I really love logic games, but if it involves a lot of guessing without any possiblity to save or mark guesses in a different way it just sucks - that is not logic anymore but trial and error

Walkthrough: "Difference" Method: 1) Compare the answer boxes to the sum. If Difference: (sum - Answer) is lower than the max number in the red circles (e.g. 9 in 1-9, 4 in 2-4, or 19 in 1-19), lock every number in that row/column that's higher than the difference. 2) At the same time, lock every number that CAN'T be combined with another unlocked number, to form the Difference. 3) Sweep each column and each row. 4) Repeat sweeps until you've locked everything you can. 5) If you're ever left with a row/column where the unlocked buttons = Difference, remove them and lock the row/column. // From here, some additional things to try if you're still stuck: A) "Construction": As an alternate perspective, look at the numbers in the row that you HAVE locked. Add them together, and figure out what you're missing in order for it to add up to the answer box. Remove any number which doesn't combine well with the others. /// + if this helps!

Could be ok, but there are a few big problems:
1) The interface is rather clunky for laptops/desktops. Definitely looks like a port from a phone app with little effort added.
2) Overloading left click. Click to turn on/off, click to lock, click to unlock, click to lock a row, click to check sum. Moving something to right click (say, locking) would be really helpful.
3) The 2-4 8x8 isn't solvable except by getting lucky. Especially in this context, having a flag to denote guesses would be very helpful to visualizes what you know and what you think might work. (Note: I did guess one right for the badge, but that mostly involved restarting until I got a favorable puzzle.)

If I ever get the 2-4 8x8 completed through trial and error, I am totally gonna post a screen shot of it completed in these comments lol. For bragging rights of "I did it!"

I cannot get past a 2-4 board. I've realized that it's never possible to reason out a solution, but it's really frustrating having to randomly try a bunch of different possibilities.

It's easy once you know the trick.. # You have a column with 41 .. and the sum of the numbers is 47.. so if there is 7-8-9 lock them. cause if you take them off it will be lower than 41. And Sometimes some numbers if you take them off there are no other numbers that go with them to reach 41.. for example you have 5, so it will be 42 and there is no 1 to reach 41... so 5 stays. Lock it. these are the two tips I figured so far..

I was able to logic out everything except the 8x8 2-4 level. I had to guess on a few to complete that one. I would have liked to be able to set a number a different color to indicate that I am setting this based on a guess (I know you can lock numbers, but I needed to set numbers based on my earlier "guess"... it got pretty confusing to keep track of my actions based on guesses after a while).

The only suggestion/problem I really had was in how finicky the locking feature was. Specifically it kept locking cells when I didn't want to; where I swore that I just used a short click, but it interprets it as a hold. But I have no idea if it was my system/browser configuration or not. (If no one had a similar problem, I'll assume as much. :/ )

Ah - I have found the lock button. :) Actually it makes the game too easy! But that's not a bad thing; one can play without it. Fun little game, I enjoyed getting all three badges!

I liked the game, but it bothered me that levels have multiple solutions. It basically means you have to reason to shrink the solution space, then try randomly until something works.

Suggestion: It's a lot easier for me to start at an erased board rather than one where all the buttons start activated. It's annoying to have to take the time to erase everything before I can start the puzzle. A setting to start with everything turned off would be amazing.

Tip for 2-4: Restart the level until you get a favorable board. None will be perfect, but some are a LOT easier than others.

Great concept. Here's my general approach:
1. Pick a row (or column)
2. Click on the answer box next to the row (or column) to see the total
3. Subtract the answer from the total to get the DIFFERENCE
4. For the row (or column), highlight in gold all the numbers that are higher than the DIFFERENCE. Taking away any of these numbers means you'll never add up to the answer.
5. For the remaining numbers in the row (or column), look for any that don't add up to the DIFFERENCE. So for example if the difference is 7, and your numbers are 1, 2, 3, and 5, then you would keep 1 and 3 because you might have to turn off 2 and 5 together. Naturally, there will be cases where many different combinations exist
6. If you know a number must be turned off, just turn it off. For example, if the answer is 7, and your numbers are 4, 3, and 3, you know the 4 must be turned off, but you're not sure which of the 3's should be turned off. Turn off the 4 to make things easier.
Repeat.

A tip for beginners: if the line-number is 35 and the sum between the line is 40. You can lock in all numbers bigger then 5. This made it really easy to go true the endless levels

Can you make it to where it blocks it with the right click or something instead of holding cause I click it sometimes and it locks/unlocks thigns with just a click.

Not always a unique solution? Oof, that's gonna cost a point. Well, it's a very enjoyable and original game otherwise, so that's a 4/5.

Couldn't the difference be displayed when you click on a row/column? And why is it necessary to even click on a row/column? There is enough space to display the difference over or on the side of the rows/columns. Yes, I am VERY lazy.

Since some people missed it: You can lock ANY number. Mark them as yes or no and click them again for a slightly longer time. That way they will stay locked. Even the dark ones.

Fantastic game, only thing I'd argue it needs is a button that lets you tick off a number that you know you /need/ as opposed to just ones to eliminate. Otherwise I've found I'm going over the same numbers again and again without realising I'm repeating myself.
