I tried again, waited a while after choosing "English" and again loading never appeared to even start. I even tried a second time but with "Quality: low" and still same results.

It might be something on my computer but the game just won't load once I choose a language (and I tried each of the 3 choices eventhough I only know English)!

Awesome game, full of witty dialog and interesting debates. I remember when I played this during its release, my kid brain struggled a lot during the Kant part, and I had to look up a guide. Overall a joy to play, and looking forward to the sequel all these years later :)

One more update comment: a sequel is finally happening! I know, it’s been way too long, but hey, better late than never:

The Steam version comes out next week! It’s got a few new things and is generally more polished across the board. Thank you to everyone, and to Kongregate, for supporting this game throughout the years!

I first played this game in 2015 and left a slightly cringy comment about my affection for it. Now, while working on a philosophy course that covers the characters we meet on this journey, I was reminded of this game and let me say, I would still make sweet love to it. It is funny and engaging. Replaying this game feels like visiting old friends and, at the risk of sounding melodramatic I'd like to say that this game holds a place of nostalgia and love in my heart that I find difficult to express. Replaying this was magical and my only regret is that it goes so much faster with a 7 year older brain and a hazy recollection of how these debates go.

I got the msg you were making a remake, I'm a big fan (and dabble in philosophy) I'd love to be involved in the new design (some dialogues in the existing game arent air tight) or testing

So the Kongregate / browser Supernova doesn't work for me. However, I was able to run this by using Supernova as software on their official site. If this one doesn't work, try the Newgrounds link.

I volunteer myself to translate the remake to Brazilian Portuguese for free. Please message me with your contact info if your team is interested.

Hey, you guys should know that this is my favorite game on Kongregate (probably my favorite flash game of all time), and I was stoked to see that you're remaking it! I'll try to get in touch with you some other way, but seriously thanks for the game and for remastering it! It's awesome you're doing this.

This is one of the games that I will miss... There will be a point in the future where I will think about this game, go to look it up, want to play it, but at that point, it won't be an option... Today is the last day the game is avalible, and I have tried to beat this game several times over the years, and today was the first time I was able to beat it... I will play at least one more time today, but I will absolutey miss this game.. It is a fun way to learn about some the greastest thinkers in philosophy, and it really makes you think about your morals and where you values lie... I am happy I got to beat it, I am just sad it was today.

Then there will be no thing as moral cause if no one sees and you wont be sued, if you can get away with it, stealing is always positive benefit. So what makes stealing bad? Moral and conscience. If there is no god and there cant be commands of gods and there cant be justice because then there cant be a measure to justice without gods commands. So problem is what religion has a god that is only one and gives commands that dont contradict with other commandments. My answer is Islam. Problem is people talk about islamic rules(Allah's commands) without knowing what they are actually talking about. Bigger problem is other people accept this ignorant or manipulative peoples words without self questioning the topic.

NONSENSE! Euthyphro discussion has logic errors. Question 1) is good is good because it is an command(decree, order) from god 2) is good is good because god only orders good. Answer: If moral comes from THE god, single, one(1) god (so there cant be contradictions between other orders of other gods) then meaning under the good term is filled with these orders. So good is good because god ordered it. So good is good because gods orders define what is good, all an order is always good, because good is defined by these orders. theres no contradiction. If there is no religion, there wont be a god and therefore there will be no good and evil. It is related to freewill. If you are not going to be responsible of what you have chosen by your free will then there will be no good and evil selection. There wont be any good or evil to select. You would be choosing the most effective, efficent and pleasurible thing, so positive interest.

This is a great crash course and I recommend it as a reference material and activity for lectures concerning the topics discussed. I also love the music <3

I mean, I debated a Deer repellant salesman, for an hour, told him his product is useless (even though his grandmother worked so hard on it bottle), and then I die by a deer.

If you think about it his daughter is awful. First she stated that he should listen every guy who bothers him with nonsense, than stopped him from buying something which would save his life.

The finishing blow to Kant isn't even a real counter to his argument. Of course one must consider consequences in the course of *intending* to do good! Intentionalism simply means that if things don't turn out as you expect, the important thing is what you thought you were accomplishing, not what actually happened.

Response to adarsops:
We actually proved it, the proof was just a bit earlier.
The proof was that since no human is perfect, it would be impossible for a human to find a perfect answer.
The arbiter just decided to throw a strawman argument afterwards.

!!! Warning !!! Spoilers !!!
- But wait, Socrates Jones, all did is show that IF the question about the origin of morality has no answer, then it's not so bad. You never actually proved that it INDEED has no answer. You just showed that four first suggestions for an answer were incomplete.
So, maybe your escape from Otherworld was a little bit too early?..

Its so interesting how this being a video game effects how this information is digested. Through the medium of games there is an emphasis on what we as the players decide to do making the question of morality that much more tangible and that relevance makes it so much more graspable.
There were a few times were I was frustrated by the choice limitations. Like when Kant mentioned the positive imperatives I tried to counter with the lying one trying to see what he would say if in order to accomplish the positive I had to do the negative and vise versa. Similarly I tried to do the same thing with the arbiter. I wanted to say "if we work together (hobbes) we can still move forward, morality is not a destination but a direction" I also wanted to say to Euthephro "what method do the gods use? We sure could employ the same method in their absence" I also wanted to say to Mill "Then the most moral thing we can do is place everyone's brains in dopamine vats" and a few other things too..

@Raraw12 that's something I've noticed with this, and the Ace Attorney games. I remember blazing through every case in the first Ace Attorney as a kid, but I came back to it, and have to use a guide to get past a lot of them.

Thanks to this game, I was able to compete in the Ethics Bowl at my university, without actually taking an Ethics class. The professor in charge was satisfied that I knew enough already, and the tools the game gives you are a great outline for making real arguments about morality. Honestly? This is one of the greatest games I've ever played, it has seriously changed my life ever since.

It'd feel a bit less condescending if Protagoras didn't read from his paper after I started calling him out. It feels like he anticipated my argument and even scripted the whole anticipated exchange.
