When I loaded this page I was thinking "What the hell is HELL Tetris?" Then I started a game and saw the shape of the screen and laughed my arse off. Excellent concept.

Since I've held the record for long enough now, I can give you lot some clues:
1. You need a flat surface less than 9 blocks wide that will NEVER BREAK. This is the most difficult part.
2. Never put the S, Z, L or J pieces sideways, unless you really have to. the other part shifts when the other part is destroyed.
3. You can push the J L and I blocks against the wall and get some time to think.
4. Like in poker, you have to fold and quit most of your games. You'll know when things go wrong. But if you've got a lot of points, try to make a new flat surface and salvage what you've got!
5. While it's possible to get 4 lines at a time, you should only try 1 or max 2 lines at once. Otherwise the neat order you've been building will most certainly get destroyed.
I haven't played this in a while but I'd love a challenger to the 66 lines ;)

@Selva, what do you mean no challenge, not funny, not fun?
The point of Hell is to be difficult, the joke is that you still need to make perfectly straight and aligned rows of blocks, and clearly you haven't experienced the exileration of triumph as you overcome the difficulties persented here and _triumph over adversity_. Esp since your nick doesn't appear in the highscore list w/ 1 point.

I clicked this and then the thought occurred to me that it could be a screamer game. I kinda wish it was... It would be less painful...

This is absolutely beautiful. Just the idea of taking an XKCD joke about Tetris and making it into an ACTUAL GAME gets it 5 stars from me.

I somehow managed to get a single point, now I can finally quit knowing that it can be done. Though how anyone got 84 points is beyond me.

I know why this is called Hell Tetris. After playing it, everyone goes to hell for all of the obscene things they screamed about minorities.

For the longest time I thought the game was broken and you couldn't get points. I kept getting 9 in a row. Then I realized the nine had to be touching horizontally with no gaps between them. One block being at an angle and causing a gap prevents the row. I got 1 =D Going to try for 3 before I got to bed

I got a line around my 50th try, and then I was going to die so I just help down and ended up getting another line half a second before I lost 0_o :3
