The scoring in this game is broken beyond belief. I just finished a 7 tile city that I had 2 Paladins in and an opponent had one Paladin. My opponent scored over 2K for the city. That is not how the game works. I should have scored the only points for that city since I had the controlling number of Men in it. Game is fun, but lots of scoring bugs that make no sense.

I really enjoy this game online and in real life but this game needs way better controls... Wish you flip the tiles the way you want and sometimes you accidentally place tiles which is so annoying

Experiencing these repeated problems/concerns: Have been experiencing my opponent receiving my points instead of myself, have received my opponents points instead of mine, have had high point scores that are not posting for "TODAY", all reported repetitively still ongoing.

Some tips if you're looking for a high score - R rotates tiles. You get bonus points for building large constructions with other players (the more pieces in your road or castle, the more bonus points you get - into the tens of thousands for very large constructions! I normally control 2 players when I play as the computer goes for land too much. Helping the computer actually helps you get more points, as they then have more men to play.

Some of the comments posted here have been very helpful. I enjoy this game even if it is not exactly the same. Thank you for hosting the game here.

Decent knock off. Needs a bit of an explanation of the scoring. Not sure how I got over 5000 points in one game. The tiles need controls so you can easily flip them for better placement. I love the board game but this is a decent replacement for a quick fix.

I have seen many times where I could get a lot of points but the game wont let me turn the piece, so its stuck facing the wrong direction

Overall good graphics and close reproduction of the original game (though only using one of the rule sets for fields ;) - the sounds are a bit clunky and the interface also - scrolling with arrow keys or wasd would be much appreciated - could also do with zooming out a little, can't see much of even a tightly packed board. Could also do with variable number of cards/expansion packs :) Otherwise nice game, look forward to seeing what you update this with and other games you make :)

Besides needing a tutorial, I suggest color coding the game pieces so you can tell whose are whose, and if possible making it so when you hover your mouse over them, they tell you what bonuses they are giving. (Same info you get before you place but so you can remind yourself.) Hope to see an update someday.

I play board gamers often, and I believe I've played Carcassone at least once. But I'm not one of those people who needs a refresher so an actual tutorial or detailed instructions would be appreciated. Seems the tutorial button doesn't work, at least not for me. I'm running Firefox. But great job at cloning the game, like that I can play online now :)

It's not exactly like the board game, but it's a great start. I can't get enough of this game! I do think they need better AI's though.

I own the Board game and love playing it, but i've never been sure i pronounce the name right. I pronounce it Carcass-own.

Nothing to do with the original boardgame which I´ve played so much. Followers are confusing: mine, theirs? Is it a knight, a peasant? Maybe bacteria. I missed also more complex game, this is just the basic. Expansions make this game great. Where are they?

Many bugs. Map drag&droping, pawn duplication when two on road/city are calculated, i think there is problem with scoring farmers. But still good game, fine graphics and music.

AI puts too much emphasis on Land Control using peasants and don't pay nearly enough attention to making cities and scoring points that way... or roads for that matter. You can beat the computer easy if you make the board as spread out as possible and grab as many cities as possible, closed or unclosed.

"Play alone or with friends in Hotseat mode" - well... what's the hotseat mode, and how to play with someone else then?

This game could be fun if only there was somewhere to get explanations of the figures, tiles, scoring. OH wait, there isn't any info at all! One star for making me guess how to play.

To answer Redbaron, you can tell what is yours by the color of the man you place down. That's how it is in the board game as well. If you don't place a guy down, it doesn't matter, since the tile isn't "owned by anyone, regardless of who puts it down. But CableXD is correct. The scoring on this game is insane to the point of making it pointless to even keep score. Nothing makes sense from one game to the next, and the rules are completely ignored when the games does the final tally.

Definitely needs some work when you end up in tie situations -- I was playing three computer opponents and three of us had a guy on an 8 tile road -- I got 3200 points and 15 people! But I like how it shows where tiles can be played and the unplayable positions. And the animations where it builds the castle or road are pretty cool.

This needs a "rotate tile" button, the d-pad should be used to move the map around too, cause sometimes you place a tile by accident and avoiding that is annoying as hell. It also needs less of the screen wasted on these huge player icons (maybe they should be moved to the upper part of the screen instead of the side; it needs a legend of the available pieces and so on and so forth.

Pretty meh implementation of a great game. The controls are really awkward, and it's way too hard to tell who is in what territory. Why styleize the characters? Just show me which player they belong to in a quick and intuitive way (like in the board game).

More tiles, please moooooree Tiileees :)
Anyway, a zoom or something would be nice. I just play by my ruler-instinct, when it comes to check if i have any more followers left.

Entertaining! Would benefit from the expansion packs with rivers, bridges and other add-on's like the version on xbox360

Won with 300 more points. The ai could be smarter though I have played the real game with my friends so for "experienced" player it must be easier

This was a great way to figure out how to play the boardgame, whih my sister bought the other day. It was fun, but now I understand a little more about the strategy, even though the scoring is quite a bit different than the boardgame. It's a great game!
