Tips: If you use beam and linker, the beam will ricochet to the nearest enemy. This means, all enemies on a straight path will get hit. It is way more effective than using splash, but at the cost of using more tower upgrades slot.

Best tip for monster mode is to OVERUSE the pause button. Check every unit's range and find ways to overwhelm them with the least units possible. Pausing not allows you time to think, but it also prevents the enemy from recharging their bursts. Also, don't forget to send out trash units to soak up the bursts before sending in your real programs! Good luck everyone!

So many options for a tower defense game and the difficulty feels just right. The game makes you actually think. It also has a interesting story.

Remember, you can downgrade the towers you aren't using for a level, and re-allocate the data core points you earned to upgrade the towers you will be using for a level.

Clicking on the x10 arrow and moving the mouse off the button before release allows you to continue playing at x10 speed

Enable a transparency mode for pop-ups, during a level. When placing towers in the bottom right and trying to see their range the pop up can obscure the trail AND the range.

It's great to see you're an improving game developer. We can notice the changes in the graphics of the game, the mechanics, the fact that the powerups now only have one color. Everything's awesome! Way to go, keep it up :)

Gameplay: Requires and rewards strategy and problem solving. Two game modes really helps break it up, and gives the game much more depth. Ability to combine any tower with any upgrade is freeing. Each enemy is unique, requiring you to think on how to best counter each one.
Graphics: The graphics are VERY pretty eye candy and fit the theme. Love the enemies' unique looks/animations. I also love how the towers aim at the enemies and animate as well. The NPCs look amazing, and really bring you into the story (especially the easter egg NPCs).
Sound: Love the high quality sounds/music. It really fits and feels right and I love the beat. The laser sounds are average, but how can you improve that?
Story: The fact that a tower defense game has story is amazing let a alone a good one. It keeps you wanting to see and play more.
Overall: Perfect sequel! You took the first game improved it and polished it to perfection. This game easily deserves the highest of scores. Dare I say more please?

I think I found a bug: The Cooldown Duration global upgrade doesn't seem to actually reduce the cooldown. It certainly doesn't indicate the reduction in the program descriptions.

A tower defense game with new ideas instead of just c&p with different graphics? Wow... Awesome! I really like it. The concept is great and offers many different approaches, the difficulty is always challenging but fair, graphics and animations are awesome, sound gets repetitive but is still good. Story is ok, but I missed some animations and stuff along with the text-part... like in the intro. The only thing I really miss (and what would really take the gamplay on a new level) is something like a "bullet time" script, that slows down all enemies to be able to quckly react and move towers. But anyway - great game. Well done, thank you very much!

yup,5/5. no doubt in my mind. story, sound, graphics, gameplay, the whole shabang, you guys really nailed it! Ill be playing this alot :D. I also like that this isn't one of those really good games that was just far too short, as there seems to be alot of levels. The detail such as the sites' names and their descriptions is very indepth. The story is nice and interesting, even though i never played the first game. good job!

An cheap and really easy way to beat difficult levels: get the tower that stuns enemies for 0.5 seconds ("Sentry") (fully upgraded), and load it with 2 expanders, 4 fully upgraded faster attack rate buffs ("Optimizer") and 1 splash damage buff ("splash"). Then the attack rate is 0.5 and everything that comes within range gets stuck, and they just build up until they die (x.x)
A few pitfalls, the gravitron enemy (sucks stuff in) negates splash, and beam isn't always 100% effective at this. Superusers and bosses have decreased effect duration and so make it through. Also, some levels simply don't have a big enough space to put a sentry with 2 expanders. Multiple paths defeat it too.
CORESECTOR, you may or may not want to change it. By the time one gets the expander buff there are enemies that it doesn't work against. I don't know how many challenge levels have all those items .
BTW Ghost Hacker is my favorite td. Original ideas that are interesting are rare. /hat off

Awesome TD game, I enjoyed this so much more than ones like Gemcraft which is also a great game. The way you can upgrade your towers, and pick and choose which to bring makes it so nice. Just one thing... those damn glitches... really? They can knock out my towers? BAH!
Only change I might make in Ghost Hacker 3, is perhaps make the monsters upgradeable if you're going to do those in between challenges.

I wish there was a way to turn on a "turret range" overlay, so I can see what kind of overall coverage I have/they have
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The glitches are REALLY irritating. Already one of my most hated enemies in a tower defense game...but hey, at least it serves a challenge. :)

little tip, the ingame achievements reward you with upgrade points (data cores) so try going for them as soon as you can, some easy ones is "cant touch that" and "one trick pony" that you can easily do on the very 1st level in 1 or 2 tries, and a good level to do "this tower is op!"achievement is the sigil lvl 18, just "farm" damage on the center route, that as long as yoyu dont upgrade towers/use scripts TOO fast, you can just wait as your towers damage but dont kill the never ending 2-3 medic loop and glitches
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Very semi-unique game CoreSector, one feature that stuck out for me is that once you place a tower you can always move it without having to recycle and buy another one. I think that is something more TD games should implement.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Its not that bad but complex. YOu have to use your brain which is good but it can be a disavantage if you just want to kill time without thinking. :D

To anyone that is struggling with Monster Mode: We are going to make another pass at the amount of memory you start with. We will make sure the harder difficulty badges are still as challenging, but make sure to make easy considerably easier.
In the mean time, use the space bar (pause) when placing towers, and try using cheap units to draw the "battery" fire before releasing better units to take the towers out.

I absolutely cannot get past Challenge Level 12. I have followed both the walkthrough and the youtube video on it exactly, and I can't seem to do as much damage, eventhough I've leveled up 5/5 on everything in use on that level. I need help! It's my last challenge level, and it's beginning to challenge my sanity!
If you follow the walkthrough from clicking the walkthrough button, you should be able to follow it exactly. You will have to use the Corrupt script in the last two waves though. Do make sure you've got all the global upgrades upgraded as well as the programs you use in the level.

My only recommendation for this game is to please have the option to turn off the warping effect when you are "infected". At first I thought it was pretty cool. After awhile, though, it turned out to be more headache inducing than cool. So please include graphic options for things like that.

When you beat the game, you unlock Challenge Mode, which allows you to claim those extra data cores you couldn't get. This mode is the same as Hard Mode (Hard Mode - Enemies have 25% more health), BUT limits you to only use specific towers and upgrades. These towers and upgrades are locked and cannot be changed. (You can still upgrade them with data cores.)
For instance, level 1 gives you only 1 specific tower and 9 specific upgrades to use. Level 3 gives you all 9 towers and a script, but no upgrade icons for the towers.
If you find a level too difficult, remember that if you aren't using specific towers/upgrades/scripts, you can downgrade them, and move the data core points around to make the towers/upgrades you are using more powerful.

Vodnyk, if you have +1.2 poison damage, then it will damage 1-1-1-1-2, it just "builds up" the extra damage. hope this helps :)

All levels are okay on the difficulty, then BAM!!! lvl 17, get thorugh the first wave and you are a god :p (im stuck at wave 9 :/ co9ming back tomorow :))

So I'm missing one script; it's the one in the lower right-hand corner of the upgrade section. Anyone know what it is and how to get it?

this made me wonder, what happen to the last main character in ghost hacker I? if he got eliminated or deleted then it's kinda sad :C. would have been cool if we fight the corrupted of him or something

Here is my final set up for level 36 Hard: http://postimg.org/image/r82tj7a13/. I made some adjustments along the way, so you can't just use it without experimenting. It is very robust though and only had 2 close calls and they are the reaper's fault! Tricky trickster he is! A walkthrough is now available so I didn't bother numbering the sequence.

Corpserule: There is a difference between difficulty and "can't be beaten without the walkthrough." I agree that you don't want to be boring. But an exercise in futility is just as boring.

Found an interesting exploit for level 6. A PING tower, when a ready-made EXPANDER module is fitted on it, with BEAM and SPLASH modules attached, can produce two widened explosions for the price of one. Notably, removing BEAM module makes it non-functional, and putting a SPLASH module on the PING tower is usually impossible.
