Link-splash-fork sentries? I prefer splash-link-optimizer, and if I have enough space, I can stuff an extender or even two onto a sentry to get 2 opts or splash. I find splash on this tower ineffective, as it rarely gets to hit a thing with splash, while fork/link quadruple the damage of anything barring compressor (or tower with battery).

"Mmm... cheese." Thank you for raising the bar for tower defense games yet again. Playing with that Transcoder was fun; I'm kind of glad the most OP thing I could do in most levels was link-splash-fork Sentries.

A Scanner can add +1 to any damage received by a target monster for a long enough time to have its own use apart from ghost monsters. It's fun seeing memory leaks do 2/tick and infections do 3/tick - this amasses quickly. Even vs Reavers it has a use, so if you got a needed scanner, don't recycle it just because of them - they will act as having 1 armor less.

While I agree that the Garbage Collector is useless on levels where there aren't any tiles that are messed up. The scanner can be a useful tower in certain scenarios

If there's no ghosts, a scanner is usable, but it's not really useful. If it's not revealing invisible enemies, then it's a more expensive Compressor with less power, no stored attacks, and slightly higher range. (perhaps significantly more, if you've upgraded it.) You're better off sticking a Range upgrade on a Compressor. For just 5 more points, you've got a significantly more powerful program. But none of this is really the point; the point is, it would be nice if the game would warn me that I'm bringing in very situational weapons, like the Garbage Collector, to a level where they won't be useful, like one with no Corrupters or Corrupt tiles. Not that it's a huge deal, of course. The game is still really cool. :)

The game warns me if I'm not bringing a tower that I will probably need. (E.G. Scanner to a ghost level) Why doesn't the game warn me if I'm still using the Scanner, even though there's no ghosts?
The Scanner tower is useful even when there are no Ghosts. The only time it's not a good tower is when you're fighting enemies with armor like the Reaver.

Hint: If your having trouble respec your skills so you use your points in an area that benefits you specifically for that level.

@shykirawolf note the Name ghost hacker 2, as in squeal to Ghost Hacker, therefore the plot probably begins in Ghost Hacker

So I'm not really a tower defense type person but I like the way you can switch between being the towers and the invaders. My main criticism would be that the plot line seems a little hollow and seems to start half way through.

I'll be honest, I don't like tower defense games so I won't be playing this much. But the aesthetic, theme, and creative uniqueness of the game is awesome as hell and you're getting a 5/5 from me just for that. If you ever do a different style of gameplay within this world, I'll be there!

Really love this game. Great mix of towers, add-ons, upgrades, and just the right amount of active abilities. Love how some add-on combos can really complement each other. Great level design, and difficulties are just right. And just when I thought it couldn't get better, the challenge mode was a really fun way to provide an extra kick after you've mastered your stratagies and force use of different ones.

Thanks, this worked for me... Moved the save from "chat.kongregate.com" to "assets.kongregate.com" .
Axion must be behind all this !

Just further to my previous comment re: my game save disappearing and reappearing - the only thing I can think could have caused it was logging out of one facebook account and creating a new one on the same computer. Otherwise I have no idea why this has happened.
My guess is Kongregate might have switched the save location back again. So make sure to make backups if you try to restore the save by moving the save files. You might be replacing the wrong one.

So weird, my save game disappeared last week (after 12 levels completed) so I started over again. Then over the next few days I got up to the final few levels. Then today my new save game has disappeared and my old one has returned.

I thought it so strange to lose my save, only to have it return. I wonder if my near complete game is going to turn up again later? Just as well I enjoy the game so much. I don't mind playing through again.
It seems like others are having problems too. Is there any more information I can provide to help fix this issue?

My saved data also disappeared this morning, although I have a file "GhostHacker2.sol" , dated from my last playing session. It's already located in the "chat.kongregate.com" folder in the path you mentionned to Chlorinate (for chrome). Any other idea to restore it?

the screen "Click Anywhere to Play" isn't functioning any more. i'd played the past few days, but can't load past that screen now. (my saved data also disappeared yesterday).
The "Click Anywhere to Play" should be fixed now. You can try restoring the saves by moving the save files from assets.kongregate.com to chat.kongregate.com (make sure to backup the files you replace)

where did save data go. Lost all progress.
Someone mentioned kongregate did something to where it was stored...how do I even tell the game where to look for data.

Is there actually any advantage to upgrading memory leak? The numbers coming up for the damage over time are always one, and I'm not noticing the creep loosing 3 every 2 seconds when I examine them.
It does round down the numbers that float above the enemy when damaging them, but it is doing the extra fractional damage. If you look at the "Damage done" stat it will show the amount increasing by 1, then 2, then 1, etc.
