Best tip I can give is to try to gather up all the students in a corner and then make a break for the opposite corner trying to lose them. I prefer going from top-right to bottom-left. Also, I find mouse works better for movement but you need to be careful of having the pointer exactly where you want to go and not on the other side of a wall because it's not telling him the direction to walk in but where to go.

whew, made it. i was using the keys to move around and wasn't able to get through. switched to just using the pointer with the mouse and was able to do it on one try.

TRIED gathering everyone up and moving them away from various spots but the freaking "group cap" on people who would follow me kept messing me up and the fact that even when I did lead people away and lose them they didn't STAY in the area I moved them to made this so very, very frustrating I gave up on it after getting to the "keep reading" line five times only to fail because ONE PERSON wouldn't LEAVE ME ALONE. Maybe I'll come back and try later, I want to see how this game goes but the slow reading speed combined with the "group cap" makes this more frustrating than fun to me.

For those who are having difficulty
the best strategy is to walk around and find spaces where there aren't students and read as much as you can at a time until someone eventually shows up, if you are being followed just keep walking and going around lockers and you should lose them.
