Description
Dig your way through treacherous caverns while saving damsels in distress in this sequel to the original Caved In. The goal of the game is to descend as deep as you can while rescuing damsels and collecting treasures. As you dig, you weaken the integrity of the level. The lower the integrity, the more often cave ins occur!
How to Play
WSAD: move
F: place torch
Left-click: dig
Right-click: place brick

Okay. There's apparently ogres or something down there. They charge at you, but you can dodge. Other critters stop at your location, then explode. Gremlins of some sort steal torches. This seems like a pretty decent game, but could use some form of dealing with the enemies a little better; right now it feels like they strike from the darkness and kill me before I can respond. Perhaps make them slightly more visible when just outside my light radius?
I spent a lot of time thinking about how to deal with combat. In the end, I felt it was better if the combat was more indirect so that it remained as close to the original as possible. The most common way to deal with monsters is to simply avoid them and place bricks to block their path. Alternatively, you can cause cave ins near them or lead them into lava. :)

Perhaps there's a glitch then? Contact with a spider, on my machine, results in death in one second or less. Dealing with enemies in general is rather more frustrating than I think you intend it to be, which is lowering my enjoyment of what is otherwise a promising game. In my first ten or so playthroughs, I haven't yet survived to go down to the next level.

we need to have a option to change the controls
As of version 1.0.4, I added alternative controls. You can now use the arrow keys for movement, space to place bricks, and control to place torches.

I love games like this. I think people are just too used to straight-forward games that are easy to beat...
To those who are having trouble: "Levels" aren't meant to be fully beaten. What you should do is to first gather stone to protect yourself. Sure you need damsels and treasure to really increase your score, but it's not worth it if the integrity is too low or if there are too many monsters. Make sure there's always an easily accessible escape route in case of a cave in. Also make sure to quickly plug any floods (both water and lava can own your face).
There are some pretty important tweaks to be made, though: Firstly, the player hitbox should be a bit smaller. It's unreasonable for him to die from a fraction of a pixel's length scrape against falling gravel. Secondly, there should be a bit more contrast between dirt wall and dirt ground textures. Thirdly, there should be a pause feature.

No mention in tutorial of spiders that appear to insta-kill you.
Spiders do not insta-kill (unless there happens to be a bug), they must be right on top of you for a few seconds. Your screen glows red to represent the damage. You might have been previously damaged by water or lava and the spider finished you off. :)
