2 Player mode would be possible by splitting the screen in two, and one ship is controlled by WASD and the other controlled by Arrow Keys, you could have different modes, ones where you work together, and ones where you battle. :)

as for the upgrades there could be increase level size or after each match the level size increases anyway, there could also be when you crash into asteroids a upgrade that makes the amount less the minimum being that you only loose 1 point instead of what ever you loose , being more shots that you start with, speed of the shots , speed of the turning and thrust put together in one upgrade or it will fell odd , more bombs(things that destroy all asteroids within range , more atom bombs (bombs that destroy every asteroid on the screen/field and asteroid point increase upgrade so whenever you destroy an asteroid you get more points then you would normally.

Nice. The ship rotates a little slowly - something to modify for the reboot. Also, mouse movement as an alternative would be nice, something that you didn't have time to do for this one, but for the possibility of a reboot you should add it.
Please feel free to try it again now. Since this version is not linked to the Mochi one, I am actually able to update it. Turning speed has now increased by 50% (still no mouse controls though :( ).

It was a challenge to make a game in such a limited time with that theme, but I like the result. The level up system is interesting and could expanded in a reboot. For example, different ship forms and more enemies as you increase your score. Good luck in the contest!

I guess I could get into it, but I just feel like I'm so detached from my ship. I rotate so slowly and feel like I'm doing so little damage, plus the 60 second limit really didn't add any urgency to my actions. There was also some lag as things got more hectic, and my ship upgrades just being a wider shot didn't really excite me or give me encourage me to try and make my ship as powerful as possible. Still, for 9 hours it is a pretty nice feat of programming, even if it's not as good a game. About a 2/5 from me.
The turning speed has been increased by 50%. One of the primary issues with trying to make a game in so short of time is no time for beta-testing by others. Fortunately, I foresaw that issue and was able to literally change just one value to change the turning speed. Considering that the asteroids are each OHKO, what do you suggest for making the upgrades better or more powerful?

2 Things:
1. my plug was green yet the high score still didn't work (shame as it would have been damn high)
2. Nice game (and seriously creepy music) but have you considered an endless mode? you could implememt a proper upgrade system eg. turn faster, unlockable graphic schemes, and then have a nice little timewaster perfect for Kong badges
Was the score 324? If so, it just needed a bit to update since it shows now. This game was designed for a contest in which the theme was "60 Seconds". I am in the process of totally overhauling the game for a "Reboot" version (although at this stage, it's so different that I will likely have to come up with a new name :P).

I was referring to the concept of two player. If player one is trying to go up-right, and player two is trying to go down-left, there'll be problems since most keyboards only support 3 simultaneous keystrokes through USB connection.
D: I miss my PS/2 ports. But they're broken in my case. :(

Yes, especially the part about the controls. I dunno about the lag, didn't experience it as much. Upgrades would be good, but I have no idea as to what you would want to upgrade, the speed of firing and how the bullets go up in number seem to be the only things I want. Shadow999999 does have some good ideas, though.
I'm glad the lag was minimal for you. The FPS is right on the borderline, where good computers will experience minimal, if any, lag, but older computers will see more. Will be looking into the upgrades :).

make it that you can spend your points in the shop after the 60 seconds are up after each match till your fully upgraded and for the first time make an ending for once lol anyway good 60 second game although spaceships don't fly that fast forward and only be able to turn slowly...what im saying is make it that when you hold forward you dont go flying forward at once instead make it the longer you hold forward the faster you go after each say split second so when you hold it ,it will go faster over time!
It does actually accelerate, just at a fast rate ;). I had to give up some reality for playability. Will think of lowering acceleration in future releases.

really good game especially as you made it in such a short time. I hope you do well in the 60 second competition. If you make a re-booted version then i think adding upgrades that you actually buy and achievements would be great!!! thanks for a good 60 seconds ;)

I may make a "Reboot" version of this game later, so please let me know (via comment or PM) what you liked and/or didn't like so that I can make that one even better. Thank you :)

For such a short time, it's actually really good. Most, if not all, of the things that I noticed were already voiced out by the top comments.

1st nice game :D
one minor error. the best tactic is to jsut ramm the asteroids. you auto shoot to fast, and you destroy them instanly. the asteroids shoud have a bigger speed when they get created from a bigger asteroid. that speed shood lower a bit afterwards.
If you just ram them, your score goes down... I've managed to get negative scores quite a few times (and not on purpose). Good point about the exploding asteroids though. Will keep that in mind.
