Selling tax blows. Especially on Gems. Gems are a premium currency, dont tax them in trade. Yes, "you can get some for free", keyword being "some": The amount you can earn in-game is extremly limited.
Way too many Gem Paywalls on things. I also severely dislike the fluctuation of the premium gem "value" in game (ie: 1 gem can be used in place of nearly 0 gold or well over 100k gold, depending on what it is your buying).
Lastly: Storage bins. These need to be upgraded, badly. Give them at least 2 if not 3x the size. As is, you essentially force the "sell all" play style. Im a hoarder and I seek efficiencies. I dont want to feel forced to sell my items that I know are pre-crafts for future items. But as is, I have to.
All in all, a fun game that I view as still being in the "raw" stages (not as friendly of a gaming experience as it should be). With some changes though, Im sure this game will be a 5/5 in my book.
Thanks for your feedback. On the note of the item storage, early game is designed to be very fast paced, with customers (heroes) demanding items faster than you can sell them. Once you get to a point where customer visit rate begins slowing down and you feel as though your inventory is filling up quickly, it is either because your shop is not upgraded enough to allow for more concurrent customers or because your inventory capacity related furniture are not upgraded enough. With that said, our team will still be looking further into the balance to make sure that the game does not feel restrictive to players. As for tax on items sold on trade, the entire model was borrowed from the same ask-bid system of any market-driven exchange.

So new patch came out, but I see you didn't fix the graphics bug of carpets going invisible after upgrading shop size.
We are aware of this bug but will require a bit more time to isolate and fix. It should be pushed with the next update once we update the UI/UX for related screens. Thanks for your report and patience meanwhile.
We considered a cap for pricing, which will work very well for lower level items, however, in order to keep the global trade system a free market economy, this price roof would not bold well with more rare or end game items. Players who elect to sell items for ridiculous margins will find no real advantage in itself. Their trade slots will get tied up from being used and their item(s) for sale will not get displayed if there are others selling it at a lower interval.

Also another thing that could be done is to add random agents from other "kingdoms" who come in and offer quests for crafting. "I need 10 spiked clubs! Will you take my order?" You can take the "quest" or decline it.

Two things I see an issue with. Player are forced to grind many of a single item to master but then either have to wait for the slow purchase or just trash them. My solution is to add an item called "Salvage" which you earn by recycling items in your inventory. Only craftable items can be salvaged and it can be used to buy items to upgrade your store appeal. Amount of salvage per item can be determined by its XP value for crafting. This solves the grind and space issues that come from mastering items.
A lot of what you mentioned will be effectively alleviated with the upcoming fusion feature we will be releasing. You will be able to combined multiple items of the same quality for an item of higher quality or to combine random items together to get a better random item.

Animation time for quest success (or fail) is much too long, and that 'You must choose your rewards' message is really annoying, especially when there are no multiple rewards to choose from.

is there any way you can make the chat boxes be able to copy and paste text or basic translation in the text ? i have a few people in my city that are from different parts of the world and i cant understand them or copy the their text so i can put it in google or something.
We will have to look further into this and get back to you. Although I must inform you that for the next 6-8 weeks, we have got our hands full with game balancing, bug fixing, polishing, UX/UI improvements and performance upgrades.

After finally noticing the option to hold on the alternate trade for a list of all different items that hero will buy, I've noticed something: when just clicking on the item to swap, you need the amount of energy +1, or else you can't swap; but if you go into the list of items, you can swap with any item for the exact amount of energy. For example, if I want to switch to an axe using just the basic, I would need 3 energy, but if I use the list and select the same axe, i only need 2.

Good game so far, love the graphics. I remember cloudcade had deals with S&P devs but it got pulled. Did you guys actually get the rights? Either way S&P devs were way to greedy.
We have no association with Edgebee and S&P whatsoever. Different company, different team, different product. However, Shop Heroes is in fact designed by the same creative mind behind the game design of the S&P series.
This is actually just a display issue, the 2 ribbons are switched in the current version between the fountain of gems (most popular) and the $99.99 chest of gems (best value). We will be pushing a fix with the next update to correct these!

to play the game you will need the Unity Web Player if the game says you need to log in try to reload the page it may take a few tries if it still does not load go to the kongregate home page and go back to the game and the game will load
Was your inventory full at the time? That is the only reason I could think of unless there is indeed a bug! Let me know if you have the issue again! I really wish there were a way to resize the screen. Actually, I may look for a full screen option that I may have missed. As is, due to my crappy and ancient monitor, I have to zoom the browser to 75% just to fit the game in the screen, which means that there is no way in hell I can read the chat, as well. Otherwise, excellent game, here! :) I loved S&P 1/2, and this seems like an excellent addition to the genre without the frantic time management going on to avoid butthurt customers. Also, being able to upgrade recipes through continued crafting is wonderful.
There is a fullscreen option in the settings but there is currently an issue on Kongregate where is switches off. We are working on a fix to implement as soon as we can!

Still, resources compulsory collection is really a pain, especially since you cannot collect from the crafting screen, which forces you to go back to your shop and collect before going back to crafting... Please make items collection disappear too... All in all, too many clicks, far more than in S&P2.

I like the game so far, but since the game is still in beta I am hoping the devs are still open to suggestions. I would like to see an ai improvement so the shop heroes do not destroy their current items if their existing item is better than what they purchased. Or maybe a way to lock a slot to protect a valuable item. Or having some sort of comparison statistics would be nice. The way things are now I lose a lot of time jumping back and forth between the hero screens and the shop screen to compare my items.
Here's an tip - You can collect all your resources at once by click-dragging down on the side bar! I hope this will help you save time! Also note that the resource and crafting collection was intended in design to later accommodate PvP.

a 3 day timer on auction house? a 24 hour timer i could see to help reduce abuse and spam but 3 days? thats very excessive
The 3 day cooldown only occurs when a player lists and removes an item repeatedly. This was implemented to prevent players from using trade slots as extra storage. Although I will admit that the UI could use some work from our end. Hence, our focus on UI/balance/stability across the next few weeks while we launch in Beta here.

so i tried to get the wardrobe during one of the tutorial messages but i bought it using coins instead of the blue gems and then the game got stuck there with the tutorial sending me to buy wardrobes over and over again

okay so here's the whole thing. It might have been a bug, or a visual thing? Dunno. So I put 4 stone down first. and then I got some error code after uipgrading, reloaded and then I Had 3 when I came back in and it now says sold out. Then I put down 4 wood ones. The 4 stayed and then I upgraded one and 2 upgraded at the same time I was like okay w/e. After it finished I got an error code, reloaded, and I have 3 bins again with the sold out notice.
There's clearly an issue here as you should not be able to place more than 3 bins of the same resource, this is probably what is making your game crash. I'll have someone from our QA department investigate the issue! If it happens again can you give us the 4 character error code that you get, it will help alot with the investigation!

I got the error message saying that I need to log in, even though I was logged into my Kongregate account. Found out my issue was I was using a new machine that didn't have Unity on it yet. Once I got that, I was able to get in the game. Hope this helps for some people out there.
Hi, can you confirm that they have disappeared and are not just invisible (if you click where they were does it do anything)? Also you can verify if they are not just in your warehouse! If so you can put them back in your shop!

okay so i played the hell out of swords and potions and was one of the top ranked players for a while. . This is basically the same thing. Theres very slight differences but its basically the same game reskinned. I invested a ton of time into that game, why would I invest it into the same game with a different skin? You really need to add more features. If you add something to it to make it not feel like the exact thing I will most likely invest time and money into it.
First look is a bit deceiving I'll admit! But the more you play, the more you'll notice the difference in gameplay. We also have over 2 years of features planned with more social, competitive and dynamic content to be released regularly!

Sad Panda! I got a key from a spin, and with that key I opened the first wooden box and everything went downhill from there. It didn't register me as having opened the box, and then I was finally able to get another wooden box from my heroes, I open it, and then I find out I have to equip the iron helm that I already sold... I think that might be a bug...
That is definitely something we'll fix. Is your progress blocked right now? We will give you a key to replace the one lost. I'm going to need your in-game name.

i liked the s&p games so im exited for this game but i cant seem to make it work, i got a few connection errors and it asked me to log into my kong account, really exited to see this game and how it plays

Not too shabby. Seems like you guys polished up S&P 2. Two things though. Are there days in this game? Because I played for quite some time and it never seemed to end the day. Also do the customers stick around until you are ready to choose an option? Because they never seemed to leave as in S&P 2. Glad you guys are still around and making games btw.
