The familiars are way too expensive without spending real money. For a standard item / upgrade in pretty much any idle game, it doesn't feel right.
Thanks for the feedback. In addition to the gems received from completing the adventures in the game, you do get gems from the first time you kill a boss on each adventure or free play, so it isn't too bad to grind out the gems needed for all the free familiars.

@ZLOK that was also the case for me for a few days.
Always place the rogue in the best position in order to maximize his dmg.
But right now, i have 2 chars that do much more dmg then him!
the guy with a hamster pet does insane dmg. And the birdman after a certain upgrade also starts to do very good damage.
You can toggle the level purchase button, through the x1, x25, x 100, and Upg. The Upg toggle will purchase the levels on a Champion up to the next upgrade the champion has as well as purchasing the upgrade. That toggle also works when you have a familiar set to level up a Champion.
He can be a powerful starting Champion, but as you earn more Champions through the events he might not be on top. It also depends on what adventure you're doing.

I love the realms so much, and have been waiting so long for this game to come to kong because Steam effs up my computer.....that said (and I know you claim things can be gotten for free, and I don't mind investing in good games)......but this is way too much $$$. Very sad.
The ability to purchase Champions is only there if you can't wait to unlock the Champions over time. Like the Greengrass event which is currently running, which lets you unlock Nrakk and Aila for free, and you can do the event adventures and free plays to earn chests for both of them.

would it be possible to give Jarlaxle's repeat attack some sort of a grace period? There's just far too many times where he stomps something, and then not even a quarter second later another enemy shows up on screen.

I saved up 500 gems because there was a special for buying a gold chest in that it included a 478% to everyone card for the base character as a bonus. Upon actually being able to afford a gold chest and clicking the ad it now said -- must buy 3 or more with kreds. I can understand wanting some kred return on your investment of making the game, but that annoyed me significantly and made the pay to play massively evident (above and beyond me saving up my first gems to get something that was denied).
The store shouldn't show the Golden Epic item unless you select a real money amount of Gold chests to purchase. If it was showing with a gem purchase or event currency purchase, that was a bug, and it should be reported using the Help & Support button above the game. Golden Epic items are normally only available with real money purchases, or if we give them away through an in-game celebration.

hum... at level 20, the crazy farmer, I noticed that if you take time to "read the story" the action stops, but the boss keeps powering up. Not good...

I don't like how this game sizes on Kongregate. I have to size it down to 75% to see the whole screen on my laptop. Too bad I was really excited by the description.
Thank you for the feedback. Given the nature of our game, we do find a tutorial to be helpful to most players, and most of the tutorial messages time out without you having to click them away.

so is there anything in the game that gives us a reason to upgrade click damage? cause the only thing i can find that makes clicks useful past the first 10 minutes of the game completely invalidates the click damage upgrades.
There's one adventure in the Tomb of Annihilation where you'll probably want to upgrade click damage, but otherwise it's just there to help you out with starting adventures, and because it felt weird when you couldn't help the Champions with clicking while waiting for them to attack.

To think, with access to D&D intellectual property you could have made a turn based tactical RPG with amazing gameplay, characters, and plot. Instead we get... this.
Thank you for reaching out. Looking at your account, you completed your adventure. That resets everything back to just Bruenor being available on your next run, and you'll have the bonus gold find from the divine favor you earned to help your next run go faster, along with any gear you received from chests you opened. If you do have further issues in the game, you can put in a support ticket using the Help & Support button at the top of the game, and we'll try to help.

Progression is painfully slow. Its just you feel very weak and without choice for a long time, it suffers from a tightfisted earlygame that doesn't incentivize you to keep playing, and this genre has a lot of high quality alternatives.
Thank you for the feedback. If you're finding it takes too long to complete a normal adventure, then we recommend playing a few free play adventures to build up your favor and improve your gold gain, as well as possibly be able to purchase Blessings without using up all your favor. Also, silver chests to get your Champions equipped with a piece of gear in each slot, and then buying Gold chests to work on getting their Epic gear. Gear definitely helps with making progression when starting new campaigns, events, or time gates, where you don't already have a favor bonus.

You guys sure put a lot of thought into your work...

Needs the ability to pause monster spawns, or have 'campfire' areas every 10 levels or so so that the player can experiment with party formations without all the visual noise of combat

At first I thought, oh, WotC made an Idle game, then wondered how bad it was going to be after the debacle that was their re-write of MTGO for v3. Turns out it was probably just licensed from WotC by this dev, and they cloned their other game CotLI. I played that, not really interested in playing a near clone of it. There isn't anything wrong with it, I've just already played the game enough as it is. I mean, yes, I can play this, but it's essentially the same thing with a re-skin and minor changes, so there's no real reason to.

Nothing feels better then meditating like a monk for 4 minutes, then watching a bird fly by at mach 12, only to snipe it out of the sky like this is Duck Hunt 2022. Those little suckers must have been in a rush to get to the bird bank because, darn, they're loaded.

@aloe111 The Blue menu on the top left corner "Complete Adventure", also if you click on the "search" icon of the heroes, you can see its HP

remember this DnD session where you and your group went through 3 different dungeons and you didn't find a single chest to open?
Me neither.
We do give a brief tutorial on completing an adventure if you want to change, but it is brief. There's the double arrow blue button on the screen, in the row of blue buttons in the top left of the screen. Click it to complete an adventure and collect the favor you've earned up until that point.
The exact HP is shown when you bring up their character sheet. There's also the red bar on the formation circle for a Champion, which shows you their health remaining.
If you do have further issues in the game, you can put in a support ticket using the Help & Support button at the top of the game, and we'll try to help.
Do you have two Kongregate accounts? We don't reset the progress associated with your Kongregate ID. As it's an idle game, when you complete an adventure you do go back to only having your bench 1 Champion out, but you gain the reset currency, which is divine favor for various dieties in D&D lore. If you really did lose progress, please put in a support ticket using the Help & Support button at the top of the game.

Fellow beginners: you can close the map that blocks the screen after you complete the first tutorial mission by pressing the M key. Devs: I think it would be worth adding a note to this effect in the game, as it looks like a game ending bug.
When you complete the first adventure, you are meant to be taken to the world map screen, and then shown how to start a new adventure for the 2nd tutorial adventure. If you were stuck on the screen and unable to start the next adventure, please put in a support ticket using the help & support button above the game.

games been out for a long time, I dont know why people think the devs are gonna change shit like monetization at this point.
Most of these codes will expire shortly (if any players are finding this comment in the future.) Generally unless it's a code for a personal chest from our newsletter which don't expire, the codes expire anywhere from 24 hours after release up to a week.

Apologies... I though I saw a pattern in the bush goblin, but I see now whether he gives gold or not is quite random. Is this intentional?

Great update from Crusaders of the Lost Idols! Much more engaging, including background bonuses. On that note, two things: 1) A bug: the first time (in any adventure) that you cut the head off the goblin in the bush, there's no gold. Afterwards he's profitable (for the rest of the adventure). 2) Request: The fact that you can retract the upper HUD is a bonus when trying to click Mach-5 crows etal. but you retract to much. Please leave just the gold count and DPS on the screen (left) and the green progress bar on the right. Or, alternatively, have three states: All (like now), mid (like I suggest), and none (like now). Thanks and great game.

Played this for a few months on Xbox. Not going to restart my progress but chiming in to say it is a pretty decent game. While yes there are tons of things to purchase for kreds, you can most earn most things in game for free. They frequently have events where you can unlock paid heroes for free. You can farm resets for plenty of currency. You can get all the best gear for all your base characters for free from grinding. That being said, consumables account for a very high amount of end game progress. Popping a gold+damage+gamespeed+etc pots become almost a necessity for continuation at some point which is probably frowned upon.
