so I guess while you made $20,000, your true love met another man and decided she was going to marry him, and all of this happened in about a month...

I love how simple and entertaining this game is! (not finished yet 'cause I'm being thorough)
... Just one problem though... I don't see how a cave-in could fall UP... but other than ignoring the law of gravity I think it's a great game so far ^_^

Finished Day 18, all upgrades lvl 3, used only one and one half of the mines/screens/storeys/levels. Ten levels of mines was overkill. Good start of a game, looking forward to what you make with the skills you learned building this one.

When (in the 19th century) she knows that she's expecting a child 26 days after I left her, something has gone TERRIBLY wrong :>

Interesting Game was fun while it lasted, Pretty Simple and i liked it that way. managed to get 20.000$ on 15 days.. but i wish there was more than 1 ending and that you could enter the Saloon and the Sheriff, i have read all the other replies to other comments you have done i understand its annoying to work on the same thing all the time.. (not that i ever have done that in making a game) but the game is good as it is. deserves a badge on completing it :p
Thanks for you kind words! I've started playing around with a complete re-write which will be heavily influenced by the comments here. I've already got unlimited levels without switching scenes, and the annoying movement lag is gone! Here's hoping I'll get to finish it someday! ;)

Seems like an ok game but needs a little explanation or tutorial. You are just put into the game and dont really know what your supposed to do
I completely agree! It was a learning project and, to be honest, I got tired of working with my mess of code. I tied off the ends and released it so I could move on. Thanks for the feedback! I'll definitely take everything said into consideration for my next project!

Wait, I've been gone three weeks and my fiance not only has found someone else, she's already pregnant? This whole thing was a setup!
Man, I hate it when rich mine-owning dads trick me into mining their gold for them! This is like the third time this year!

Text in the story and the menus is missing. The game has no music. Where do I sell my ore? The guy moves pretty slow. That wouldn't be so bad with music or sound effects. Putting me to sleep. Good job making me bored with a video game. I thought it was impossible.

omg the mine caved in first game cause i immediately went way too far down then i played again and got caved in again and i was like oshi- but somehow i survived...kewl

Played this on Stencly as well, but I think I played an earlier version, this is greatly improved. I love your graphics and the little story as well and it's good to see a "Stencyler" working outside of the provided tutruials, Nice one mate! Great game

I love the ending XD! Thats the kinda behavior a girl who makes you pay to marry her would have. Though why are you all sad you have 20000 and theres still a big mine out there...

Miner gives a great 8-bit feel. Going down into the depths of the earth to mine around, testing my luck is quite fun. I love how easy it is to get started in this game. I would've preferred background music, which changes upon going deeper into earth. Great work COLEISLAZY, keep it up.

I think if you die you should respawn at the town with zero energy/health/ore. Rather than just "You died. Sorry. New game?"

I got enough money in 21 days and she said that she couldn't wait that long and was already married and expecting?????

I think there needs to be a way to like maybe increase your maximum energy, and maybe make it cot more at the hotel to heal if your energy is higher. that way, you could ACTUALLY fill your bag with the 2nd, or 3rd upgrade, i sell my ores everyday, and other then those, Pretty awesome game, this is almost exactly what i was searching for when i searched 'Mine'.
Yeah, I've learned a lot from creating this. It actually uses Box2D collisions slightly (even though it shouldn't) to make things easier for me. That is what kills the framerate. Live and learn. My next game will be better. Thanks for playing, though!

A somewhat enjoyable, if monotonous, game. That's just how they were made back then, though, and the tribute seems faithful. Only improvements I'd like to see would be music, and maybe a time limit to instill a sense of urgency. Otherwise, had problems with directional keys being logy sometimes and sometimes double/triple moving in one direction from just one push.

good game but :D
elevator is too slow for 2+ screens, a bug resets the sceens when you enter the 3rd and after then ever screenchange. fix that plz.
upgrades for stamia are nessesary, because i spend more time in elevator then mining.
4/5

i know, why you cant leave the town: after a mining day, your energy is nearly emty. you have to refill it at the docĀ“s or the hotel + to keep this alive
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Yep. Pretty sure I've tried everything I can to escape the town. Seems without money you can't leave, or perhaps it's only at the very beginning this bug can occur?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
At the beginning I followed the sign pointing to what I would discover is the town. There was no way out of the town. Bug?
I've honestly never played it, though I've certainly seen it. Perhaps it was subconscious. Actually, the graphics were inspired by Oryx's work at oryxdesignlab.com.

Pretty good, although I can't go any farther because I sold all my ores and got a bag... and I'm left with $1 and can't sleep D:
