Hi there, Nice game, had a fun day playing, but also have a problem with expansion office and berries, as mentioned in comments above. They just don't come to ships, although there are lots of them produced everywhere around. Maybe there is some kind of bug or mislogic.
Hmm, to elaborate - were storage for berries filled? Or there are just lots of berry pickers? (I kind of assume they were filled, will double check logic there).

Hi, i have an issue, my expansion office doesn't get berries to my colony, every other items are there exept for the berries, is that a bug or should the markets be full before they can get them?
Do you have enough berries? For expansion office to use them, you should be kind of flooding berries, otherwise they don't take, otherwise local population might starve.

I understand that you can't support Firefox for this game, that's not my problem. My problem is that a game that people using one of the main browsers can't play got badges. This is a complaint against Kongregate, not the developer.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Absolutely adore the game. Kind of odd to me that so many items can't be transported in any markets (like iron, for example). Also, the "research X" badges don't recognize things I've already researched and that seems suboptimal to me. I'm fine replaying the game entirely to get the badges but it seems that I shouldn't be penalized for having completed all of my research before the badges were added.
I am glad you are enjoying the game! About badge - Updated game. Now under settings there is "Missing badge?" menu. This allows to sync your game progress with Kongregate again and you should get the badges. Please send me PM if you still happen to have issues with badges.

Can I have a button off to the side for zoom? On a laptop, it seems to decide somewhat randomly when mouse scroll exists and zooms way in. After mashing my touchpad a lot, it might zoom out to the max, making everything too small. Or nothing happens and I have lots of unnecessary map dragging to do. It doesn't need to be mandatory for all players, just an enable-able option for a button in the options menu.

Very fun game but the 2nd road upgrade wiped out my whole population lol. Assuming it was due to the fact the people couldn't use the road while it was upgrading and last manual save was at start of game(almost 5 hrs earlier). By time noticed population was dropping was too late had 20 left. Possible to have an auto save use a save slot every 15 mins or something maybe?

Pretty decent overall, but just a little bit too rough to play much more. A number of little things (too numerous to mention) that were on this side of frustrating.

WTF?
I expected fresh water to be better than seawater?

@Forhekset - Most web browsers have a Zoom feature. Set your zoom to less than 100%, and it may be playable. Mine is set to 67%.

Great, a new game with badges I can't play because it doesn't support Firefox. Why badge a game if one of the main browsers doesn't support it?
I tried hard to support Firefox, but just can't. For a browser based game it uses unusually big maps and lots of objects - all this causes issues for Firefox memory management which is not yet optimized for such workflow. I keep regularly testing this game against Firefox, as soon as it becomes playable, I will enable it. Cities on this game get big with thousands of citizens.

what do you have to do to build the bridge? I have plenty of bricks but all the bridge shows is just a red section, nothing being built. Help please

I gotta say, NOTHING is funnier in this game than when you place a cow farm in the middle of a field and it explodes with dead cows.
These are OP guys. You could upload screenshot to some online image bank (google "upload image online") and send me a link. i would love to take a look.
What is your screen resolution? It doesn't work well on very small screens, that is true. You could try full screen option by pressing "f" (thought that also is limited on some devices, not sure by what criteria yet) :)

Loving this game so far. I just wanted to suggest if there could be a button on farms that would autofill unused land spaces within their work range with the resource they collect. Would be a nice little quality of life.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I have this “Quality of Life” proposition. As its an idle game, players won’t constantly play actively. Thus, in some cases a player can leave the game running and do something else. In situation like this the player would want some informative background message to tell them when to return to the game. The “Great scientists” dialog window does this perfectly as it shows how much research is left to be produced before the player can return to active play. The negative here is that, after a minute the “Background mode active” window hides this and makes it impossible to know what are the values behind it. Yes, the overall percent under it is still visible, but in my humble opinion it would be better for the top. I would also add that the moment I’m having this problem is while having unlocked only four researches – carpentry, farming, water and mining. I suppose when they increase the window would also increase but currently the “background mode active” hides them.

I ever tell you about the time Keith and I made fireworks? Now, I didn't know shit about chemistry, but Keith figured "Gasoline burns, doesn't it?" Heh, third-degree burns on 95 percent of his body. Man, people in the next city over were calling to complain about the smell of burning skin.

Edit: I can make it appear if I have it selected and scroll over an area where you cannot build, i.e. Mountains, Undiscovered areas, or cliffs. Seems like a very specific glitch.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Not sure if this is only me, but the Sand Mine is not working. When selected it doesn't actually give me anything to place. I was assuming "no sprite" meant it would appear similar to the chocolate factory, but it doesn't allow me to place anything at all.
Aside from that bug, this is a very solid game. I have enjoyed getting to this point and I hope it soon can be fixed so I can further advance.

Love the upcoming improvements! Can't wait!
Suggestions for future update:
Helium Factory
Airship Yard
Airship (travels slow, can carry more resources than ships, 5% chance to explode, destroying anything in a 5x5 radius)
Hermit Cabin (a refuge for antisocial citizens, attacks people who pass nearby)
Magic Mushroom Farm(on consuming mushrooms, people wander aimlessly. If they stumble into a research building, provides 3x bonus stacked on building’s current)
Political Campaign Office
Politician (Consumes 100x resources of normal citizen, Provides a 2% production bonus to 3 other “loyal” citizens)
Suggested release date: 31 February

Doesn't work with Safari. It loads and displays the map but as soon as I try to do anything it falls over so bad Safari reloads the page.
I see the remarks about memoty management but it's a simple 2D game using tiles, it should be able to run on any vaguely recent browser. Maybe when it gets going the number of objects will cause performance problems on older PCs, but it's crashing for me before it even gets started.
Thank you for letting me know. When I removed one of the Firefox limitations, it enabled Safari and didn't show proper message anymore. Updating game with this soon. About 2D, I agree. I see you are 3d developer which is great, maybe you know how to improve this :). Safari does not allow big canvases, but I use rather big offscreen canvases to make rendering really fast (with the cost of memory). It seemed only way to do mouse scroll and zooming of the map performant (in a browser!). if you have any ideas or tips on this front, please let me know. I am all ears :) (but please remember mouse scroll+zoom, that seems to be the main thing that puts off most techniques I have read about.)

When the whole world is in great harmony and 5500 people are balanced and happy, and you unlock University and make chippers and paper mills to gain the 30x research. Suddenly 5500 people are dying of thirst! xD Let them buuurn!! I'm still making progress!!! Lol. Really, it's too complex to balance with the metrics we're given. I can think and analyze forever, but I can’t follow the HUGE paths of, for example, water.. One tiny tweak, everyone dies. If ya want complex and "thinking" about strategy and balance, we need individual path views of where the resources are going so we can adjust accordingly. Networks of markets and expanded capacities and wheely carts to move faster, great! But I need to be able to follow the path from a bucket of water to the other side of the continent, and possibly even across the export ship to the tiny island that's making my world's clay... Unique views per resource. Kinda can't keep balance without it. Mostly guessing hit and miss otherwise at end-game
I love that idea to keep track on from where resources come from. Obviously each "item" can't be tracked, as they don't really exist (storage is just a number). But what could be done is that markets/harbours keep track from where they imported what and how much. (and hence also exports via reverse check). That would be realy cool to see I think - trade map of a resource, to where resources move. I will think about it how I can implement it.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@DracoBlackwing Later you will get bigger houses that keep food, water, resources at home. Also buildings that are "hubs" for resources (markets). If your huts/small houses are starving/dying of thirst, for now you need to keep them close enough to the resource they're lacking. If they wont walk down the road, usually the road is too long.
As far as increasing MAX research values, it varies on era. Basically, figure that building more of your best research/tech building does the trick. I had the same confusion early one. Even googled it! Hahah. First, "Free Thinking range", then Memory stones are really big when you can unlock them. Next era every "research" tech dramatically increases max research, not just by building their buildings, but also upgrading them in upgrades. Hope this helps a bit. Good luck!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Also, how does one increase the max number for their research? I have things wanting 150 of two types, but I don't have the ability to produce those numbers. What am I doing wrong?
I assume early game, in that case just make more thinking huts. As an added hint, buildings can be moved around freely without almost any negative effect.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I must be one of those 'no brain' people you talked about. My town is coming along very, very slowly, but I'm out of space and research into new things is almost at a standstill. I also keep seeing that, despite being near food and water sources, my people keep saying they're starving... just for a while. Then it goes away without any visible negative effects. It's like they're too lazy to go out of the house, and are laying around groaning about the lack of food when it's right outside and down the road a bit. I feel like I'm missing something important, but can't wrap my head around exactly what that might be.

Iron Mining upgrade level 1: 10 million mining research!!! HA!!!!! I know that's a ridiculous place-holder for future updates. Almost got the 200k research for the last Tech research, then there's nothing left to do. Also made your top score on population and jobs recently. :D Great game! Looking forward to updates! Gonna need more land to do anything further though.... Lol
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Small Garage for wheel barrows with adjacency made me really mad here... as most of the buildings are 4x4 having this 1x1 that must be together simply doesn´t fit with any city organization as it forces a whole line on the markets block...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@graf: best to just take the loss and NOT use any of the research points -> then the thinking range will fill up and the brick production will become available for building

I love games like this, I always have...
But this game, although clever, infuriates me. Once i unlocked the next area after finally figuring out how to build a bridge, i can't move the correct resources close enough, and even after all the building and laying out everything, i can't get workers to go to any of the building; i've tried building closer houses, food, water, and basic resource collectors; absolutely nothing works. It's a fun idea of a game, but sadly i cannot approve of this game. I hate that i finally found a game that i could really spend a lot of time on, just to be screwed out of my first expansion by people not wanting to work....because reasons.
4.5/10 (would give much higher, but citizens have to actually work...)
Thank you for pointing these things out, I will see what I can do to improve this. First expansion is quite a challenge. I just released an update that gives lots of tips about game play. Have you unlocked trading? that massively helps to distribute resources. One more thing that comes to my mind - are there enough people to fill all the jobs?
We had slight problem with saves today, but it should be resolved now. If anyone happens to still have issue with this, please send me private message.

This shouldn't be a browser game. Your options are use Firefox, which garbage collects (like java, which lags while it does it) or chromium, which goes hog wild with how much resources it'll take up. It isn't about optimization, it is about which browser is willing to set your PC on fire.
I'll wait on an outside executable.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Just use "User-Agent Switcher and Manager" addon in Mozilla Firefox an select any "Chrome" settings. It's a bit slow, but you can play that game.
Nice trick! :) It has this "lag" every few seconds because of Firefox garbage collection kicking in and freezing the game for 40-50ms. I can't seem to find a solution to this, if anyone knows something about it, please PM me :). I didn't want to release with that lag. Otherwise yeah, it seemed to work :)

How do i make a good not be used for research? I want my clay to go to bricks, but theres a free thinking range nearby "eating" it. I wish the free thinking to use only stones, not the clay
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I have literally exploded in rage at this game. It is not doing what it is supposed to do.
They have berry bushes, yet they keep starving.
They have water, yet they keep going thirsty.
They have stone (and the mason), yet they won't harvest it.
They have wood...
Yet they will not build the huts (or any other buildings) or stop starving.
And I cannot do research either - I have 25/25 of Fish, but there is no green research in the top drop down bar.
I have WOODCRAFTING, FORAGING, STONE WORKING, but nothing else will unlock.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Why won't they build what I want? I have all the pathways built and access to materials and enough people. But they won't build my huts! Also, how do you research because I have enough for Carpentry and Farming research but there's no way to access them via the building - I can see they are at 100! HELP NOW! HELP NOW! HELP NOW!
About why they don't build, it is a bit hard to say remotely. Could be because you don't have stone maybe? Research, top menu there is research, click that one and then for "green RESEARCH" text. This will get you your first research.
Thank you for helping me to resolve this. We had a bit of an issue with players who were not logged in at Kongregate". They shared a same cloud "slot". Issue resolved now!
