great game play but it would be nicer if it had a little animation for like when the smelter is in use or like a a little tab so you can see what your village looks like.

Im happy that the winter mechanic makes a decrease in catnip productivity, it makes the game a little challenging on your first winter unless you are a pretty swift clicker

@Scott358: Unless you have disabled cookies for the website, it should autosave. just make sure you're logged in to your Kongregate account when you play.

Although... it's kind of weird that kittens are willing to live in space; you'd think they would want to AVOID something called a Spay Station...

@JacobM00 in Options, you can select High Precision Resource Values, which extends the values by one decimal place. It still rounds from there, so it's not entirely accurate, but it'll probably give you a better picture of what you're actually getting. Also, later in the game, there are several upgrades that reduce Hut costs significantly. Since the game's prestige system is driven by population, Huts are kind of a premium building.

@Noontide: Also, each kitten also reduces Happiness (the small orange smiley face at the top middle), which is a global production multiplier. So each kitten not only eats catnip, it slows down catnip production. Later, you can build Amphitheaters which will offset the per-kitten unhappiness penalty... once you can, building about 15-20 of them is a good idea. After that, they suffer significant diminishing returns (and, later, you'll replace them with Towers anyways)

I have 19 smelters say they make 0.01 gold a second, I have 19 but they only make 0.10. Unicorns pasture are also doing that and i feel cheated out of my resources
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Seems bugged - I buy another hut, my pop goes up to four and I don't have enough food and two kittens die. Fair enough. Then I still don't have enough food for the remaining two kittens I had more than enough for before??

@jonny0panic Iron Will takes a lot of patience. On the plus side, they also up the odds of both getting Celestial Events, and auto successes (don't need to click it). When I attempt an Iron Will run, I find it helps to let the game run while I sleep or am at work. Yeah, you can't build up some things, but there are usually enough Meteors and Celestial events to stock up on Science and Minerals.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Yeah I don't think I'm built for iron will mode. It requires a tiger-mom level of helicopter attention. If it were faster, maybe, but hours just waiting for an Observe button when you need several is the epitome of all the downsides of this game. Mind you, it's still a great game... it's just IW forces you into all the worst mechanics of it.

cuteymeow, the pastures are obtained via the 'animal breeding' tech. That means they reduce the amount of catnip required by replacing it with meat.

"Hi, my name is Theo Tails, I am a scientist kitten with scientist perk. I've been 26 years old for the last 40 years. You know, aging isn't really my thing."

The rounding of values is currently a little too misleading.
So, could you please set income to round down and expenditures to round up? It would make it easier to determine if something is affordable.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@damiennightwind - under "options" is a checkbox for "use high precision for resource values". The unicorn pastures don't actually produce 0.01 each - they produce something like 0.005/second, so 3 of them actually produces 0.015 (which is getting truncated to 0.01).

so, max wood is 4.19 million but every time i hit that threshold it resets to 2.5 million. why is this happening? niice to have beams in the millions but really.

@jonny0panic Unless this is a problem that reoccurs later in the game, getting a temple or two will give you more culture than you can get parchment for
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Culture bottleneck turning Parchments into Manuscripts breaks my heart... it'll take me days, perhaps even weeks, to get all this Parchment converted. :(
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
what did i do? bought metaphysics and spent 85 paragon. now catpower goes from 13.00 to 13.74 and resets to 13. refreshing doesnt help.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
tunk, stuff like this usually happens during a series of conversions. In this case, I hit Megaliths and went up the line of "all" links because I usually convert Blueprints, Compendiums, Manuscripts, parchments in that order... but the addition of Megaliths, the lack of line differentiation and the fact that my resources screen SCROLLS (graphical UI, please) put the 'all" for Megs where Blueprints was... so I hit all Megs, then up the line. Undo won't undo multiple steps, so bam... tons of Megs I don't need and tons of mats I needed gone.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Welp, I now have 1.3m megaliths I didn't want because there's no way to differentiate at a glance which "all" is which. Maybe put shading behind the lines... bluish for the "compendium" line (parchments through blueprints), light and med grey for megaliths and kerosene, gradient shades of grey for plates through gears ("metals"), browns for wood, beams and scaffolds. Note that the same shades can be used for objects on different parts of the list... they're not next to each other, so there's less confusion. But this WOULD be a simple way to make at-a-glance upgrading easier. I have enough trouble keeping plates in stock as it is.

Web Worker only works if you refresh it after every game (for importers of file, but I'm not sure of the savers). Should have known this earlier. :)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The Kitty Compendium game! The endgame goal is producing Compendiums for one reason or another, because the kittens can go to other planets and crack them open for fuel, but they can't learn to internet to store and share information. Indeed, even kittens on other planets are still making paper out of animal furs to share their information!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
somehow the game doesn't load (other games her will load, so I think, it's about this game only, because another link of this game won't work either) I never played this game before, so it's not about a saved file can't be loaded... please help me, if you got any ideas how to solve this problem :-)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I am careful. However, the game has too much white space; most such games, I can tile two windows vertically (one game, one project) and have the entire game fit on the screen. With this game, I have to scroll left, right, up, down, I make the left frame text smaller so it fits without scrolling but then the left frame doesn't scroll but the right one does, which means I'll go to scroll a frame and scroll the browser instead... he could really clean this up and trim it down if he used a nice graphical UI instead of frames like it's the 1990s.

Ah the joy that comes for accidentally hitting Ships All when you intended to hit Parchment All. Especially when you needed the Starcharts for the obscenely-priced Geodesy.

What the royal funk? I just lost a weeks progress. I had 110 kittens, space program etc - now I'm back to 50 kittens and pre-geology. Funny thing is, years played has NOT reverted, nor the Paragon points aquired from every 1000 years.
