I just clicked this one out of curiosity. Played it for like 2 hours, googled Darkorbit Ads pack, picked one from Germany(tele5), made an Account @bigpoint, got 2 Month VIP, Battlecruiser & 3 Drones. And i am having fun, which i did not during the first 2 hours of this game! DarkOrbit through Kong sucks to be honest - no bonus, even special offers for newbies like free booster don't work. I advise anyone playing through Kongregate to register for a new account through one of those ads. And just a tip - if you think about buying Uridium wait till happy hour (buy 1 get 2) or mega happy hour ( buy 1 get 3) which come along every couple of days. Oh before i forget, your drones are getting damaged each time you are shot, so don't forget to repair them every now & then, cause they are quite expensive if you have to replace them.

OK we ALL understand that some of you people have crappy connection!! That doesnt mean it's a BAD game, the only thing i dont like about is that you have to pay money to get good, but overall, the gameplay, graphics, events, sound, and other things, its a pretty good game.

this game is slow to start and takes alot of time to make your ship good. the steps to making your ship good without spending cash are: 1) collect as much uridium out of the bounus boxes as you can and buy sheilds lasers and engines. 2) buy the best ship you can buy with credits. 200k credits isnt hard to make if you sell your collected ore. 3.) build your skylab so it produces prometid. 4) send the prometid to your ship as often as you can. each full load should bring you about 300-600k credits. 5) save up credits to bid on all equipment you need. you can bid on stuff early in the morning to save credits. 6) join a clan that will help you bid on stuff. 7) kill stuff and bid on stuff till you have the max number of drones engines lasers etc. 8) get payback on anyone who ever killed u as a nub.

it's a good idea... but the PvP is the wrong way around... i keep getting a shed load of goliaths rolling into 2-1 and leveling the place... and it's harder on 2-2 cuz the non-EIC cap is higher... and there is less restrictions... and has anyone noticed that the only way to get some really good firepower in less than an hour is to use a credit card? cuz otherwise u're almost defenseless against preium players... which can roam all the maps regardeless of the level of power... which is normally stupidly high cuz they get something stupid like 10k uridium a day... rate up if you feel the same about this...

Actually you can play and be great without paying money. But its probably to complicated for you idiots who keep saying its impossible. Seriously all you do is upgrade the skylab, send the rocks to your ship, sell the rocks and repeat. Eventually when your skylabs upgraded enough youll be able to sell promerium which is worth 500 credits each. Then once you have millions of credits you bid on the stuff that you usually have to pay for.

I find it amazing how this game still has people playing it. Hasn't anyone realized you can't do jack shit without any money? These kinds of games are so massive, if they came in a can they'd have a wallet warning label.

Note for People on kong: If you make an account, then dont go on it for a while, you will have to go play on www.darkorbit.com to actuall play the game. It may suggest using another username, but it wont work.

I want to like this game I really do. It has so many interesting things to play with, but it's ruined by the utter and repeated frustration of not being "allowed" to do anything. And by anything I mean survive for more than 5 minutes at a stretch without being gangraped by what amounts to sanctioned griefers. You'll hear the phrase "It's a war game" an awful lot. (Emphasis on the word game, which implies fun. Which this isn't. YMMV.)
