if i was in the zombie apocalypse i wouldnt care about being respectful to a desk that i could tear apart with a hammer
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
An old beaten up desk... herm... I have a hammer, but I think ill go on a mindless quest for a key, surely this trusty hammer cant get through what has to be rotten wood, no hammer could! AH MORE ZOMBIES! To bad this hammer isnt a crowbar, you cant swing a hammer at a zombie. Whats this, a locked door? Made of thin worn wood? To bad my hammer is useless in this situation too. DAMN YOU HAMMER!

Why would you put bandages in a safe? "OMG im bleeding to death!" Wait here while i get the bandages , let me open the safe first ARGH i forgot the code , to the kitchen!"
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The hammer is really underrated this game. Drawer? HAMMER! Zombie in the basement? HAMMER! Zombie hands sticking out window? HAMMER!

"Hmmm there's something shiny in the hole, I need to fill it up with water." *Fills hole with water from pot* "Hmmm I wonder if there is a way to release this water?"
WTF DO YOU WANT FROM ME?

1) Enter game get hammer + nail, add hammer to nail, nail door next to fuse box. Turn to fridge get magnet. Move to first room, get curtain, rod & clamp. Move to table, get basement key from left drawer. Go back to kitchen, open basement, get nail. Go back to main floor, add hammer to nail, barricade window. Guest room, open small cabinet to get fuse, get blanket, add blanket to curtain. Bath room, get extension cord & pan. Go back to kitchen, put fuse into last slot, remove fuse, put into middle slot. Go to basement, put clamp to gas line. Get bedroom key from dead, get Tarp, add Tarp to tied blankets. Go to Bedroom, open with key, get blanket, power drip & fishing hook. Add hook to curtain rod. Add blanket to tied blankets (4 tied blankets now).

A straw cabinet... *looks at hammer* hmm... *looks at cabinet* *looks back at hammer* I think I'll need to get the water out of this basement floor replace the fuse so i can use the outlet and find a power drill to open this cabinet. Thank goodness I have this hammer to keep me company.

2) Rod + hook, open attic, hammer to take off brick, throw extension cord down. Plug extension cord to power, go back to attic, take off bar with power drill. Throw tied blankets out, go to car, grab rubber boots, sump pump pipe, desk key, fishing float, turn headlights on. Go to bath room, add float to magnet, throw down pipe, pour water in, get car key. Go to car, open car drawer to get rubber gloves. Go to desk, get pen & paper.

"I need to write the combo down or I'll never remember it." Apparently remembering 3 numbers is problematic for our protagonist.

I didnt know the average zombie surviving joe had the logic of a child who was dropped hundreds of times....now let me try to use my hammer to break that cabinet again oh wait...

3) Go to kitchen, fuse box, remove fuse, put to last slot. Go to basement, put sump pump pipe in, turn on with rubber glove. Drain basement. Go to cage, open with power drill, get bino & fuse. Go back to fuse box, put in fuse, go to car, use bino to look at cabinet door, use pen & paper to get the combo. Go back to safe, get spark plugs, get bandage, get cash, go back to car, use car key...

is it even possible to barricade the window even if there's clearly zombies sticking their hands out?are they like gentlemen zombies that lets you keep them out of the way?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Zombie 1 "Oh, look a guy is comin through the attic to the van on which we can climb up on to, or push down"
Zombie 2 "Isn't that the same guy that borded the windows while we were standing still with our hands inside the house. Well we are peaceful zombies, and respect every living creature, even if it does strange things."
Zombie 1 "Typical human being..."

If this is what it takes to survive during a zombie apocalypse... I'd rather die. Eat me, former friends and neighbors, this ain't worth it.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Okay, I can sort of understand not being able to smash the zombie in the basement with a hammer... hammers have to be underrated to make point-and-clicks difficult. But what about the frying pan? Whacking stuff is what frying pans were MADE for!

That van has a really strange design. I don't think it's usually possible to put spark plugs into the engine while sitting in the driver's seat.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
(few spoilers ahead) So the dude had flushed his keys down the toilet to prevent thugs from stealing his car that had the spark plugs locked in a safe with the combination outside with zombies. "oh no thugs, what if one of them finds my power drill, goes in to my attic, breaks my chimney, uses an extension cord to open a hole over my van and uses the various sources of cloth to make a rope to my van and finally learns the combination to my safe. Well if he doesn't have pen and paper he won't be able to remember it but why take the risk better flush my keys.

hmmm..... there is something shiny in the drain that may be a useful. I have a magnet that i could use to grab it but its too far down.. darn, its a shame that I cant tie it to the long extention cord I have or the two bedsheets that i randomly tied together to lower it down oh well..

The thing with the notes is annoying. Is he so preoccupied in remembering his last moments that he has to take precious time to write down recent events? Also, the transition between areas is creepy at first, but can get irritating when you forget something halfway across the house and have to sit through three of them, one after the other. Otherwise, great game, and I'd like to see a sequel with a more developed story.

so the desk drawer key is in the van, the van key is the drain, the basement key is in the closet, to use the combo you have to write it down, there's random notes from dying people everywhere even though the pen and paper are in the drawer, you cant find the combo until you find the note from the non moving zombie brother in the basement and finally you have to put the spark plugs in from INSIDE THE VAN.......5/5

"I cant operate that with my bare hands, I'll get electrocuted!"
"You fill the (metal) pot with (electrified) water."
^ Doesn't work.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
"I remain"? More like "I remain in complete denial of the usefulness of a hammer" Apart from that though, great. Although the electricians gloves in the car did scare me when I first saw them.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
certainly makes vehicle maintenance easier when you can replace the spark plugs directly from the interior center console.

One thing I dislike about adventure games, is quite a few of them largely disregard logic and common sense. It's true what everyone says about the hammer. Not only that, but one could simply tie the extension cord around the magnet.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Oh no! zombies! let's get inside. But what about the van? Oh I know, let pull the spark plugs off and put it in the safe so THE ZOMBIES WOULDN'T STEAL IT!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
OK now I'm ready to escape. All I need to do is use this small clamp that I have the strength to open to pinch the copper pipe that feeds propane to the fire place... Wait... Um... How the hell is this supposed to work again? I mean maybe if I use the hammer to break the pipe than that would work but a small clamp? don't see that working any time soon...

To get the badge, saved on final screen then refresh browser and reload/continue.
Cant say i enjoyed this, did not like the item interactions, some very strange forced combinations.would have stopped playing way before the end if not for the badge of the day
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Pretty good game, but it was annoying how some items wouldn't work even though it's perfectly reasonable, like tying the rope to the magnet to get the key.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
3 things:
1. As said many times before me, almost every solution in the game is possible with the hammer.
2. You seriously don't have the memory capacity to remember a 6 digit code?
3. The box made of weak wood in the basement (that you conveniently need a drill to open, rather than the hammer) contains the two things important to your escape! HUZZAH!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
"So sore. So hungry... That gang came and stole all of my weapons, beat me to a pulp and left me here for dead. I hid the keys to my van, otherwise they would have tried to take it, it's the only way I can escape, even though it won't work without the..." WITHOUT THE WHAT? I NEED TO KNOW!!!

If the badge isn't unlocking for you, save the game on the end screen and refresh. When you reload the save the badge should unlock.
I had to do this to get my badge.

Game designers take note: This game is much more fun because it doesn't insist on killing you off every twenty seconds. I hate when trial-and-error puzzle games do that; it interrupts the game's flow. Good game.
