This game made me never want to play flash games again...scoring is inconsistant, accuracy with the trebuchet seems a bit finiky, destroy the castle and not advance to the next level?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
How do you get to level 2??? Anyone - anyone???
Score is obviously irrelevant.
Do you have to knock down the king?
Some button to click - that is when the side scrolling doesn't randomly lock up.
Lag? Nope - a few minutes and still nothing.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Hmm... scoring really not consistant. Being buried under a wall sometimes doesn't score, and then you can never score. They are safely buried under tons of stone. And balls hitting other balls is weird. You can smash walls, but hitting another ball and you practically stick.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I know what is wrong with the scoring. If the first two levels each had a 1000 quota, and I score 2000 on level 1, I shouldn't be able to fail level 2. Make the quotas game-long instead of level-long. Then it wouldn't feel so crappy when you blitz a tower and then choke on the next one.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Nearly awesome. More wall types would be cool. Some sort of feedback on where you released the ball too. Even just a background would help. Plus, if you kill the king or do a slow full-tower topple on the last ball, it doesn't score any points. Wait to score until I hit space one last time or something. And maybe instead of throwing back to title screen, do a "Retry level with 50% points?" option like some shooters do.

4/5 and faved
I love the game and for some reason I think it's hillarious, but I think it's annoying how you get sent back to the start whenever you fail a level, and the scoring system can be dumb. I took a whole castle down in one hit and then could hardly score anymore, so I failed the level D:
Great game though :)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Its a fun game, but it has a lot of potential. Making the scoring system better would be one HUGE improvement. The castle walls can fall down around guys, but they won't die? I mean come on, really?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
You are wrong, "lead" is spelled with an 'a'. Anyway, the speed seems okay. I would just like to not have to start the entire game over just for failing a level. That makes it tedious. The idea is fun though and has potential.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
You're wrong - Lead is spelt with an 'a'. If its in reference to the metal used as a counter-weight on the trebuchet. Good game I like it
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Half of the time it isn't playable due to the sucky controls... i think you should make it launch in a more real-life speed... i've seen one of these... your trebuchet is too fast... and, also, correct me if i'm wrong, but 'Led' is not spelled with an 'a'
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I love it. I'm sure you've got a lot of plans, and I'm confident this game will just get more awesome. I personally would love to see:
1) Better controls. Maybe you can earn an auto-release timer or "stabilizers" or something
2) Breakable walls
3) Flaming Spheres (set people on fire, so you can get more points even if not a hard hit. Also, wooden walls/things could burn)

i found a glitch:when you lose and if you have unlocked big ball just click big ball and then reset and when you restart you have bigball but you have to lose first
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@pdu18: Same problem here, and worse, I broke 40,000 which at the time of this writing would have been second all time :(
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
love it! but need improvment , espicially game system it's annoying to have to start from the beginning, and a level selector maybe, a system of life..? --> 4/5, 5 if more lvl
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
After reaching 15k points in a game and starting a new one pressing reset gives the last equipment used, so you can even start with lead counterweight and big ball...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The game is fun, level editor is also fun, the space bar thing is annoying. Especially in a game where timing your shot is important.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Awfully bugged. After finishing (?) the game (the level where there's loads of guys in a row and no walls) I was taken back to the menu screen without being able to submit my score or anything. Could've been pretty good.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The spacebar is really wonky. It seems fairly random whether or not the game will recognize when I press it. Tried on 4 separate computers.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Scoring system seems wonky... knock over the entire castle and still manage to get 0 points for the flag which has fallen over and 0 points for the king crushed under all the rubble.

Addicting game. Terrible graphics, but it doesn't matter in this game. Great physics, my only issue is in some of the later levels, the castles are floating..
My favorite thing to do is to hit their bodies so that the head stays and the body flies :)
Also: If you hit the reset button, you keep whatever you had equipped at the time. I.E: I'm using lead and a big rock at level 1
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Very buggy.. but it's a good start... resetting with 20000 points gets you lead weights and big ball at level 1.. which is about as buggy as a game could be
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Fix on the glitch, when it's calculating score, chose the weight and ball, only if you have it, and you start lvl 1 with it.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Ok 1 issue, The momentum doesn't transfer well, that's ok though. I found a glitch, don't know if anyone else did: After so long in the game I had failed a level and knew I did, so at the points screen I restarted right as it finished calculating, I'm starting off level 1 with lead and big ball.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Oh yes, and the castle is not as important as the people. There are some stages (I don't have them memorized) where there are large amounts of soldiers on the castles. Try to take off heads. As the head and body roll around you get extra points of damage to them.

This is for those who can't seem to get past the first level or second level: After playing this for a while now I have greatly refined my aim. While doing so I have realized something. It's not just where you aim your shot, it's when you shoot it. There are times that yes, you make a shot and you know it's going to rock enough to fall so you wait. But there are other times where you hit it and you're not sure it's going down so your impulse is to wait. Well don't. Hold your shots when you know you have it, but if you're not sure then fire away as soon as possible. If you slam an already unstable castle it's going to go down.

This game needs a lot more to it 1. add an infinite ball mode (maybe) 2. make a choice of trebuchet OR catapult. 3. add more variety and make it so walls damage easier. 4. Make it so timing doesn't have to be as precise (1. ball flys out hits target 2. slightly more and ball flys to ground.) it would be a LOT better if u penciled these in!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Dude...did you try playing your own game? Level 2 is a massive pain in the sphincter, and of course you have to replay level one every time you screw up level 2. Super annoying.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
This game, though it has some unappealing graphics, has good physics and a worthwhile theme. I only ran into one physics issue, and that is that the balls, when bounced off each other, bounce very weakly and the balls sitting in front of the castle can really mess up the shot. This game is insanely addicting for some reason.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
For a game that claims to know alot about trebuchets, it doesn't know very much. First of all, the point at which the stone was released from the netting was predetermined before firing by changing the length of the rope that tied it to the arm. Second - Upgrades are not meant to change the physics of the game. Note the prefix "up." "Up" generally denotes that something got BETTER!!!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
First I was irritated that I couldn't get pass the first level. Then I realized I didn't really want to go to any other levels. Now I'm irritated I played this game at all.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Two physics issues: It bounces backward off the ground sometimes, and it bounces off the sky occasionally. Other than that, Resetting the level rather than the game would be nice, as would having the camera move directly back to the catapult if you fire by accident (or on purpose).
Also, let the level finish moving before you count the score. I knocked over the entire castle on the last shot but the game only registered 10 points for the shot.
