how i made the hard badge: took all upgrades, and the weakest hull.
then its basicly just the first 30 sec, til u can see more of the screen.
dont use the speed boosters, but instead look for the fuel tanks that u can safely grab.
with a bit of luck, concentration u will have the badge :)

.. If possible, could you add a list of achievements? It would be really useful to be able to set goals on that too. (Well i mean, knowing what you're aiming for)

3 things that really really really annoy me, The amount of fuel in the cans is way to low, they don't really do anything, when you get into outspace the bigs cans are so few as to be useless. The boosters are too close together so if your not perfectly lined up you will hit them everytime and take damage. 3/5

So this is how NASA works. And by NASA, I mean Nice and Safe Attitude, which I'm assuming is a misspelling of "altitude."

Interesting. Tiny flight boosters with limitless fuel that you must avoid running into (as opposed to.. simply uprising air?). Lightning not only short circuits a rocket but also stops momentum, is free standing, and always strikes in the same place. Did you crash ANOTHER rocket? Oh no! Ah, but you reached another 2k feet, OH YEAH!

Some ideas that could improve this one: radar. This thing is like an obstacle course, and visibility is laughable, 9 times out of 10 I hit something I didn't even see coming, knowing when a detour could result in plenty of fuel would be nice too. Info about wind should be higher, I'm trying to watch out for stuff in front you know. The way the game reacts to the slight lag spikes caused by chat is another story... had a few sessions when it felt like I only got control over the rocket once every five seconds.

Boo I just finished the game...again...
Using the smallest hull is really good idea. But trust me, there is no need to use thrust, I reached 250k feet without even touching it.

Was almost upset. My DSL dropped when I finally got the hard achievement so it didn't report. Luckily it showed up after a few minutes.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
why does the wind get stronger when i get into space? i get out of the atmosphere and all the sudden i cannot control my ship without aiming into the wind and boosting non-stop.

In start, get the engine and fuel to lvl 3. Then upgrade reduce fuel consumption a lot because you need more fuel to reach checkpoints. Then upgrade money to all your money in like 3 days. Then buy lvl 2 booster. Then good luck ^_^ ( Tip: If you want to get the hard badge, I suggest using the esc button. This will pause EVERYTHING that you see. then hovering your mouse at a safest point or turning your engine. I used this trick when trying to get the hard badge)

For going to the hard badge, equip the smallest hull (500) and a medium engine (14-15). Save your thrust until you reach the 50k, then use it with caution when the screen is clear. Go for the gas bonus, not for the speed booster. Then slalom you way up to the moon (i reached space without any damage with this strategy). Rate + if it helps ;^)

Good game. I think its very well belanced- not too hard and not too easy. What about a restart shortkey 'r'. For the hard badge / the ingame Ace III it would be great to restart at once after you have hit something. + if you agree

People who are complaining about this game being too hard are either children, have no patience, or are just plain rubbish at games with no hand-eye coordination whatsoever.

To get the Hard badge: equip your smallest hull, max out main engine, tanks and fins. In flight, do NOT use the onboard boosters at all! Also actively avoid the accelerators. CUT YOUR THRUST (with Down arrow) often to reduce your speed (you still need the biggest engine for fuel efficiency), especially in the low altitudes before the view zooms out. Collect extra fuel cans on the way but nothing else. When a cluster of obstacles appears right ahead, cut thrust and drift away to the side instead of trying to navigate through the middle.
Your main fuel should be good for about 270K ft if you pick up just a few cans, so don't worry about your boosters.

If you are having trouble with the hard badge try putting on worse equipment. If you find you are going to fast and crashing into stuff, put on a worse engine so that way you won't be going so fast.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
What does this: "- the game is now start zooming at the lesser altitude" mean? Seriously, you need to learn some grammar
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
WTH? Now I need to finish this game all over again because now you added badges? Wait cant I just do one flight and earn the badges I deserved? Like the easy and medium badges. Hard is near impossible so I didnt bother to get Ace III w/o badge for that...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The view in the beginning is ridiculously small for the speed you are going at when fully upgraded. The first 30 seconds is all luck when going for the Hard badge, and even after that there is WAY too many accelerators, they dont help either, they are bulky and way too easy to hit. Im not complaining, just suggesting a bigger viewing range at the start and accelerators made smaller and easier to avoid.

k i give up...havent been able to get to 150k without getting hurt...most of the time i get hurt after i take off lol
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
....u should really put less junk in the beginning so we can actually make it to the middle without being hurt for the badge...i cant even get halfway because i cant see the planes and stuff that suddenly pop out of nowhere
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
why is fuel usage the exact same over the different hulls? the larger one would clearly need more than the smaller ones but they don't.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
To get the hard badge, use the smallest rocket and travel diagonolly. That way you can dodge objects a hell of a lot easier.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Yeah, it's impossible to win unless you have a little strategy ShadowmancerLord... That's a good thing. Most in this genre you can win without even trying if you're fully upgraded, here you at least have to put a little thought into it. What's the point otherwise?
Also, I found the hard badge easiest with the least durable hull as it's the smallest (and if you get damaged you've lost anyway so what's the point of durability?), avoiding almost all boosters unless I'm ABSOLUTELY stable in the middle, and collecting safe fuel, though I still made it with a bit of fuel to spare. The beginning is the hardest, you can often fail from sheer luck because of the low viewing range.

@ShadowmancerLord: I got the hard badge with a maxed out ship and not flying through booster getting minimal gas-cans... It's not that hard so stop ranting...

5/5 game had fun trying to get 250,000 feet without hitting nothing but it was done. Do think that in space there would be little to no wind but whatever still fun
3,720 to 1 Badge (hard - 30 points)
You acquired this badge on Nov. 09, 2010.

and worst of all, BOOSTERS SHOULD NOT BOOST INTO OBSTACLES. It's absolutely terrible and could be easily avoidable with a few more "If;then" lines of coding.
On top of that is the fact that it is literally impossible to win unless you collect quite a few gas cans and go through boosters; that's absolute rubbish. What the hell is the point of even having a rocket if it can't make it to the moon on its own?
Overall, this game has left a bad taste in my mouth, and although I managed to force myself to upgrade all the way I can't even be arsed to get the Medium badge. 2/5, and that's probably more than this game deserves.
