I was playing the second level and went to go across the bridge to the final and got stuck. My character sounded like it was constantly firing but couldn't see it. The enemy constantly fired at me but couldn't hit me. Nothing worked so had to refresh the screen just to get it unstuck. On to next game.

Flame thrower is the most damaging weapon in the game, but you take damage from bullets far more often with it. Use it for speed runs. Rockets are more damaging than homing rockets and won't attack the wrong enemy, use them for everything you can. This game WILL punish you if you accidentally run into the wrong powerup, so be careful.

The weapons are simply out of whack. The rocket launcher is the first unlocked weapon, and is WAY better than anything else even if it is a little slower than the others; having massive area effect damage, infinite range and ammo. The least you could do to balance the game would be limit the number of shots with it. Once a weapon is acquired, you should be able to select the one you want to use. I often don't even notice the NPC has spoken until it's about to flash off the screen. And, as many people have already said: A map would be helpful, the soldiers shouldn't do as much damage as the mecha.

I'd like to be able to kill the last enemys in the "boss arena" after killing the level boss to get my gold star.
Good game apart from that.

1 star for being forced to completely replay the 5-10 minute level after you get to the boss. Game really needs to have a quick save so that you can just replay the boss if needed. Level 3 is brutal.

I can't believe the drops disappear so fast! I like to take my time killing things... I wish they didn't disappear on me! I mean I lose more health in "trying" to get the stupid medic kit in panic before they disappear!

WTF, I go ALL THE way to the boss, destroy it and then have to go ALL THE WAY BACK in under 2 minutes. That is some lame a$$ BS.

These games need to stop queuing actions. The slightest lag can cause my character to go careening off. Forcing me to stop doing anything until he catches up.

I came up with this idea of standing on top of the tank boss so that it couldn't shoot me, but it started shooting backwards, what's the point in rotating or even having the turret if it can shoot at all angles?

"You'd better search for a health pack". Yeah, sure. As if you could find one without killing enemies. Which is kind of hard to do if the next thing is a miniboss and you're at 15. Plus no intermediate saves on a mission - get killed and you just wasted 10 mins. 1/5

I gotta tell you - this takes me back to the glory days of video games. Speaking that Ikaruga is one of my favorite games of all times, job well done.
