i think the conference comittee cooldown might be broken. I played two (on two speperate bills) 2 days ago. Now I can't play a conference comittee on any bill.

This is actually a pretty addicting game T.T I commend all the effort that has been put into it. I further compliment how active the developer and supporting cast members have been. My biggest complaint is....why do I get addicted so easily XD. Great game though!

I'm not one for religion I am an atheist but the majority of the world is not crushing it is boutist and to you people from the USA look it up. also why dus religon deal with polotics. (srry my spelling is horaboul)
This game is about the United States Congress, where the majority of members identify as religious, and many as devoutly religious. The more devoutly religious are not shy about stating that they make policy decisions based on their religion.

Just out of interest why did you put battlestar Galactica characters as Secretary of State, President, Vice-President and Secretary of Defense??
As a joke. Originally it was a far different set of characters that had more to do with the political aspects of the show... but they all got assassinated.

The research comittee seems to have a bug. I got the message that the commiteed bill failed to pass despite of the bill being active!

Also, it would be awesome if there was an inflation dynamic in the game. When salaries go up, campaign contributions and management should yield higher rewards.
If I did that, the amount salaries moved with the passage of the bill would have to go down as the effective increase would be higher across the whole game (and kind of difficult to compute/control).

I read the proposed changes list and you are absolutely right. This game definitely needs Cthulhu. Ia! Ia! Cthulhu fhtagn!

@penguinkirby You can increase you protection level by acting to pass the Congressional Security Binary or the Martial Law Binary. You can also increase it by getting assassinated or assaulted.
There's no way to just increase your own protection level. As lynx correctly stated, you can only increase the base level for everyone by passing the Declare Martial Law or Enact Congressional Security bills. If you aren't low on health from repeatedly overdosing, you don't really have much to fear from a single assassination unless it gets a very lucky roll.

You could call the debt 'deficit' to remove the negative sign. Not sure if it would help ppl understand the value easier.
Public Debt and the National Deficit are two different (but related) things... so I think that would cause even more confusion. Debt is generally notated with a negative sign on financial statements, so I'll leave it how it is. It's mostly just people's confusion at it not being red but being negative. Which is what I wanted people to see... but they didn't exactly interpret it how I wanted them to.
It's the effect caused by budget accounting committee. Once a bill that's had that ability used on it (shown by the [A] tag) passes, it is delayed from affecting the nation as a bill normally would at the end of the day after it passes. Once the budget delay ends, the affected bill will go into effect.

Bug: the poison pill affects bills in budget delay. Not that I wouldn´t like it this time... but it shouldn´t happen, because the bill already passed.
It was changed to alleviate confusion when speaking of the conditions under which debt is bad enough to factor into the weekly check for congress-wide CSP loss. I would always be telling people "well, when a stat is in the red, except debt which will be counted when it's 2:1 or worse with gdp, etc... and then decided it would be easier if I just made the non-standard stats go red when they're bad enough to cause a problem. Hence the white (but still negative) debt.

So, for making it more difficult to get high exponentials on bills, maybe the support granted by a passed committee could multiply as well? +10%, +20%, +40%? That would have the effect of capping multipliers at 32x, and you could only get that through great expenditure of effort.
Not a bad idea. I think the CC cooldown will definitely introduce some sanity to the process, but if it's still not enough I will probably do something like you suggested. It makes sense that repeated conferencing would increase support exponentially.
It's hard to say, but I hope to have it done within a week. I will likely be changing some things to affect national defense/foreign relations today (ie increase/decrease defense spending and other extant bills).

When hovering over traits in viewing a character, can you make a pop-up box show what the traits stand for (similarly to when hovering over equipment)?

Can you make it so public appearances (which cost 50 energy) give more than just 15-20 clout? How about 150-200? That's still not even that much, but it's something to get back off the ground with in case someone loses all the clout that's had from an accident... say... buying an ability too fast or having a bill failed.
Couple things: the amount of clout a public appearance gives varies by the type. Political rallies pay less and give more clout. Corporate fundraisers (you may not see these) pay the best, but give little/no csp/clout. Other thing: you don't need to introduce your own bills to gain clout. Acting on the bills of others and being on the winning side earns a lot of clout as well. Depending on your stats, this can actually be better for gaining clout than passing your own bills.

I gotta' honestly say, this is one of the most underrated games on here! Almost daily updates make this a unique game, with a very caring and efficient developer. Kudos to you, Delosford!!
Thanks for the feedback and support! The game's rating was actually dragged down a while back by trolls that are against all games with any sort of micropurchase system. It's been steadily going back up since, and we're about to hit "top rated" at 3.5 stars. I have little doubt it will continue up from there thanks to input from players like you and the impending release of The Lobby.
People have requested this before, though I'm not really sure how I want to handle it. A real rehab program actually keeps you addicted longer, somewhat ironically. They just give you drugs that manage the withdrawal symptoms. So I might add something where you can pay to have the withdrawals go away, but you'll be addicted longer and if you use during rehab they kick you out. The rehab option may also affect/deal with scandals relating to the drug(s) somehow.

when it says constituent support is at 5% can it actually be lower because it seems to be very hard to increase once it hits 5%
Your election chance can never go below 5%, no matter how low your constituent support is. The description of your support on the status screen will change to something about an angry mob with pitchforks and such when your constituent support goes below -10,000.

The emergence of a group of trolls (Old Crow, Bakemono, PETA, Stephen Colbert) highlights the need for a party to have some way to enforce the majoritary vision on its own members.
Maybe there should be a way to vote out/dissociate/refuse funding from the national committee, which would lead to a large loss loss of CS.
I'm not arguing for the ban of this group of people, quite the opposite, they make the game more interesting, but we should have a way to deal with it.
You already do have many ways to deal with it. When I see an x64 bill with no opposition and every time they put something in committee it's 8 votes to double and 1 or 2 to halve... I just don't see a need to implement new features to stop them. People already aren't using the options available to them. The fact that everyone managed to let that bill through is frankly kind of hilarious. It's not easy to pass something that everyone is against.

I just started playing (finished the first bill), but now I'm locked out, The message sais "The developer has locked you out of the game. You likely got a couple warnings before this happened. You were probably multiboxing. If you feel your punishment is in error, contact the developer through the Facebook page or Kongregate PMs." I don't use multiple accounts and i received no warning. somebody please help me
Well, you previously shared an IP with another user within minutes of their login, but it appears that you no longer do. This may have been some kind of coincidence. I've unlocked your account.

if constituent support falls really REALLY low your constituents should personally murder you... would be great to see it on the daily clout

Q: I doubt that's his plan
Oh not a conspiray therory after all huh Q?
Apparently he just wanted the achievement for it, and didn't expect it to pass. Frankly I'm surprised they've done even this good of a job of propping it up considering how hard I made win bills.

delos, but the vice president doesnt instantly move up to president, the president becomes "DECEASED" until either you bother to fiddle with it or a certain time(not sure which), so what happens if the vice president dies before moving up to president?
Simply because I hadn't yet updated the game to reflect succession shouldn't be taken to mean that it hasn't actually happened yet. In technicality, it happens immediately.
Intensify makes all abilities played for either side much stronger for a short duration. Split takes a large amount of support from the bill, but spawns a bunch of random self-healing bills of the same party as the win condition.
