This game is bullshit, i like the story but seriously it's extremely based on luck, also is the developer's favorite number 1? Because i get it a lot... like a LOT.

my hero's initiative is always maxed, yet the enemy forces always attack first, meaning if you have any weaker or new troops on your front line, they die, and any defense map where you start of surrounded becomes super difficult because all of your tank troops lose half their hp on the first turn. and abilities can be used only once per skirmish? better save that heal spell for when you are about to lose a troop. i like the permadeath, a troop gets wiped out you lose it, but combing it with all of the above and a horrible RNG makes even veteran strategy gamers like myself cringe

0.0 GOBLIN INFANTRY does 180 damage to Elven general(who by the way, has quite considerable melee defence because of my upgrades)

Hard fail on the attack system...it ruined my enjoyment of playing such a cool game. Other than that I would say 5/5, but the attack system brought it down to 0/5. I hit 7 1's in a row and lost because of it.

About all your complaints towards the Battle System (1 Damage, Double Turn, Army Upgrades...): we FIXED it in our next games Fantasy Kommander 2, Kaos Kommander and Chroma Wars. I was not a fan after one battle at the War academy. But after tasting a couple battles and unit purchasing/advancement on a campaign, I may be hooked. I'm getting definite Shining Force, FF tactics, Battle of Wesnoth, Master of Monsters vibes. Hope this gets good!

How come the troll general always get a critical attack when he hits my general? and how the hell are we supposed to win when we only do 1 damage, and when we get a critical attack it dont do damage? Whats the point in upgrading the units when they only do 1 damage anyway?

it was a very good free to play gameplay. ok, the double turn is sometimes strange. but you get also doubleturn sometimes.
i did the mission defend the empire but i can not tell you anymore, how to do the mission. because after years to play again i discovered that one cannot save anymore...... why

I would like to see this game re-done with the Improvements to the game engine in - Kaos Kommander Ch.1 - "Vendetta". It would be nice to play this original one with more stable code and bug fixes. The Slow speed of the AI and wild damage swings are what prevent me from wanting to play this version of the game. Really enjoy the series though.

oh and theres another flaw with this game they can do 2 times the trenches on 1 turn and we can only do 1 and 2 they get to attack 2 times and all 2 times there atack is major and only sometimes can we atack 2 times and theatack is like 1 damage

only thing i dont like about this game, is how at seemingly random times, you or the enemy get an extra turn. that makes this game cross from strategy, and enter the realm of luck. otherwise 5/5 great game

This game sucks, the idea is ok but the game itself sucks, every option is totally wrong managed, even the zoom sucks at all costs. Doing always 1 damage when the enemy has 2-5 hp, YEAH SURE. fukk this.

The game is great.
For those complaining about double turns: they don't actually exist.
The game works on a turn based system. Some times You go first sometimes they go first. If the enemy went last last round, then goes first the next round it will seem like a double turn but it is the start of the new turn they just happened to go first this time.
I like this aspect, makes it far more challenging.

enemy stopped taking the turn because it was confused as to what to do? in orcish capital level so after almost winning i have to restart and then relocate recources and level ups. an almost defeated army should do way less damage if not then they should be heros and not armies. show groups of people in the future show the arrows of each one hitting the other armiesand them falling all over the place and off the walls of forts and the like...

unit hp should somehow affect damage, like when a 3 hp does like 45 dmg when your more well equipped and a higher level

Dwarf campaign, troll side-campaign, mission with the undead general and cursed treasure... it's way harder than the one before and the one after it, that mission is. Quite a lottery, you're bound to lose at least one troop.

Terrible system, my hourse units does 1-90 damage! So I can kill 80HP enemy in one hit, or cant kill 130HP enemy in 5 turns using 6 units...

The game is fantastic. I love it! I just wish the CPU were faster calculating its moves!
And, what's more, why don't you deepen it even further adding more details about the background story and making it a bit more tolkien-like?

As is it's either 1 or 45 damage, nothing in between. That needs to change. Also, I don't like the turn limits. As a more powerful nation attacking a smaller one, I feel that time should be on my side. You should at least make some levels where you win if time runs out.

Hum... the harder difficulty levels are leader specific, so if I win with an Elf, I can only play the Champion difficulty with an Elf. That'll be a lot of work...

Why does one side sometimes get two turns in a row?
It's because initiative is calculated each turn. 2 "turns" in a row, means that a commander "lost" the first turn but "won" the second turn's initiative. :)

Whilst the criticals are quite high, I don't think they're that much of a problem, if you understand the crits, you can use them to your advantage (i've lost one unit so far, after about 7 campaign games, because i was stupid with it). Agreed with Cydira, the HP would be nicer to see without hovering over the unit. However, I loved the game, the main problem being these criticals (which is fixed in FK2 :D)

This 2 turns in a row by random negates any delicate tactics, initiative should only determine who begins the first turn.

Occasional bug: sometimes an attack shows "critical" "master attack" etc, but then inflicts zero damage. Doesn't happen enough to break the game, but is annoying.

Damage makes sense, but I can't figure out the upgrades. I want 2 attacks per turn - how do I get that? What's the pre-req? And how do the special abilities work? Maybe I should have done the tutorial, but the rest of it is easy to figure out - I'd rather be able to quickly skim a help screen, but there isn't one.

Nice game...i give it 3/5 only because of the one glaringly obvious issue. DAMAGE....wtf is up with it? it's totally random at best, freakin retarted most of the time...fix that and u got urself a 5/5 game
