The infantry and the the flak cannons all use the same ammo... Hmmm... Request change? It's not BAD per se, just slightly bothersome.

@hae ri
You can auto-fire by holding the mouse button to shoot, then bringing it out of the screen, then you just let go off the mouse.
There's your auto-fire ;)

@angryyoungpoor I actually used my footprints to go back to the air ship, I was amazed they're still there and didn't go away.

This game is just a laundry list of bad ideas. Weak weaponry, enemy shots having *unlimited* range, never any idea of where to go, hidden enemies everywhere, super-easy to take damage, difficult to aim since you're constantly moving and firing (Decision did this *much* better), no real use for the mortar, and, oh yeah, having to backtrack *all the way* (with no map) is no fun at all. Is this really the same group that made Frantic Frigates? What the hell happened?? 1/5

@roddny444: I spent 7 minutes and 22.38 seconds to beat the first stage on my first time through. That definitely qualifies as an easy badge.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
it took me 5 minutes to beat the firest level... it's not so hard to just run back to the plane, skip fighting everything and keep moving forward, shoot and chuck bombs as you go
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
omg Kongregate, why have you made me play 2 horrible games in a row T_T
The keys are NOTICEABLY sticky and I find it increasingly difficult to dodge bullets the more enemies there are on the screen, which is funny cuz that's when you need your controls to work the most. Not only do the directional keys stick but the mouse doesn't register sometimes, so you find yourself constantly moving left while shooting at nothing as 8 enemies shoot at you. Also, it'd be nice to know the difference between the power ups you get before their thrown at you but that's cuz I like to have a choice.
I'm not going to complain about the backtracking bit cuz apparently everyone has already, but my last complaint would be that when you zoom out the screen, make sure there aren't any enemies hiding behind your stat bar, because it's annoying when they get a cheap shot in when I'm trying to dodge a bullet and I think that spot is safe.

Ehh, thats a lotta work for just an easy. Maybe it shoul be harder or the like.
There's not alotta drops and they do disappear quickly as the other top comments stated.

After about a fifteen minute first level, I am given the choice to escape. Naturally, I tried to push through to the end of the base, to no avail. I then proceed to follow my tracks around every place I went, but considering I cleared the place, I quickly realized my error. So I ran to the helicopter, got there, exploded, helicopter took off, then a victory screen popped up and I got the badge. What?

Fail minus is this game's grade~ yep sorry but it just is
lacking mapping, hold space for auto mortar, upgrades to be bought with money instead of having to replay the same 10 minute level over and over to get a single gold star, and finally a NOT LAZY PILOT (lol every time I kill the boss he says that he won't stay anymore as if its just to piss me off)

Great game. Like a classic arcade style game, with power-ups instead of upgrades and big boss fights. Though took me a little while to figure out which power-up items were which. Also, I think the bosses coulda been more challenging but other than that it was lots of fun to play.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
checkpoints maybe. its twice as hard to get back to the beginning as to defeat the boss. It really sux that you have to start over if you die. The easy badge isnt easy at all. make the game again.

Meh, typed a bit then found I passed the character limit.
@Davarious: Games uploaded to Kongregate can make money for the developers both via ad sharing revenue and potential to win the monthly/weekly dev contests. Also allows dev to add game to their portfolio that could get them more lucrative job positions if they'd like.
Game gets 4 stars for being a seemingly decent game even though I don't care for the genre anymore(top down shooters, scrolling or otherwise), would take an extra half point off if I could for not being able to remap controls but not worth docking an entire star off.

Who am I working for, Who am I fighting, and which is better G or S bullets. I just like the green ones cause they look cool.

@Darvoius remember that the next time your watching sports of any form. Since your no pro athleat yourself you have no right to complain witch im sure you will anyway
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Darvious, I want to point out that just because people might not have their own Kongregate or other flash game, that doesn't mean they haven't developed one. Actionscript and Flash in general are completely terrible compared to so many other languages and tools in my opinion. I have made games, but there's a very low possibility of me ever making one for Flash.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
You people need to quit griping. It isn't an Xbox game that was developed by a huge team of programmers and that sells for $60, it's a free flash game developed by a single person. I've noticed that everyone complaining hasn't even designed a single game of their own. Would any of you spend 8 - 12+ mos. designing a game that isn't going to make you any money? No. Anyhow, Great game! 5/5

The fact you do not know how much is needed for getting a higher level star is rather bad. When I got Silver. I want to know how much is needed for Gold.

No map. Controls freeze sporadically. Can't explore and retreat in all locations. No documentation on effects of weapon types. In second mission, I get a surprise that "energy level" is a resource of some sort.
So much for the overall user experience.

A decent implementation of a genre I don't much care for. If I was rating it on whether it was a good game instead of whether I liked playing it, I'd have given it one more star than I did.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
This game is buggy beyond belief, I can't even beat the first level because whenever I try to take out turrets the game freezes...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
First level needs to be much easier so people can get acquainted to the game. There's no real point where you can get a feel for it. It just kind of dumps you into it, and it's difficult for players that aren't good at this kind of game. There should have been difficulty settings to make the game more fun for a wider base of players. It's also pretty annoying that there's no way back to the menu once you start a level. If you get lost and know you won't have enough time to escape you have to stand there waiting to die or refresh.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
this game badly needs some kind of upgrade system. Hard badge is impossible, and impossible badge is double impossible. 1.5 million plays and only 8,500 people have the hard badge...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Why the hell do games like this always drop health packages when you don't need em, but when you're in desperate need of one, non appear?
