Blasted through it but gave up on the final boss. The controls are just too laggy and you seem to fall off an edge constantly.

What's bugging me most is that the game does not take more then 2 keys strokes in parallel. So I can't jump diagonally while shooting. Grrr.

I have come to expect quality games from Berzerk. This one has a lot of potential, even if it blatantly rips from popular sci fi. The dash controls are too touchy at times, the leveling doesn't actually change anything, and some enemies are flat out frustrating and take away from the entire experience. The graphics are superb, although a little bit of tweaking would make them even better. I'm an old school platformer fan, so the level design is an interesting challenge for me, but I would like to see the ability to aim. Weapon selection is obviously not the designer's concern, so I'd suggest that if there is only one gun, make it very entertaining to use. My last complaint is about the screen shake. While an interesting effect, I personally think it was used a little too much. 3/5

Not too bad... its a fun game and all but some of the enemies are just plain not worth fighting at all, and the damage upgrades seem to have no effect whatsoever. The bosses are unbelievably easy as well.

Great game: good graphic, good interaction, interesting concept, good leveling system, but it's really a pity that you can't shoot upward. Why not??? It would be 4.5/5 for this, but... 5.

I really liked the game. I like art, the story, etc. Yes there is a problem with the damage system but it didn't bother me at all. I mean our rate of fire and the spread shot just makes up for the damage. I after reading some of the comments, I have to say half of them aren't thinking straight. A lot of you keep saying it's a copy or not original. I don't care that the story or game play is similar to other games. It's not like the codes and the art work are the same. Next, people talk about how bad the control is. They want to aim with mouse, the movement sucks, etc. If we get to aim with our mouse, the game will get too easy for it and more people are going to complain about the difficulty of the game. So stop complaining people. It's a great game. Shut up and enjoy it or quit before you hate it.

Should be rated NC-17 for the animation during the storyline. Now, throw a decent ending on there, and we're in business!
I enjoyed this. 5/5 - Metroid with a dark and simplified feel. Very nice.

It's like dead space but i'll actually be able to sleep tonight and i won't feel like running to my mommy out of fear...

Seconding comment about damage bug; it takes 5 hits to kill a zombie with or without 20% in damage upgrades, which should be impossible.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
its a pretty good game good dialogue, reason why the problem has happened, and a level up system probably the ony problem is that some of the monsters are too hard, bosses too easy and theres only one gun.

Annoying game.
Flying enemies but you CANT aim is really bad.
In the dark so you cant see where they are is bad.
Damage upgrade but everything still taking like 5 shots is bad.
Platforming - fine but platforming with a small roof so you hit it and cant jump as far is bad
Platforming in the dark is bad
Dark where you cant help but run into zombies is bad
Making you jump down into zombies because you cant see them is bad.
2/5 from me, could of been better

The one thing I hate about this game is that if you're firing your gun then the enemy gets to close, you can't back up and fire at the same time. Other then that, great game!

This is basically just a lift of Event Horizon and Dead Space mashed together. If they actually made your character get more powerful rather than just HP and shield going up it would be a good game.

This game reminds me to much of doom, such as the first boss acts like a pain elemental and spits out lost souls.PS why is the first suit look just like master chiefs in halo?

Heh, found a bug. If you jump over and into the blue door at the start of the crew quarters level, you can run through the wall. I thought it was a secret area, but when I came out, I was invisible and unable to jump.

How are you guys see Metroid? This is obviously a ripoff of Dead Space. New ship finds crazy thing, all the crew goes crazy and mutate, then one guy on a look and see what happened mission goes in and sees all the messed up stuff, and finally that one guys goes and kills everything and escapes. No: Metroid (unless you count the whole insect thing but come on obviously more Necromorph) Yes: Dead Space

Good game, only 4/5 due to the ending, and the boss fight in general not being very epic, and way too easy. Keep it up though. I enjoyed it.

Beat it. I felt like I kept going only because I wanted to see the end. Anyways, finally got to the final boss- and heres my main complaint- the hardest part wasnt the boss itself, it was trying to stay on the platforms without double tapping (boosting uncontrolably off the platform). It felt like my armor was against me- if the boss hit you, you would be pushed back slightly, but if you tried to move close to the front edge so you wouldnt get pushed off next time you were hit, you would occasionally double tap right and boost off.

This reminds me of dead space. neither truly understand how to scare it's audience. there need to be elements of mystery, pacing, and subtlety. As it stands, this is nothing more than a sub-par action game that fails miserably at trying to be scary.(just like dead space) In addition, the A.I. and aiming are painfully bad. 0/5

Spruentgen, do you ever read the stats upgrades?!? You get 8% attack rate, then 8% damage boost...alternating each time you level up.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
the bosses are way too easy. for example i beat it in no time and the only thing i had to do was dodging the beam with jumps

I think too much time was spent on the graphics and story. More time should have been spent on the mechanics and game play, i got bored of this game VERY quickly. Disappointed too.

nice and entertaining, well graphics. a bit more conquest could be nice. also inventory screen is useless, just make a buton for automap, thats ist.
BTW: LABRAT9 you complained about needing same ammonut of hits to kill a zombie, no matter which level you got, .. uhm, do you ever read the stats upgrades when leveling up, there is nothing said about doing 8% more damage, just 8% faster attack rate.. so stil 5 hits needed.

Played three levels. It's not really BAD, but it's below average, for various reasons. First, the good parts: graphics and sound are nice, and it has a plot of sorts. The bad: I would have preferred a point-and-shoot system, although jumping all the time to kill the airborne enemies didn't bother me so much as their durability. Droppers need around 20 shots to kill, WTF! Also, as someone said already, for all the dmg upgrades, normal zombies still need 5 shots. Speaking of shots, what am I shooting them with, epicac? Because they seem to throw up before dying :D Finally, an upgrade system would have been nice, along with a currency or something.

another swing and miss for berzerk. The leveling concept seems really tagged on and pretty fruitless, the action is unrewarding and overall just not very fun. 1/5 for graphics, only redeeming feature.

This is possibly the WORST game that I have ever played. It is so horrible that I couldn't even play it through to the end, and I'm a pretty persistent player. There are so many things wrong with this game, I could go on for pretty long. First off: Horror games should NOT be confused with zombie games. Horror is scary and dramatic. Zombies are gruesome and action-packed. And the AI. Oh, the AI. I bet that I could program an AI better than this, and I don't even know how to. All they did was walk. If you came a little too close, they walk at you. Big freaking deal. They couldn't even jump! So I just have to sit on a ledge a little higher than they are, crouch down (which brings up to mind the controls, ugh), and fire away. The map is horrible. The inventory is horrible. I'm sorry about this, but if you want my true opinion, I say that you should try playing your own game to see if anything is decent before you upload it. A negative score should be invented just for this game. 0/5

its not broken. its just that when you level up, the zombies level up too. when you get 5% more dmg, they get 5% more HP. See? it not broken. it makes perfect sense.......
