I actually tried your custom map. Still hate those greens ;). You are perhaps the first to have taken the time to put it to use. I am glad to see at least someone enjoyed making a custom map :D
In case anyone cannot figure it out, SPOILER: the hint was in the dialogue that the square must make him see things differently. You need to collect the stars he leaves behind ;).

I love how this version has a wonderful story, but it dint ruin the simplicity of the game play! Unlike lots of story games this one doesn't take to long to finish! + if you agree.
I'll + for you. The goal was to make a game with a quick story but with multiple difficulties and unlockables (have you checked out the shop?) to keep players coming back ;).
Yeah, I've learned from that mistake (this was the second game I made); I think I added in another option for sprinting, but I can't remember off the top of my head. Other games I've made have other options. There is a level select menu, so you can skip right back to the boss if you want.
There is no point to publishing it to SF as I made an entire tutorial series about how to make a game like it. Anything beyond that tutorial is copyrighted material, which would be dumb to make public to all.
The file size is rather large unfortunately, which is what is causing a long loading time. I didn't know much about optimization when I made the game... I hope it's worth the wait though!
When creating the game, I'd play on "normal" almost all of the time, but the testers complained about normal being too hard, so I made "easy". Then, I got complaints about "easy" not being easy enough, so I had to come up with something "easier than easy". And, I STILL get complaints about it being too hard occasionally *facepalm*... Anyways, that's where the name comes from.

i just bought the difficulty thing, and i was all like "yolo" and i put it on 0.01 on level 8.
THE LAAAAAG!! by the way is it even possible to do it on 0.01? i really doubt it XD
This was only the second game I made, so the coding isn't really optimized. I'd be surprised if anyone can get through on 0.01 since so many have a hard time even on "hard".
Thanks :). My motto is that if you take the time to write a comment, I should take the time to reply. Comments are the best way for me to learn what players like/don't like in my games, so I do whatever I can to encourage them :).

staplasam, the 1st, 2nd, and 2rd walls are the walls of the stage of a play. The 4th wall is the one that's imaginary, but it's technically still there. Talking to the audience, such as in an aside, breaks such wall.

This game is Stencyl faulty in the electric level- I died twice after setting all the keys even I didn't collide with an enemy - they were just near hovering about.
Hard is definitely hard, but it is also definitely doable as I have managed to do it myself. A lot comes down to understanding when to run fast and when to take things slow. Don't forget about the shop, where you can buy things like a custom speed, so you can tweak your player to how you want him. :)

4th wall is commonly seen in comics. Here's how it happens: The character talks/explains something that connects to the real world, between those imaginary comics/games and the real world, is the 4th wall. (Dont know what happened to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.) So it means you broke it.

vsauce brought me to another great game of yours ( at least i think it is yours) and then i read a comment on that game that took me here. im so glad i found of these games because i love them. good job and good luck on any future games you might be making. (:
Yep, Last Square Standing is also mine. I'm glad you found this one too :). I have a lot of other games (and tutorials) in my profile although they are different from these two. Thanks :)
Aye, you'll have to be a bit patient. There's a lot of graphics, and this was created before I knew how to optimize the size... but it's well worth it once the wait is over ;).

Thank you for responding to my message BTW this game is awesome and it looks like a lot of effort is this your first game?
Each level is customized, which greatly increased the file size, which I cannot do anything about at this point :(. I'm glad you liked the graphics though :).

really nice game. i would love to see a sequal! maybe you play as the person after he had changed back from a square!?
Originally, there was a sequel planned, "The Other Circle", where they return into the game world to rescue the pink girl's sister, but since I have left the internet, it is doubtful that will ever come to fruition.

This is very inspiring. Me, working on my very first stencyl game, never saw this much potential in stencylworks... Wow.
Thanks. With "Mr. Goldfish: Reboot", this is tied for my fullest Stencyl game (in my opinion anyways...). While there aren't many other good Stencyl games here on Kongregate, there are some on NewGrounds that cannot be found here.
:P. Ironically, the boss scales the least of any level. Whereas the levels get really insane on hard, the boss is still rather manageable (or it could just be me... :P).

That must be one REEEALLY good alt ending, cuz within 2 seconds of the pink appearing on lvl 6 on normal, i get sniped.
The "normal" alt ending is an extension of the ending scene. Unlock that by getting the pink at any difficulty (btw, can buy a custom difficulty option in the shop and make it even easier than "Cake") and then re-beating the game. The other alt ending (the button one) is just a different artist's interpretation of the end.
Yes I do respond to all comments ;). It does take a while to load due to the sheer amount of pictures and coding that went into the game. This was made before I learned how to do things elegantly (and thus taking up less room), but the real size issue came from using a high-quality music and all of the individual pictures since each level has its own theme...

So, touching walls kill you, touching the border of the game kills you...
and what the heck are you supposed to do on the boss?
To destroy the boss, you need to collect the stars that come out of him. Not all walls kill you, just the red ones (or stated ones, such as lava/electric).
