So....be careful with the cat, if you click it and the door like within the same frame it breaks the game...or something, I can't get through the door and trying to close the door again activates the cat....it is broken now and I can't get through to put these pods where they need to go...

ok so honestly that was my bad, i never had hit the cat while also having the door closed. I would have at least tried clicking the banner in different spots

after reading these i've decided i need to finally look at the walkthrough for the flower petal banner bc im clearly missing something not made obvious to me

Place to put lantern in the dark area was too dark, couldn't see it. A lot of things aren't obvious that you have to click them, which can be a nuisance. Had trouble placing the teru bozu, with it being right on the edge of the screen.

...i did the drums then got myself killed now i have to completely redo it... the length is fine but the fact that you have to completely restart when you fail is a pain in the ass

Also, if you get the key from the monkey and then investigate the next room, after the cutscene you have to get the key again. Normally I give these games 5/5. 3/5 for that and lighting issues where some key locations in rooms are too dark to see where I'm supposed to interact.

It is too dark (at least on my screen) to see where I am supposed to hang the lantern after it is lit. I needed to look at the walkthrough to know which dark pixel to click even though I knew what I needed to do.

firstly , it was awesome seeing that there was a new addition to this series. Puzzles were nice and mostly logical, atmosphere was great. However , some things that I didn't like and want to point out:
1)The beans were just beans. There could be some way to "enchant" them or something similar.
2)The puzzle with the flower banner is not obvious enough that when you click a different shape , you actually interact differently with the banner.
3)The "Simon Says" puzzle . Mainly because no-one seems to like this kind of puzzles(maybe because they don't feel like puzzles ?) and because 11 clicks were too many indeed.
4)The "4 in a row" puzzle could be a bit harder. I beat it just by dropping my markers in the same collumn .

I agree with everyone about the 'Simon Says' mechanic. Eleven clicks is too much. Seven or Eight should be enough for this kind of game. The point is learning how to solve the puzzle, not struggling through it. But this small issue asides, it was a great game. I enjoyed the puzzles and atmosfere. Loved how the scares where obvious, since I'm easily scared. Point and click games - especially escape ones - are my favorites. Glad they are still being made.

I completed the game: I was killed once by the Hitodama and three times by the Yurei, but the Oni was very anticlimatic: I had been just so prepared, with those beans there all that time, and just flung them at it at once.

Fun game! I had to check the official walkthrough to figure out that the matches lit the four stone lanterns out in the yard with the tanuki. Other than that, my meager intellect was enough to work things out.

Giving up. Can't find what the flower corresponds to, how to feed the yurei, what the omikuji is for, or how to pick the chromatophores.

I'm very torn about games that necessitate figuring out puzzles on paper. I feel like everything ought to be solvable strictly within the game if it's designed well.

There was a bug that prevented me to pick scissors :(
Also, a bit disappointed with the petal puzzle: there is no distinguishable way to understand whether it works and where to start.

IM GONNA STAY AWAY FROM THAT WOMAN FOR A WHILE omg I hate horror so much :( I can't mentally do the puzzles and my brain is easily scared wtf...

Very good game, it took me a while in the "candle, sword, japanese fan, budda" puzzle to realize that they represent the number of these items.

If anyone struggles with the 'Simon Says' style puzzle - the statue with the drums. It does go on a little, and at least one person has said they've given up.
So, imagine the drums are numbers, with 1 in the bottom right, going clockwise to 7. The full pattern is 15462733646. It starts with four and builds up.
No help on the rest.

The simon says game with the statue with 7 balls is too long. I'm giving up on this at a sequence of 10. This ain't fun anymore.

I agree with everything TFO says. The 4 in a row game however is fun and very idiomatic to be used in a game like this. The Majong game could be a bit more challenging. Can't wait to get back to Forgotten Hill.

Big fan of this series. Enjoyed the atmosphere and music in this one. I feel it's a little let down by the puzzles. I personally think there's an over reliance on 'simon says' mechanics.
