Hey ive got an idea, why not do "Seas" ? theres hundreds of them! e.g. Red sea, Caspian sea, Carribean sea, Scotia sea, Ross sea, lincoln sea, Irish sea, Celtic sea, Aegean sea, Greenland sea, Sea of Okhotsk, Bering Sea, Norwegian Sea, Labrador sea Tasman sea etc etc etc. Would be awesome to learn all of those like i learned all the countries through your games :)

Ah, Galapagos! But, uhm, why? I mean, they're world-famous, but they're a regular part of Ecuador. Many many countries have world-famous areas and/or islands then.

What is bonus #2? I still haven't figured out (I have 1: French Guiana, 2: Falkland/Malvinas, 3: South Georgia/Sandwich)

Well, stomped all of the games so far. Only one I had trouble on was Africa and one country in Asia (Dam you Kyrgyzstan)

french guiana seems like it should just be coloured in, rather than a "bonus answer", unless France itself is an answer.
@OneBurntWitch Hi there, I get your point. France is actually an answer but in the Europe game of course :) So I understand it can seem not that logical. But it's a choice... I think it will help players to remember this specific information. The only country so far appearing on two games is Russia (Europe and Asia) because it's so huge :)

Why does every continent need to be a different game? Surely it'd make more sense to have it all in one game with different maps contained within it.
@BlobMcBloc Hi there, there are several reasons: less loading time, easier to debug and update, easier to deal with the comments (especially the political ones), if a player type "South America" or "U.S. States" in the search bar, it's easier to find the game and so on :) Actually, we will maybe update them with extra gameplay (like place the country on the map for example) and we try to release one each week to make it a little event.

In all these games, I'd like to know the number of bonus answers to find (like, when you find one, it's said "#2 of 8" or something). I can never be sure how many there are, and I end up looking through the comments to see if someone has written them all down. (And then next time I play, I forgot how many they were, so I have to search again!)

I was brainstorming answers when it came down to the 13th country; Falklands, French Guiana, Isla Aves, etc. until I started typing random caribbean countries and got Trinidad and Tobago. That's pretty unfair considering it's not affiliated with South America at all. Please remove Trinidad and Tobago from this quiz.

I'm from one of the ABC islands and I'm offended you consider us part of south america. More proper bonus answers would be "isla aves" which belongs to Venezuela. I know this is a game, but please either make a Caribbean guess islands or remove inaccuracies or add a note that we belong to the Caribbean.
Thank you.
@cheapshotm3 Hi there, see mistake and no offense. It's not that bad being South American you know :) BUT, of course, will be fixed in the next update.

You meant geologically correct, but when you ask for the political map of South America, as your game implies they are lacks of information, such as: Trinidad and Tobago is from the Central America & Caribbean Sea political group, and not from the South, every citizen from that part of the Americas would know that.
So when you ask for bonus asnwers you meant to be: Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçau, South Georgia and Sandwich Islands, Rapa Nui and the Fernando de Noronha Achipélago as long with the Falklands.
@427Rods Hi there, we got some comments like yours that's why we add the ingame disclaimer. But we will change it in the next update I think (if we can reset the leaderboard). And we'll add more bonus answers (ABC islands, South Georgia and Sandwich are already here). Thanks for the feedback! :)

I've just come from the incorrectly titled Guess Countries: US States. Now playing South America, I'm realizing your series is little more than an interactive map, not a game. Uniqueness, variety and user experience are qualities Kongregate thrives on, and your projects display no effort in any of these areas. You've cut and paste portions of a digital atlas, and that's nothing to be congratulated for as a game developer. On another site, I'd give you praise for creating helpful tool and fun distraction, but Kongregate is probably the wrong forum for your efforts. 1/5.

Would love to see another "Play Mode": A country name appears, and you have 5 seconds to drag and release the name over the proper country, continuing through all 13 in a random order. 3 strikes and the game ends. (It's both a different play option, and helps people to learn the country names first, rather than get tripped up on exact spelling - that could be the next challenge once the basic names are learned.) Other than that, great to see an educational game! Great job!

gregocorominas: Last time I checked you lost the war for the Falkland Islands, an in international affairs strength is the only thing that matters. Yes, there are cooperative efforts that pool strength against individually stronger nations, and may chose to "protect" military weaker nations, but in this case Argentina lost the war and did not manage to take the islands from Great Britain. I would go so far as to claim "contested", but the political support for Argentines claim on these islands are politically weaker than Russias annexation of Crimea, the difference being that Russia has nuclear weapons and Putin is mad enough to use them if it gives him a chance to stay in power.
@SergeantJack Hi there, there is a note about that in the game and we wanted a little challenge here. It's one of those countries which can be considered to be between two continents :)
@hugoooo Hi there, if you're talking about the whole world, we will do it. If you're talking about a full game, it has been explained below: less loading time, easier to track bugs and update, rating less affected by political thoughts... There are many arguments pro several games :)

Why is French Guiana a "bonus" answer if it's on the mainland, but Trinidad is an actual answer when it's an island? :(
@jsrodman Hi there, no actually: geologically because it's on the South American plate (not sure of the word in English). 80 % of the time, it's located in North America. And we needed a bit of challenge here :)

Trinidad & Tobago!!! no way!!! is the same if you make an asian quiz and put Russia just because appears in the map. And if you accept "malvinas" as an answer, please be gentle and put "Falkland Islands (Malvinas Argentinas)".
@cheksnto Hi there. Well... hmm... But we plan to add Russia in the Asian quiz... It's just a choice. The final goal is to have the entire world in one game. We used Falklands because it's the name of the page on Wikipedia.
@ALLANIS Hi there, it could have been but there were strong arguments pro several games: less loading time, easier to track bugs and update, rating less affected by political thoughts... Also, people who type U.S. States in the search bar will find the proper game this way :) BUT, when all the games will be developped we are thinking about making a downloadable full PC game. For the moment, we'll just try to make it a little event each week ^^

Trinidad and Tobago is a Caribbean nation and thus part of North America. I know being tricky is fun for this type of stuff but you're teaching people inaccurate information.
@pmt817 Hi there, as stated below: it's the ultimate answer for this quiz. We wanted to keep it to add some challenge (and it's geologically accurate). We will probably add a note in the game in an update (edit: just uploaded).

@time2012 Good idea, will be in the next update! Thanks for your feedback :)
[edit] ABC Islands will not be part of the quiz in the next update (we keep it for North America as we remove Trinidad too)

I can see your reasoning but as this quiz concerns the physical continent of South America it's a bit weird to leave French Guiana out. Oh well, nice game, thanks for making it.
