I know why the guy's name is bloodyhorse. More often than not, I moved a queen onto a square only to realise that there was a horse guarding that square. The first thing that came to my mind was "bloodyhorse".

This is the best chess game on kongregate. Unfortunately it's so underrated, ironically. Prior to this I thought chess was for nerds, then I entered a few games and got thrashed. Now I realise chess is an art and I'm all the more determined to master it.

I love this game. Whenever you find a Chess game online it is either really bad or overly good. This one is perfect :D It has a nice, smooth interface!
But a Vs. Computer mode would be nice!

Hey Fun377, you might not be able to move because your king is in check. You cannot leave your king in check after you move. Also, the king is never actually taken in chess. Checkmate is when your king is in check and there's no way to get it out of check.

...I couldn't move a lot in the actual gameplay; and sometimes the game called a checkmate torwards me while i could still see my king! Is this because of my lack of knowledge in chess or is it something else?

maybe you can add a notification if the opponent declines the invitation and the possibility to create a game open to anyone instead of challenging someone

Basic chess well done, just have to love it. The addition of a developer who actualy responds to people's comments and tries to make their game better through them means a definate 5/5.

Yeah that's what i was thinking of... like an ignore or mute, not a chat filter. I may have used the wrong word there, or at least i could have been clearer.

Collusion - i was wondering about aadding a chat filters - I can also give people moderating abilities for silencing and 'ban from chat'. I also should add an 'ignore' feature for everyone to use as needed.

infinitymaster - if you log into mychess.com, you can add/read comments of games and sometimes see comuter analysis of them.

I appreciate this. The only thing I'd add is a way of easily copying down the log, that way I can analyze my games more. Other than that, 5/5 man, great game.

There have been some desync issues lately. One player moves, the other doesn't see it, you have to reload to sync up again and by that time you've lost a couple minutes on the clock. It it would ping every 15 seconds to see if the peers were in sync that would probably fix it.

Options should include a limit per movement. If an opponent gets pissed at you, stays in the window, and lets the timer go to 0 from, say, 15 minutes, it's obnoxious. The "option" prevents abuse of this function, since both players agree.

BUG REPORT:my last game crashed! crached just after trying to promote 3rd pawn to queen. i couldnt move, but my clock still ran, and if I clicked offer draw it sayed it wasnt my turn! that seems a bit buggy to me, also i could still talk to my opp so I was still on the server...

An easy way to show how much material each player has would be nice. For example, if you've exchanged knights and someone is also up a pawn and a rook, it would show a pawn and a rook (if you also show everything that was exchanged, it tends to clutter things up). It helps in evaluating if you want to push things toward the endgame or not.

the other player resigned while I was holding a piece and the app flipped out and threw my piece to a odd location. but nice chess app

Ange, you can figure a couple of seconds difference between your clock and your oppenent's clock for lag. That's not uncommon on any chess server and would account for that situation.
