the pay to play games are rediculous now they are slowly consuming kong... its almost like spitting in the players face... i come here for some enjoyment not to blow money

Entertaining, till one realizes the grind set before them to get past even the early matches and the first city because gear is too expensive.

Unless you're looking to make heavy use of blacksmithing, there's really nothing here that'd require you to spend real money. In fact, gold's fairly useless later on.

Stuff is too expensive...I feel "pushed out" of the game too soon without investing serious coin in it...but it's a good game (some balancing issues here and there)

I've been playing for a good three hours and I've only conquered 3 cities and can only buy rusted weapons. HOW LONG IS THIS GAME. 5/5.

Boring and repetitive. Might be fun if I paid money for items, but who knows? Not going to shell out if the free version is a dud.

Always loved BezserkStudio games , to bad this this "pay to have more" thing flu ruined most of games here on Kong....
Sadly is no different here , the game gets boring way to fast , it takes forever to get money for things , forcing the player to pay OR low rate the game and never play it again ( majority of users on Kong). I really wanted to give a solid 5/5 , but unfortunately this time BerzerkStudio gets a 3/5 from me.
Hey, yeah a lot of people seems to get frustrated on the money progression, we’ll work that out in an update, sorry !
In no way we want to make games that gets boring if you don’t pay, that’s just stupid. But a good difficulty curve is something really hard to accomplish, just check out any of our other games and you’ll see people saying “Too hard” and “Too Easy”. So it’s a never ending battle on how to tweak the difficulty.
Anyway, enough excuses, we’ll get back to work on SoC, ;) Thanks for the feedback !

Painfully grindy if you don't buy stuff with real cash... and my team-mate just attacked a dead opponent and brought them back to life, which was rather odd.

you can sell stuff. all you have to do is drag and drop the stuff from your inventory onto the area where you buy stuff when in the shop. + to keep this on top

Originally I gave 3/5 for the game because there were many issues already appointed in the top comments. I changed to 4/5 for the developers are working hard to fix them and I almost get teary-eyed when I see a game not being forgotten by it´s own creator.

possible bug, if a gladiator levels up with a +hp item, their hp won't increase until you remove it, at least that's what the inventory screen is showing.

Since it's so obviously modeled after Swords & Sandals, I can't thank you enough for keeping the entire game free-to-play. Up yours, Fizzy.com.

@ceygar: don't think thats a bug, limbs are usable until hacked off, not sure why the AI seems to be able to attack more than we can when one bodypart is at 0, maybe balance, since we're smarter.
@fredzed: idk, it's looks optional, there's no exclusive p2p content, think -> donate.
@jpileatus: you can sell extra loot to the shop, drag it onto the shop's inventory.

At first I loved it, but I'm still in the first city and already having to grind away for gold before I can outfit my team to the point that they advance one more tier. Definitely the biggest problem. It's a slow pace, gets monotonous after a while and way too grind oriented.

Yeah, found a bug. Got a spear-man here who keeps attacking me his 'disabled' limb. Shows negative health if that means anything.

Played this on Newgrounds and some other site recently. Fairly good, but gets very grindy. Also, what is it with programmers thinking shield bash is some great fighting move? If it was nearly as good as it is inevitably made out to be, wars would have been fought with nothing BUT shields. Bashing someone with a shield would do little more (and likely less, since movement is harder) than hitting someone with brass knuckles: in other words, a sword/mace/spear would beat it (as far as damage output) every time.

Really cool so far. I think the only thing I wish it had was the ability to sell back extra loot to the shop. Other than that I like it.

Its a good game, reminds me alot of Swords and Sandals, which is what I guess you were going for, but it does need alot of balencing. Costs of items need to be addjusted as some are just way too expensive for what you get... loot drops need to be upped and made appropriate to your level. I've gotten junk thats worse then my already equipped stuff or nothing more times then I can count. The skills could do with addjusting as many of them are frankly useless. Battles take too long in alot of cases with having to chip through armor or kill multiple people which make it get boring and repetative too quickly.
At the moment the games an average 3/5. Actually sit down and play it to balence the issues and make it fun to play and it'll be worth more. Even the alike swords and sandals currently has more long term play value then this right now, and thats been out for years.
And one more thing... Pay for upgrades? Pay to play flash games are auto-fail for most people.
