I beat all forty levels and got the ending screen, but haven't gotten the achievement, "best so far: 39". am i missing something...?

Shameful to admit I needed help from a walkthrough on certain level which just didn't make any sense to me. Fun and intelligent game, 4/5 from me :)

Really enjoying this, apart from the fact i'm stupid and don't understand any other language than English. ( I am guessing that level 25 has 3 numbers in word from in a different language. )

Neat game, everything made sense except lvl 35 and lvl 36. Level 35 should either open on nine or have an additional hint like "1-2-10" or something like that. I mean, if 10, why not 11, 12 etc? Level 36 made no sense at all.

Level 35 screwed with me. I basically had it down, but the thing is that the entire way along when dealing with numbers, usually when we were using single digit numbers we stuck to single digit numbers. Therefore, when I tried the code I neglected the ten, assuming we were only going up to nine since we were in the single digits. When I failed I just assumed "Ok, clearly that's not it..." and thus ended up being stuck there forever and having to use a walkthrough for it. The problem is that there's no indication that you're even on the right track to start with, so thinking "Oh, I must put ten on the end!" isn't a natural thought. Otherwise I enjoyed it. I still never actually figured out what the heck we were actually supposed to be doing for the "new news" level. I just kinda guessed...

I have to agree, the ramping in this game seems off. You go through five levels then get stumped, then go through 10 more easy puzzles. The repetition is kind of a weak design element here as well. Level 38, for example, makes you think a little bit, but 39 and 40 are basically "gimmies" if you paid even a little attention to previous stages.

I'm glad I played this before I did the PSAT. It made me realize that I severely over think easy/straight-forward problems because they just seem *too* easy...

Decent variety, but might have been better served by 20 puzzles and fewer self-referencing "what level are you on?" puzzles.

This was very disappointing. Far far too easy, and 40xESCAPE is a huge misnomer as there are in reality only about 5 different kinds of puzzles. There is also no difficulty curve of any kind. The only reason people are getting stuck by moderately confusing levels is because only about 2 levels require any lateral thinking so you are brain-dead when you reach a level which requires such mighty thought processes as clicking on the letter signifying the initial of a number.
Lvl 29 should have the answer 435. This would make much more sense and was be less infantile.

Nice game - quite easy though, my daughters think it's tricky :-) And I think I know that "door open" sound from "Insaniquarium"^^

Other than a small error in level 32 ("tow" should be two, I think) This game was great. An escape game that manages to challenge me but not cause me frustration gets a big thumbs up. 5/5
