Well congrats, its a simple but addicting game, Wished were more complex and more to do after got everything up n running smooth. The Continue doesn't work, games frozen except for the changing of the day/night (not that i would, nothing to do). The ending isnt clear enough with a quick click I missed my stats, which I guess was also ok with out a way to compare too anyone else :(; maybe a comparison of previous players? The graveyard messed up a few times with being able to build on one (third from left if matters), also found if grave started on a ploughed land would allow you to plant. Had played enough in first few moments to want to master it, kept ya busy n thinking n was appropriately difficult to warrant replays to get to the end. Thanks n again hope a few that liked the game were equally frustrated and addicting ;) to play it through...Woulda liked a "are ya sure ya wanna deconstruct this?" ;)
Thank you very much for such a complete review - I'll try and fix most of those problems at the weekend. If you clear a building by accident, you can cancel that action as long as it hasn't been demolished yet.

5/5 but one thing that bothers me is that all of my deaths are illness-related, even when I have 100 health my family still dies from illness.

@ tivar, to build a windmill, you need to research it. going to school gives you the research points you need to do that. labor is just for earning coin, while market lets you buy and sell stuff.

lol reached year 1525 while playing at 4x speed. even if you have 80% chance of death at age 105, that still means you have to wait for about 400 years after you finish the tech tree before you get 12 gravestones. (probably way more if you play seriously at 1x spd and make everything perfect).

Ugh, I didn't brought bread, becauseI tought they liked vegetable ( which is healthier) but no...
The result is, they all died.

Nevermind. 30 wood = windmill and 25 = animal pen. It really needs to show up as something you can do, but you just don't have the resources.

Is there some magic to building a windmill or oven? All I can do at home is research and add to the family, all I can do elsewhere is plow or plant trees. Market/school/labor doesn't seem to do anything either.
I would love someone to make a walkthough or example play video. Anyone? In the meantime, read all the gameplay tips. Roll the mouse over the house to see them.

Terrific game. The tips provide a tractable learning curve even without a tutorial. I like that it has a beginning, middle, and end. Now just allow us to dig up the bones of our ancestors and convert them into fertilizer...

its not very hard to know it costs gold to go to school, when you use it. it says -25 gold gold, 'that must mean it costs 20! gold' NO IT DOESNT. so stop saying it costs 20, 25. and how do you go to school, theres no option

what i meant by 'the credits' isnt just for knowledge (i still wanna know what about the living people) but also just some funny/sad little ending

is there some requirement to going to school? I can only RARELY choose that option, and I have on real idea as to why. Becoming quite annoying. I have more then enough people to do so, but no-one ever does.

at the end i want to see... my people still living, date of birth, etc... how the last person died, i didnt see anything and they were quite young. some other things i think, but its great

Hmmmm my family births Satan and everyone starts dying off from illness's. Something tells me that a little family rivalry is going on inside those walls.
That would fix the scores for new players, but anyone who played before the change would lose out - I need to think carefully before making changes like that.

Um CG, I started with 500 books last night then this morning did not. I see you posted about a debug mode. Doesn't that mean you updated your game on the site after the deadline?
Yes, I fixed a minor bug. The 8,247 players here are more important than the GITD comp. But I did have a non-debug version of the game up here at some point before the deadline, so it's probably ok

Good game, a bit harsh in the beginning, especially due to the lack of tutorial, but it's part of the fun I guess. A preview of the tech tree would be nice to see where we're going to.
For SCHOOL: it costs 20 to send someone to school. So unless you sell something (wood) or do Labour tasks up until you gather 20, the option won't show up.
I'd go for well first, and then school upgrade. The well is necessary to stop your family from dying too soon (until you have it, you lose health every turn).

at the end there should be a sort of credits, were it shows each person (then a little video of them doing some work/job), and a list of their accomplishments near it. I love the music, love the game,I wish there was a sandbox mode. favortied 5/5

Fun little game. As it stands, it's great for during a coffee break, but has enough potential to become far more than that. Keep up the good work!

Amazing game just needs a bit more room, after a while as everyone got old and died i ran out of space which sucked alot

Kevin and Daniel have successfully raised a child. Today Lobster has come of age ? I suppose that for 2 guys with only 1 even going to the house producing Lobster is good effort :)
