wonder why blobs, flying demons, giant mashmalows, fireballs, and hot air balloons would atack my ship in the first place.........

I did better when I was using only artillery than when I was trying to upgrade things.. On another note, why are dinosaurs, birds, blobs of goo, balls of fire, balloons, and for the love of god MARSHMALLOWS want to board your damaged ship?

From what I saw up until I completed two rounds, it felt pretty random how many monsters spawned per map, meaning it pretty much goes down to luck. I went from $1,700 short in game one to $600 over in game 2 despite the fact that I took damage during game 2. Wave 6 in particular had an absurd amount of mobs the second game. I've also found first map could give anywhere from $1,200 to $2,000.

after unlocking the magnet just hover over the little rolley things without anything selected and it will apear as your cursor

The flaw with the hard badge is that a random number of enemies spawn each day. I've only upgraded the rusty nail and artillery and twice I've been about 2000 short of the last repair.

People asking for "hot keys" dont understand the point of the game. Whilst hot keys would make the game easier, it would also eliminate all the challenge. A simple and very enjoyable game as is!

Pirate: Uhhh, captain I was just wondering... Where exactly were all of those turrets and bombs coming from? And what happened to all of the gold we got from those monsters?
Captain: I be buyin' all our surplies from de Walmart on the other side of this 'ere island.
Pirate:... You mean we could have been sleeping in a safe enclosed shelter every night instead
of taking turns keeping watch for monsters on a broken ship?
And this is where we enter the scene at the end of the game.

This game is fun and original. The graphics are well suited to its very lighthearted style. The author's sense of humor is apparent throughout (even the loading screen has a joke).

Fun, but short game. I like the fact that each enemy requires a specific weapon. However, hotkeys would make the weapons a lot easier to access. The game was too short and quite simple, but an enjoyable game nonetheless.

arrgh, didn't finish until day 12 because I had to repair the boat a little, them birds are hard to get when you're using a laptop trackpad :<

To get the hard badge, I followed the strategy of only buying the golden nail and the artillery. I finished repairs at the end of day 11 with ~$3500 left to spare, so you could probably also afford to upgrade the water or the flames, but not both (I recommend the water). YMMV.

Neat game, but the controls make it nigh-impossible on a laptop with all the different ways needed to kill enemies. One single day reduced me from an untouched ship to a destroyed ship. No save feature makes this frustrating.

I've noticed people still having trouble with the hard badge even with my guide! People are saying to not buy the gold nail and the random factor. I replayed the game (good times :P) and I still managed to complete it within 11 days doing exactly what I wrote in my guide. I do believe there IS a random factor, but I don't think it'll affect you too much since I won again with over 2k gold left. I still believe the gold nail is a must. Letting monsters hit you will reduce the amount of gold you could have potentially had. One new final tip that I can offer which I think is REALLY important is to not go crazy with artillery as soon as you see the red golems. Those golems are really slow. Wait for the semi-fast birds to enter the map before using your artillery! Using your artillery as soon as you see a red golem enter the map is a complete waste of 20 gold since you could have potentially used a bird's bomb later. That's all I could help after playing the game a second time. Good luck!

yay struggled through a game for a badge that seems to be impossible to get no matter how many 100s of enemies you kill

After day one finished and I had killed zero blobs I figured either everyone that did get a badge was totally hardcore, or I did something wrong. I tried stabbing those blobs by releasing the nail when I was on the blob. It took me far too long to understand I was supposed to drag the nail over the blobs.

what the hell? i follow the instructions in the top comments to the letter, never waste any money on repairs and only use the arty when i absolutely have to and by the end of day 11 i'm still 6k off? why game? why?

Hard Badge Guide (Revised): 1. Buy only Artillery. 2. Do not buy Gold Nail. 3. Repair ship with rest of money. Being one of those who tried the popular Artillery + Gold Nail only strategies, killed everything and timed bird bomb drops to save Arty money, I nonetheless got screwed by randomisation and came up 2K short on day 11. So I went even more bare-bones with an Artillery-only strategy. (4 pokes for each slow-moving balloon isn't too bad.) Worked on second try with 3K to spare, would not have succeeded if I bought the Nail.
