Oh wow, I got lucky early on on deity. I received the nutmeg bonus in the forest 3 times early on, had no ice age, met several friendly nomads, and had less barbarians than expected. Finished with 5 starts on turn 85.

There's too much luck involved. On some games I encounter two friendly nomads early game, which is an easy setup for a win. Other games have multiple ice ages instead. It would be nice if the luck balanced itself out.

Foe people struggling with the deity mode: it is possible, I just beat it on deity on turn 86. The trick is the following. First, scrap religion completely, it's a waste of research points and workers. Food and population growth is your first priority : use gathering in the first age, hunting in the second, and either hunting or fishing (if you can afford it, it's better) in the third. Production is your second priority as soon as you have high pop growth. Don't get the strength techs, you can't afford them and you can do without. And most important advice : keep threat level at 15-30% all the time ; sure it's high but you need all the pop growth you can get. And you can weasel out of most invasions :)

So, bug, population still goes up even though I'm at the cap. 1.4k cap and I get 150 ish a turn but it's still going up I have 1140 in my settlement and upwards of 1000 out getting resources.

On the mouse-over screen for the food etc, the numbers don't change until next turn if I change the workers (but the number next to the icons changes). Also, it seems I can have less food produced than consumed (eg. I have 10 growth and 14 produced) and still the population is increasing. Or is there a hidden food reserve I don't see?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Seriously, there is a big bug in the game. Your population on the field continues to grow once you hit your population limit. The total population count at the top left of the screen is inaccurate.

When my development is postponed by the ice age, it is postponed for the all other tribes as well. So, it doesn't do any harm really. Or at least, shouldn't.

It's really annoying the "+" and "-" buttons don't always give +1 or -1. Moreover, that seems random : one turn, "-" means "-1", the next turn, that means "-9", the following turn, that means "-11"... have you ever heard from this word : "gameplay" ?

Finally I have won in Deity at Turn 98. Focused on food then production, had Ice Age at around turn 70-80. I'll be sure to get Bronze Age later.

Really enjoyed it and was actually going to buy the Bronze Age edition but guess what, another one of those games only on Iphone! Devs, when are you going to learn a lot more gamers are out there on Android devices 'cause its easier to root and programme on them to 'super power' you media experience as a user!

I found a rare bug:When you finish on Deity before turn 80 you have infinite population.Like this:My limit is 2.3 K and i have 4.3K.No cheats or somethin'
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
thats nice game but really too short make part 2 or upgrade this somehow btw make chances to attack lower when you have many troops like me i had about 500 troops and still get 2% thats a bit nonsense

Fun game, I beat it on turn 88 on chieftain (only 3 stars though). I found that using absolutely no culture generating buildings and rushing construction on the +production buildings was the best way to win the game. For tech I started with use of fire and kept getting population upgrades every time they were available first.
I found it funny on my 3rd play through, I instantly died to a tribe with 0% threat and first turn of the game.

What this game desperately needs is a button or shift-click to add/reduce population by tens. Aside from that, I think it is very well done.
The click and hold function isn't a substitute. Add by tens. Look into it, please.

Needs the Culture Points ---> Research Points fixing. I have 5,000 people and over 100,000 Culture Points but they're only made into Research Points every 5 turns or so.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It shouldn't require more culture for research points after you do a cultural exchange. It makes culture growth entirely pointless, and you end up just waiting for nomads to happen by so you can get research points. This is just for sandbox mode though. Great game

Think I've done as well as I can. 10,086 points, deity level, finished on turn 89. @NanakoM, it's a shout-out to the Civilization series, where the only thing you start out with is a palace. More than that, you can think of it as representative of success - your civ is dominating so much that you have the LUXURY of building a nice place for the leader.

Neat game in the spirit of old 'Hamurabi'. Maybe could use some balance changes, as so much is dependent on luck: I didn't get the early Ice Age this time, plenty of nomads had joined me and that's how I was able to beat it on 'chieftain' level - while previously I was plagued by bad luck and ended only half-way to erecting the palace.
It's amusing how it uses the word 'barbarians' for enemies in the age where even your people are a bunch of primitives :)
We could use more decision-oriented games like this (think 'King of Dragon Pass'), Flash games don't have to be always about action.

building a palace seems like a pretty arbitrary and stupid victory condition. How am i somehow swept away by more successful neighbors when i have thousands of citizens and have easily resisted every single attack >: |

The game isnt really to my taste, just a bunch of numbers really. Nothing visually exciting. Brings about the same joy as punching 5318008 into a calculator and turning it upside down... It gets boring really fast

I beat easy, and keep coming back for the medium difficulty. I've come close a few times, but I can't imagine ever beating the hardest level! I love this game!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Yes, it's beatable on deity. Not even that hard, just have to get a little lucky. If your first two random events (turn 6 and 13 or so) are bad, you're going to have a lot of trouble winning.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Has anyone actually beaten this thing on Deity? I appreciate the challenge but I'm starting to think it's literally impossible given the game parameters.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Hey,can you combine the Bronze Age with the Iron Age and the rest Ages within 9000-1000 B.C? It would be great to know what did they.

Afterwards it gets lame on how long it takes to get 1 tech point...... Your pop grows too fast for the Economy Tech.... than randomly you gotta add up some of the other food techs as well.... Anyways this is how its so far:http://imgur.com/fLUXlvC

If you keep playing, you should get more tech points. I currently have 6.8K people (3812BC) but it is difficult to get more.
