Finally got the hard badge...what is the point of height and width? after lvl 2 height, it is useless, same with width after lvl 1. then just luck, very frustrating sequel after a much beloved 1st edition.

Here's my strategy, got me to Mars in 13 days: upgrade your slingshot as much as possible as soon as possible. Next priority is rocket fuel, and then your rockets. After that, get the radar to at least level 2 ASAP. Buff your e-rocket and fuel sucker every chance you get. Remember to keep upgrading your slingshot, especially its height. You don't absolutely have to get the third radar upgrade--save the money for another level on your slingshot, rocket fuel, e-rockets, or fuel sucker.

pull down, launch the porcupine out the top of the screen. I know this because when I bought max height, it was at the very top.

Developers,
We'd really, really appreciate it if you didn't make those timed-mission badges. Surely you want us to enjoy your game and not rush through it?
Sincerely,
CrestOfFire.

Thanks for giving us tips on how to get the Hard badge. "Earn $1600 on the first day" I earned $0.50, close enough :)

I'm dragging band down the screen, hedgehog is launched under ground, I'm dragging it up the screen, hedgehog still is launched under ground. WTF???

Easy way to hard badge:
Day 1 - Chain as many platforms as possible. you don't need to go high, just stay alive long enough to make at least 1000. Buy Radar 2 and a rocket (or 2 if you have enough).
Day 2 - Same strategy as day 1, but you need to come away with at least 5000. You'll want to but the second to last fuel and as many rockets as you can afford. The rest can be spent on fuel sucker, but it should be unnecessary.
That's it! All you need is the Radar and fuel to keep moving up, while using the rockets as a back-up. You should be able to get to Mars with tons of fuel left even without a high level of Fuel Sucker.

its just one huge random number generator making hard badge just luck and endurence to replay long enough to get stuff done at first three shots . sorry but 1/5 no skill involved at all

@ArtAndor - there is a restart option at the bottom - but only on the launch screen bizarrely.
The game is ridiculous. You either do spectacularly well or spectacularly badly and its entirely dependent on that first launch. Made it to Mars in 2 days after a few attempts. Didn't enjoy doing so.

After 10 minutes of being at 18000 feet, falling to about 10000, getting back to 19000, falling to 10000, and getting back to 19500, I finally found that last gold boost pad to get me to mars <3

This is one of the worst launch games I've ever played. Way too much of it is based on luck and way too much of it is spent doing nothing waiting for your hedgehog to land. The upgrades just don't do enough to make me feel like anything I do changes the outcome as much as the random platform generator. How does this have a 4 rating?
I wrote this whole comment while waiting for my stupid hedgehog to land so I can start doing something again and he's still going... No game should ever make you sit and do nothing for five minutes.

I decided to play a little more. And it got worse. Who writes UI that you have to launch by dragging over the HUD? And why can I launch UP and DOWN when up does me no good - it's like an Easter egg to how to screw yourself. Who in the world writes this garbage? 1/5

So, once you get up in the air... How in the hell do you get down?? I've been on this one flight for damn near 30 minutes now

Hard Badge. Day one - Launcher Height, Rockets fuel tank, left, right rocket. You'll have to reset quite a few times, what you're going for is at least $1500 which is like 40-$50 on the hud, $3k is better :) Use left, right looking for purple and gold platforms. Only do quick taps with the left and right arrow keys to conserve fuel. It's luck based, but with practice you'll become better at gaining height with platforms. Day two - Add Ons E rocket lvl 2. When you start to fall use E rocket, look for platforms to gain height, if there's no close platforms use E rocket, when you can't go any higher hold hard left or right and hope that you hit a lot of platforms. Shoot for $20k. Day Three - max E rocket and launcher as high as it can go. The spare money I put it into width, band, one parachute, fuel tank, left and right rockets. Use judgement on when to use E rocket, Gain some height from platforms before using it. With max E rocket mars should be easy to reach. Hope this helps :)

I still get which way I'm supposed to pull the band. Because when he launches, the camera does crazy sht flips and spins and whirls..

I'm so proud of myself, I've been trying to get the hard badge for years and I managed it on my 2nd attempt coming back. wow

I made it in three days... Fully upraged the top three (width height band) and didn't even use the rockets or anything that day O.o (Days 1 and 2 I did what Snapshot103 said, but then I got 81K on the second.. :D)

No hard badge should ever, EVER, be entirely luck based. The admin of kong must know he creature of this game in an attempt to max games played number. The first one every called for a reset button, and guess what? There isn't one here in the second one and kong gives a badge you have to reset numberless times to get.

20 launches. 2 dollars collected, the HUD covers so much of the bottom of the screen and the bands are so elastic you can't get full launch without dropping it off the bottom of the game frame, which automatically releases the hedgehog at far less than it's total max velocity.

I honestly don't see much of a difference here compared to the first one, except that you have to pull toward the sky and dig underground to reach the air. The first few tries, you really have to get lucky to get any money, but once you got a decent set-up, you get miles ahead. The game definitely needs a better understanding of its physics (and maybe an arrow to show where to pull for day one).

After playing freeplay mode and getting everything I decided to launch my hedgehog and rocket all the way to the left until I ran out of feul. After setting down my laptop for 2 hours he is still going. Wow..

I don't understand it. I'm not able to move the guy with the arrow keys and the launcher and ground levels confuse me. Is this game just broken for me? It's got such a high score for a game which seems to have so many issues if not.

use the following to get hard badge:
day 1: all about luck, try to get at least 2 000 by staying alive as long as possible. Use money to upgrade radar, fuel sucker, fuel tank, rest of the money evenly into left / right rockets and launcher.
day2: use radar and rockets to stay alive as long as possible, if you can survive 5 minutes you can get hard badge easy. Use money to upgrade launcher, e-rockets and comrades as best you can.
day 3: no need for rockets, drop comrades at 0 feet, if you run out of speed used e-rockets to get to mars
