Under rating threshold (show) While not the first to integrate RPG elements into a TD game this one has certainly pushed it the farthest (thus far). Still, to reiterate other comments, the resource management system takes away from the experience. Maybe reducing the dimensions of the grid to 6x6 may help. You should check out "Kingdom Rush". The developers' of that game mixed-in a lot of RPG elements into that game without making too much of an impact on the core TD mechanics. You might be able to draw a few pointers from how they implemented barracks and such. However, when all is said and done, this is a great achievement (even more so for a 48-hour comp).

Apparently my experiment of putting it as a splash screen completely overwhelmed it. I'm going to attempt to move it into cloud hosting as soon as possible, but I'm not positive how long it will take. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Under rating threshold (show) Its fun, but its a bit too much multitasking, while your getting resources u have to look at that and you dont focus on the towers, then u only realize you have to place towers again when you end up losing a life.

Under rating threshold (show) level 46 with 4 more levels left to do on hard... now it just seems based on luck, if i don't get poison i'm pretty much screwed two fully upgraded skybounds with double-poison = game,set, and match even on hard if you don't wanna lose any castle health probably 3 will do it

Under rating threshold (show) so yeah i'm at the point that matching 5 stars gives 4% exp (level 40) seems the max level goes past 100, some high scores say people reached level 130 in endless!? someone show me a vid at how the hell people pull that off?

Under rating threshold (show) just cleared normal, using just one skybound tower with poison and wisdom(exp to prince trey) on every stage, he's now at lv 39 what's the max level? 99? or more than that? and is it possible to get to the point where towers aren't even needed anymore? (for story i mean, of course endless you'll need towers sometime...)

Under rating threshold (show) (sry for the comment spree). the 60 minutes worked too now, when I revisited map 1. an issue with str: attack only shows raw weapon stat. str doesn't modify (the value displayed at least) an idea: how about giving extra resources when matching 8, 16 or 24? maybe 10/24/48? regards

Under rating threshold (show) Good tower defense, real refreshing change of pace, I like it. I do have to agree with others that I have no idea what strength and agility really do. Or defense... My hero just would randomly die when health hit 0 and I had no idea how that really worked. Also, the basic campaign seemed really short. That's great for a short game I play in the library for an hour wasting time but now at home I'm bored in the evening and finished :( Guess I'll try the endless modes!

Under rating threshold (show) This game is one the best flash games out there imo, so I'll try to give some criticism to make it even better! 1. More info on some of the game mechanics would be nice: what are the unexplained gems like the purple gems in the forest, what is the difference between the shield icon stat and the defense stat on items, do poison (and other same) gems stack in the same tower? 2. I might be missing it somewhere, but a indicator of the amount of monsters left would be great. I try to save my chests until the end to get better loot, but I can't tell when the end is.

Under rating threshold (show) Fantastic game. Just like others stated, it takes too much focus to gather resources than to actually enjoy the tower defense aspect of the game. Instead, perhaps there could be "rounds" in which you first collect as many resources as you can in limited time, then the round begins. Every switch to a different resource field grants you that same limited time to collect resources. Also, you could remove certain resources from later resource fields, so that there are also "phases" in the game where instead of having a ton of wood to collect which is almost wasted in later in the game, it would be removed altogether so that you can only upgrade. This way players could manage their time either trying to build more towers, or upgrading as many as they can.

Under rating threshold (show) Am I the only one to think this game suffers from a relative lack of control on anything ? The only strategic (and what a shame, obvious) choice is to get a basic trishot frost+curse tower ASAP. After that, since I lack information about characteristics, ennemies and everything else, I just mindlessly combine rows of whatever stuff, spam towers as soon as I have 10 wood, upgrade with great entropy, and pause to put random gems/stuff everywhere. In hard mode.

Two requests however: 1) Persistent upgrades for completing achievements, and make the game slightly more difficult so that getting those upgrades is useful towards game completion. 2) At present, the prince's gear gets permanently downgraded when revisiting previous levels. Get steel/adamanant/etc gear on one level, then go back to get hard an level one, and POOF all that gear is now wooden. If gear needs to be temporarily downgraded to the best possible for that level, ok...but please restore the original state when going back to later levels. Thanks.

I'm not sure I understand the second part. If I get higher level equipment and go back to early chapters I keep all my gear. The only time it resets is during endless mode, because you start from scratch each time (and when I return to story I still have my gear). Is that not how it functions for you?

Under rating threshold (show) I really like this game, and the tower defense genre all together, but what I see in most new TD games, is that you get plenty of stuff to upgrade, but barely any time in a level. I like TD games to both last long, and also have fun gameplay, which this game has plenty of the second, but not so much of the first

Under rating threshold (show) The puzzle is a great idea, but it takes away from the tower defence aspect of it all. Im spending my whole time frantically trying to gather resources and never get to see how my towers are doing. It's a great idea, but it needs a more practical application.

Under rating threshold (show) And assuming that this game follows how every other game works, attack is how much damage you do, defense is how much damage he blocks, agility is probably how fast he moves, and vitality his life. Not exactly sure why people don't use common sense on this kind of stuff <. But I would suggest a brief in-game description for the people who really need it.

Under rating threshold (show) Definitely liked the multitasking phase, but honestly, I never felt that I ran out of any type of resource. I just set up my towers in a way that makes sense (used the multi-towers for their effects, one long range tower, and a swift tower to kill anything near my base), and just went crazy on getting resources. Before too long, I had a crapton of gems, a decked out warrior, and definitely enough towers. Great game. Definitely a 5/5 for me.

Under rating threshold (show) I really like one of the other users comments about having a 'matching' phase where you have a limited amount of time to gather resources and then set up or upgrade your defenses before the actual waves comes. Because as of right now I think it honestly too easy with unlimited resources basically

While I agree this would make an interesting game, I think it would be a very different game. My main goal for this was to try to make TD fun for me (since I have a tendency to get bored just waiting for monsters to run by). By alternating rounds it ruins my main goal, which is the main reason I don't want to stuff it in last minute as a feature of this game. However, I do think that would make an enjoyable game for people who like TD, so if I don't get a chance to make a game like that, hopefully someone will. :)

Under rating threshold (show) 5/5 nice idea! 2 achievements seem bugged: 1. 60 minutes in endless 2. match 24 tiles. didn't register (you didn't mean 24 of the same kind did you? that would be impossible. I had 8 wood 8 stars 8 trees - should qualify?)

60 minutes in endless is definitely bugged (still). But I've found the issue and should have it fixed soon. I'm not sure about the 24 tiles one though. I seem to have no issue getting it. You don't need them all to be the same kind, you just need to destroy 24 in the same move. I can't seem to reproduce not obtaining the achievement when I get it.
