Nevermind, the game "My Colony" sucks anyways, as do several other options in this menu. Guys, don't bother with this, it just links to another site, and doesn't have any good games anyways.

to morodin : yes the waterbot caan only gather from fresh water sources , to make fresh water i recomend using wood to ceate wells but because you already got everithing get a destilation faciliti

How do I make fresh water? I am on a water planet and have set up salt water pumps and tanks as well as a fresh water tank. The problem is that I have no way to make my gathered salt water into fresh water. There are no buildings in my menu that desalinate water. And I built a waterbot, but it will not gather anything. (I'm guessing it can only gather from fresh water and ice?)

I've retried from scratch 3 times (on my 4th) with League of Interdependent States. Every time I reach around 100+K population they will suddenly die off. No reason found - govt 90+ to 100%, food and water ok. Trash and atmosphere ok. Travel distance ok. They just drop to health 0 and keep dying. Tried alot of things to no avail. I am now with something like 50 stargates to bring in population, shut down everything except basic necessities and some things for entertainment and education + hospital (they are patients and medics [I made the medics the highest paying job] ) but everytime it goes up to 1000+ they will die off to 100+.

@Machee that is good to hear :) I was not that patient, as I came across more problems too.
The aluminum ended at some point and I was far away from getting the alien technology to start producing it.
I never got ANY tourists in the whole game and there was no way to buy aluminium through trade at all.
So, I deleted it and i played some smaller maps. In the future I might start a bigger map again, when I have time and much coffee

I'm evil I make them pay taxes every time I see one on the highway cause its "dangerous" and its the only road in and out of town

@Aurense I finally recovering from the sudden all colonist on "off duty" after many hours of play. All my tourists died and the colonist died off about a quarter. I had to cover every single available space with wells and solar panels both which did not need workers and cut off all non-essential buildings. I let their health rebuild from the sudden colony wide shut down for a bit, then set work load to light and also did several stimulus. Now on road to recovery but still quite a whilst to go. However, still do not know why all my colonist when to "off duty". There was no prior warning. All my happiness, health were close to max, essential resources stock piles of food, water etc was very high for my population too. Then the sudden avalanche. All "off-duty" led to crash in water and food, led to massive health drops and tourist die offs (which also spammed messages on my game window slowing down my actions dramatically) and the colonists die off, massive unhappiness etc ...

@Machee. Had some problem with my huge colony too. Suddenly all water and food went to zero (and I had a lot) and then no workers anywhere :(

suddenly all colonists stop working (when my happiness 90+%) - all on "off duty". Tried switching to light work, firerill and stimulus but they still don't go back to work.

@nosajimiki could you please tell me where I buy aluminium. I have a ton of money, and built almost everything but cannot buy resources. Does it have to do with that i skipped some payments to earth and there is no trade or smth? I have the Galactic Stock Exchange too :/

@Aurense There is a later tech that allows it: Ancient alien language. Until you get there, it seems best to just buy it using revenue from Galactic Stock Exchange.

tourists appear if buildings have openings for them. and they tend to arrive in bursts than steady stream. there's different ways different races get resources, sometimes trading/market is only way still... hell reptiles struggle on crystal if they can't get clay production asap and only two buildings give it... one costs crystal over time :D

Most laggy city builder I know after 5h of play(reloading makes it worse). 118 colonists. I barely got 2 tech and 0.1% of the map with buildings!!!

Your colony is permanently and irrevocably lost if you grow too big; even on a local PC, it can't handle the file size. This is NOT limited to picking the largest map size. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. Also: bad game overall, will surely inspire someone to do far better.

Is there any way to re-enable tutorials?
When I start it says to get 5 ore and build a second rover, but I start with 7500 ore so I can't get any more. I somehow managed to get the tutorial to go on anyway, but refreshed soon after and now I can't get it to show again!
Before refreshing, I randomly built a potato patch and a second tutorial thread started. On another, new city try, I built a forest rover, and then it told me to build a potato patch, but when I did nothing happened.
I have no knowledge beyond the very basics of clicking and tutorials are gone!

I get into the game, after selecting options I have no idea the consequence of, and have no idea what to do. I'm frankly not looking to start reading all that it is looking like I'll need to because nothing impressed me of what I saw. I do disagree with comparing this to the Civilization games; it looks way more like Dwarf Fortress, and that's part of why I'm jumping off the learning curve at the very start.

I currently have all rover types and still cant build anything to generate power other than small solar panels and trash burners. Cant even seem to build anything to store oil despite having an oil rover.

sure does take reptiles a healthy amount of time to start up. can't get enough orebugs to build consistently. additionally i see a better house, directly says higher population except its locked behind prem. thought prem was explained to be cosmetic and easier hosting/multiplayer/customizations not fully gated content as hinted at in-game.

I didn't delve far enough in to tell it's true character, but it seemed kind of dull. Almost like a Civ 5/6 knock off. Not terrible, just bland.

I researched the power project but it doesn't do anything other than add the useless solar road. Seems like there is only the small solar panels and the trash burner to generate power, which means that with buildings taking 30 power each you'll need to cover most of the map with solar panels to generate enough.
