This game is Stoic. It implies that pleasures are always countered by consequences. Sex and drinking are fine until you encounter STDs and hangovers.
I prefer Epicurean teachings. Avoiding pleasures altogether is not a way to live. Rather, Epicurus taught that friends and food were all that were needed to have a good life.

Love seems to become an addiction here. The thirst for love and to be together with other people are basically without an alternative here, which is a sad thing somehow. The game progresses in a linear fashion and leaves out a some important facets when it comes to this emotion.

Great game- My personal theory for it not having like a 4.9999 (or even a 5.0) rating is that there are some people out there who don't understand what this game means, and they rate it down because of that.

ironicaly... in the game is not getin "to close" to others what hurts you but touching them.
(insert sex desgracefull life/ venereal desses joke here)

nice game, i love the games which are more than a stupid thing to kill time. Still I have a few advices:
1) i wish mouse click was able to be used to start a new game instead of space. I hated to move back to my keyboard to press only one key.
2) The notes could have built a better harmony. This way the game sounds so depressive and pessimist. The same thing goes with color of the boxes and the background. Consider it please :)

As much as people like this game, I have to disagree. I am a huge fan of art games, I just don't think this one is well done. The design for this game is similar to the highly artistic and interpretive stories from so common from young writers. The art is well done (if heavy handed) but the problem is that the substance is so underdeveloped. I am a big proponent of games as art, but I think that with rare exception, the first rule is that the game has to be fun. If it’s not interesting, then there is no reason to play it in the first place. This game is simply not fun. The game play is boring, repetitive and never changes. The music is not at all interesting and is comprised entirely of low wails that make me want to turn the sound off. There is so much potential here, but so poor execution.

we don't feel love. you made a game with a cold, distant feel to it where we take control of something that isn't remotely human, getting happiness points from laser beams of love. there's no emotional attachment for us, it doesn't immerse or draw us in. it just lulls us into autopilot with a low difficulty level and then jukes us so we have to start over.
... also, that square is a slut.

Absolutely Brilliant. This is what I love to see here, gaming raised to an art form. I also love that, whether people notice it or not, there is a meta-game between you as the creator and us as the players, embedded in the overall theme.

I feel like a whore, always throwing myself in the middle of the boxes wanting all of them to love me at once, and if they wouldn't share, I'd go find a group that would share me...

i think it's an interesting concept to a game but there really isn't much to it. have to give it a 2/5 stars. sorry. i like the comments after you die though

It's a good concept, but I can't help thinking that I have no reason to 'love' these squares. And getting close to someone doesn't necessarily mean getting hurt.

What a badass litlle square I am on that game. I come to all the squares I can, promissing they love, and on the middle of this poligamy, I go on stealing their hapiness. But it is a good gme. 5/5

It would be interesting if there was a multiplier for the length or the amount of "happiness" you gave to a particular square at one time. So if you don't let go of a particular square for a long time you get tons and tons of happyiness, moreso if you manage to keep multible squares within your grasp... The multiplier would reset if you let go of it though. (maybe it would slowly get faster as well, to make it harder to catch as well?)

Not a bad game, but it may clash with another indie game's title (Love+, which is a platformer). The game itself is great, but it doesn't have a pause function! Please add one!

5/5 for having an interesting theme and sticking to it. anyone else notice that the other squares stop spinning when you get close to them? XD

Nice concept, like the tips. Very clever, but it's not really a satisfying 'game'. If you could somehow marry the interesting concept with an interesting game, then we'd have a winner.

the only major fault i can find is that a white background on the tutorial when your a white square isn't a good idea. It took me ages to see i was a square instead of beliving what i was told and i spent quite a while thinking not seeing how close to other squares you are was part of the game. 4/5

everytime you got all squares connected to you at the same time, another square is created, doesnt matter how many points you got
