later on it's impossible to get upgrades from all the spending on the repairment. You need to add like a difficulty setting.. This is honestly too hard.. :l

Nice game! I like the execution, my only nitpicking is that there is not much of an upgrade tree, and after a few days you just accumulate money without any real use for it. For those struggling with difficulty, the key is to earn MONEY as fast as possible, not to kill as many enemies as possible. Headshots give $10 per kill. Since heads are usually armored, the strategy is to get the hardest-hitting and accurate weapon--the heavy xbow and steel shafts. This costs $170+50. Spend the early rounds going for headshots (it may take 2-3 hits with the default equipment). It should only take 4-5 days to get enough to get the heavy xbow. Get the long tail and bodkin next and you should be nailing headshots fast enough to upgrade all the supports pretty quickly. I'm usually done upgrading by day 15 or so.

I played a bit more. First, repairs should be a lot cheaper. Hmm. we're in a forest. How about wood instead of stone? The number of enemies needs to be reduced by a lot given the difficult of shooting them. The number would be justified if I was part of a group of archers, but it's too many for a single. Also, change the angle from a side to a frontal view. Is it really smart to attack a enemy from the side when it gives you a smaller target. There's a huge difference from hitting what would be a foot wide target, which is more likely, than the very small one in this game.

would be a lot more fun if there wasn't that split second lag when letting go of the bowstring. the hiccup causes a miss nearly every single time

You can't play this if you are a bad shot but it's fine if you are an average player. There is plenty of opportunity to repair your wall.

Achievements seem bugged. No big deal, as I don't think they do anything, but I have 446/300 kills and no achievement. Fun game- pretty tough.

The far right screen obscure firing recticle which encumbers use of crossbow reloading mechanism. This is a great game, but only for experienced/expert shooters, which I don't have a problem with. Besides some balancing issues future developments might want to look engaging more rewards for higher level achievements, maybe rank with extra monetary earnings per level survived. Keep up the good work.

This game is still way too difficult. I have to spend all my money half ass fixing the fort and then I never have any to upgrade stuff so I'm just constantly screwing myself over. Money should either be a little easier to get or the gate repair should be less expensive.

stupid thing here is that if u miss 2-3 enemies u dont lose just gate hp. u lose money bcz next wave will be harder and u will not be able to kill them

Interesting game and good graphics, but very difficult. I'm lucky to get 10% accuracy. There needs to be a way to make it easier. Maybe get rid of the the balance between precision and aim until the later stages. Also, since archers were used en masse, maybe adding this to the game could help.

Great game w/ surprisingly nice graphics. 5/5
Suggestions: More flexibility in customization (string tension, other materials), even if not the most realistic. More variety in enemies, esp for armor (randomly decide whether or not a unit has a particular piece of armor and that piece's material (influences encumberment/defense)). More movement behaviors (paths other than straight lines, occasional infantry formations, heavy armor or injury (esp. leg) slows units). Greater damage spread (damage now seems very consistent & highly reliant on hit part). Take advantage of "3D" look (distant units are slower (parallax) but also take less damage/increase arrow time to hit distant units(current difference is minimal)).
Entirely new facets to consider: Bowmen target player (player has health, armor, & injury/encumberment to impede aim/reload). Allied units. Player must account for gravity. (Perhaps these functions would only belong in higher difficulties.)

Very nice game. Would like to see a longer personal upgrade tree. The support upgrades are great, but in a game with has a skill curve such as this one, I really enjoy upgrading myself more than the support. This is only because the upgraded support tends to completely nullify the skill curve.

Great game! Difficult enough but once you start using your garrisons effectively, you shouldn't have any problem completing it.
Some hints for those having trouble:
1- Always do the tutorial. Killing the animals gives you a little more gold to start with.
2- Don't spend too much upgrading your weapon. Personally, I keep the shortbow wich I only upgrade with the broadhead (to cause bleeding damage) and the composite arrow.
3- Try to shoot the enemies as soon as possible. If you cause them to bleed, they won't make it to your gate. Don't waste your time on the spearmen at first; shoot at the swordsmen and the bowmen.
4- As soon as you have enough gold, buy the archers and upgrade them to the max. Use them as much as you can to get rid of many attackers at the same time and to kill the well armored spearmen.
5- Next, invest in the catapult garrison so you can rain hell constantly while your archers are reloading.
6- Kill any remaining enemies.
Wash, rinse repeat!

Great game with nice details. I would like suggest more upgrade things. Say u hire archer (there could be more types, for armor etc) and he shoots with u from the walls. More choice for upgrade instead of only 3. Maybe fire arrows, oil from the gates ,balistas etc. There is really alot of room to improve this great game.

the game is quite good, loved it,but in later levels we need another archer shooting on our side, too many enemies but 5/5 well done 3K

What is with the accuracy in this game. I can easily peg a sprinting horse far away, but it takes 4 shots to hit an archer who is completely stationary with a high accuracy bow.

U would really think that the archer they got to defend this place never shot a bow in his freakin life because his accuracy is terrible.

Short Guide: Longbow+Broadhead+Hardwood, The broadhead reduces the need to fire a second shot, as bleeding damage will take care of the enemy, with this loadout, 1 hit kills are quite common, with bleeding finishing off any enemy that refuses to die. Aim the cross hair at the front of an enemy's torso, then release. With horses, aim a little bit further, as the hardwood reduces speed. With this loadout, you will be a killing machine.

What are crossbows good for? Tried them once but it's just too slow...probably because I didn't get the hang of the reloading.
Other than that I love this game.
For anyone struggling, I got the bodking arrowhead and the longbow, along with spiral fletching and the composite arrow. To make aiming easier I took the weapons of the enemies (for non-archers) as reference point. As for the upgrades: I only bought mead when I had everything else maxed; I preferred archers over catapults but I don't know if that's a smart choice since the maxed catapult is pretty badass. I guess there is more than one way to win.
Anyway, this strategy worked for me: 624 kills on 758 shots and 79% accuracy

@ leylandw, The placement on the map is where the archers will attack. The archers are in the garrison firing at their designated target zone.

So, I sucked at this I restarted after wave 5 or so, and then made it till the end, I got first the arrowhead that lets you punch through armor, then the archery command, going to the best feather for accuracy, to longbow, after the longbow i never even looked at the other cross-/bows. Get the broadhead its amazing, you actually can just dont bother with the spear man not deling enough damage as its worth. the level 3 catapult is amzing get it if you can, bear its ok but not necessary. I only repaired my Gate if it was below 30% these are my stats: 384 Kills, 897 Shots so on Average 2,2 Arrows or so, but atleast 70 got through probably more only 4 Headshots but 26 to the knee, yeah and Funfact: With the average weight of an arrow with 72g, i shot away 65kg wood.

the hit box on the enemies are as small as the damn arrow which has a even smaller hit box, i hit a enemy in the arm, leg, head and back 1000 times and nothing happens, its ether the hit box or the visual...its a good game but the hit-box HAS to be increased to a reasonable(as in realistic) size!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
also, make different unit types worth different amount of gold per kill, i should get plenty for hitting those damn lightning riders
