I have a problem. I can't seem to get people to employ for wood cutter, when everyone else works for farm. Lets say, I have 1,000 people working for farm. (Full) And I have just the right amount of wood cutter building to equal 1,000 max wood cutters. But I DON'T... I'll say again, DON'T have anyone employing. Please add buttons to Hire/Fire +100, +1000, or max.
There is a small bug if you have maxed food. Will deal with it with next update this weekend. (But this is really really small and doesn't affect actual gameplay. There is maximum stock. The number shows value like maximum stock = shown value + usage. You see max value - this tick usage. (Hope you got it, it is a bit hard to explain :p)

the worker management upgrade is to expensive, wood production is far to low compared to the number of workers, and people eat too much food, in fact they eat so much food you can't farm any other recourse without your people dying. did any of the devs even play this?
It is normal and expected that your population dies a bit from time to time. They will recover rather quickly and it will keep finding the "balance", but will be quite hard to really find it. That hopefully makes it much more fun, because in this game you can really go and kill 1billion people with a single famine or conquers. Let me know if you have any other problems :)

I guess that nobody noticed anything odd with the numbers related to population growth and workers count? Well unless the reason behind it is that you can hire impaired people but well xxx.1 would be like hiring ones man hand only or sth.. and for xxx.4 it would be like 'honey we're going to have a nice little pair of baby legs!'.

same problem again, no matter how cautious/slow i build out and try, out of the blue i go from +10 milllion tools/cars a year, to -5 million a year, without adding a farm, or any big food gains on war. Stuck

at that population level, relying on wars to decimate your population will leave a large span of no births, which eventually enrages out the game and drops you back to 1k population (at least it did for me)... so i had to carefully cultivate from that 1k to a stable pop.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
correct, i accidentally also had the "people buy more tools" mutation selected, which explained that problem. and yes, when i removed the birthrate mutation, my population became normal again. Thanks. Great work and responses on your game by the way

sorry, that last bit was going with sharkhunter's complaint on tools/car production for labs/weapons. my file is already rising back back to neg production so.... just give yourself 140billion food production (and the population to consume it all) and.... let's say, 1k tools, 1k med, 600 cars, 50 lab, 50 weapons. then try to upgrade your lab or weapons and you'll see my headache.

i had to murder my population several times before i found the balance to keep them alive. the fact that wars will obliterate your male population while leaving females intact didn't help at all. even so, due to the sheer number of people and costs, i am basically sacrificing days of progress to get my weapons factory up a little more.

sorry, but even dropping my farms to 0 gets me no tools/cars/medicine. get to a point where i guess my income from invasions on food is high. Sucks only way to fix this is to reset, too soon not enough genes

with the way the game is now, before you start growing huge, crank up your weapon factories and research centers early, and leave them at 10%. once you start growing, there is no way to get positive tool/car production to ever, ever make anymore again.

I do agree the game needed some rebalance though the one you have done right now is too big. The only bonus that really matters are your bonus to att that is right now about 3*ln(x)-some contant that slowly goes up (in the 0 to e31 interval it is from 7-20), could use x^(1/4) (for like x>100000)that still grows slow but will not make you come to a stall

i think... if you want to make things logarithmic, you should have a point where it swaps to linear since at the high end, your changes are greatly felt...
I know it hurts your game, because you were really really far. Sorry about it :(
By the way, the save you sent I think you didn't conquer other countries. Conquer other countries also for extra resource boost.

@Massu1005 : The key to preventing this is to make sure that you keep excess unemployed workers, at least until you get research centers and further set up. These act as a buffer so that when your population decreases it pulls from these unnecessary rolls first.

personally like the new update with genetics, it does however mean you can make your population and with that income explode and so you get make quintrillion(10^18? or close to that) and that is where the game breaks right now, so pls make the numbers go higher or tells if that is your intended max “level”?

Main problem is that you can end up in doward spiral. Less food means less workers means production of cars/tools stops which in turn if you run out of them means less food which means even less workers. Dont know how to work around that. Once you can ajust worker levels this can be alleviated by stopping wood production for some time.
Second problem is hospitals. As older ppl just take up food(dont see any benefit) I end up in some limbo where population grows, hospitals start producing, population ages, food shortage, population drops, hospitals stop producing, ppl no longer grow old, food exess, population grows.
That is how this game works - there really is no equilibrium. :)
(If you play really smart and balance a lot, you can get to "almost balanced")
It is almost always better to use worker distribution control, especially when doing wars. This gives faster results.
(Current very high limit is around 100Billion people, then tools/cars/med get hard to produce, but this is solved using genetics which increases max population even further. (a lot)).

oy, oy.... what's with the super nerf to the attack power and the enemy regen for so much troops? one or the other would have been enough, with both i can't advance in game (especially since genetics required thousands and with the food/pop drop i can't make thousands)

I don't get how I can have 74 tool makers and still have -230 tool production. I don't understand how the demands work. This needs to be explained more.

Currently on year 16000 and felt that I should comment that this is a great game, man. I am not currently brimming with good suggestions but if I think of any I will let you know! Cheers.

hitting some severe bottlenecks now, especially in tool production... but really, my population is gigantic and i can't control it at all lol. run out of gold and/or wood to upgrade anything, anything that needs tools is.... well, screwed (be nice if we could turn on and off public consumption of tools n stuff). If at all possible, a population limit would be highly appreciated-and so would an extension of the tool achievement lines or a reduction in building costs :P

It says you can change worker distribution with + and - buttons. Where are these buttons? (The ones one my KB do not seem to accomplish the stated effect.)

Thanks for the reply, Baldurans. Can't wait for genetics! As far as updates to war, I was thinking maybe adding north and south with different kinds of resources might be neat, as well as being able to have more than one army (looks like you already have that planned). Being able to allocate a certain number of population for soldiers might be nice (something like auto-hold after losing a certain amount).
Good ideas and something like this is planned too. For "auto-hold" you can soon set resting time. This way more population will gather until the attack is made. Adjusting it will allow big armies to gather automatically.

Noticed a strange bug, it seems that even though my food has a profit, it still continues to decline. Unless I buy additional farms, my food total will continue to go down at a designated pace while I have a profit. But when my profit turns negative, the pace suddenly increases as it should, and in increments equal to the negative.

okay, the men entirely died out after sitting at 99 for a long time.... took a while, pop seems to be rising up above 1k now (had a few minutes where i was getting flat 1k pop spawns)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
......i have this feeling that this is related to your 1000 person bug... i just cleared east 54, all my women died, 1k men are slowly aging to.... infinity? everyone else is also dead.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The army should have some learning curve where the weapons gets better, i was at 30000+ years of continuous war(then the 1000 pop bug hit me) yet my people learned nothing about war in all that time;)

I can spend it on research but I make 200* the amount of cash as I do research so the only ratio where I earn enough research to spend it is on the ones that give more cash...but that only makes my surplus worse. I think the problem comes from the fact that research generation is horrible except the amount you gain from wars...but even that wont keep up with income generated from the food(more pop means more medicine) and money you gain from those same wars
