A Bomber2 will need to hit 4 targets to match the DPS of a single Hunter. Definitely use Holy Protection for bosses if possible, but when doing so do NOT use other powers (unless H.P. will wear off and the boss isn't dead yet). You want to prolong battle to cool off your abilities! From top to bottom, left to right, I used: 6 Monk, 4 Bomber2, 1 FireMage3, 1 Exorcist2, 14 Hunters, 4 Axemen.

What's with all this negativity? I get that the game has weaknesses I agree with, that already have been mentioned. However, I find it enjoyable and it's by far not the worst offender out there.

Money problem solved, start with this: 1)Save some money to where you could buy 2 units, note starting cash. 2)buy units till you are out of money. 3)go back to main screen. 4)refresh the game. 5)Go to castle again, money is restored to step 1. 6) Now spin before starting new battle. 7) Sell lower level units and replace repeating steps above. 8)Rinse and repeat each level. Now you have no money issues, it will just keep building as you progress.

For those who just want the badge:
Once you got the savefile issue fixed, there's a bug that allows you to buy units and keep your money. Simply spend your gold however you want, exit the castle and go to world map. Close the game and come back. Voila, units are still there but gold has been reset to the previous value.

Yeah sure, I'll just grind for 3 hours and then lose my save the next day, no biggie... What's this, spin the wheel? OH BOY GAMBLING!

Why can't people come up with just ONE compelling gameplay mechanic to carry a GAME. You click, and you wait. This and that holydays reloaded game can sick a duck.

Artifacts must be random bc I was missing 4 after completing the game. I did not find the game as grindy as some have said.

so i just rolled and got 75 gold even though the arrow was more on the 100 than the 75 and it was really easy to see the difference of what i should've got vs what i did get.

An amazing concept that fails so hard in it's execution that the frustration of this game drove all the fun away. You get so little money that you can't really experiment and play around with different builds. The game almost forces you into a single build anyways so you end up just using Ivanchusiki's build. The artifact bonuses are so minimal that it feels like they only help give you a tiny edge. You fail so much in this game that you end up just bashing your face against a stage you can't beat until you slowly build up enough money to change your army one unit at a time. Really this game could be so easily fixed. Just give out more money and you're able to play around with your army and it's super fun then.

A tip for people who don't want to wait: (most?) skills can be selected and won't actually trigger until your people meet enemies, so you can just click them all and go to do something else for a while. Won't be as effective as using them tactically, but at least they'll do something without requiring you to try to stay awake watching the game.

Contrary to some posts here Grinding is not really that much of an issue. If you need to grind excessively, you propably are using the wrong strategy. Even though I had to replay quite a few levels (especially the last 2), It was more an issue of finding the right orer to use the spells than wanting to upgrade my troops.
You do not have to upgrade everybody asap. It is usually better to wait until you maxed out your positions. And Bombs are very effective. And putting monks last is stupid, since they only contribute if enough other fighters survive. And Using all melee in the first column is worthwile! They won't attack, but they still act as meat-shield.

having read the comments, it seems like everyone's either "game bad, feck game!" or "game good, look at pretty game". i'd say the truth's somewhere in the middle. i mean, the grinding is not excessive, but it's there nonetheless. what makes it annoying is the extremely slow pace. slap a 2x 4x button on it, and it becomes a more than decent game.

For all the negative comments, I must say that I enjoyed the game! I would even play it again, so that's a thumbs up from me.

It is not the excruciatingly slow pace that did it. It's the fact that I constantly get NO rewards from the lottery after waiting the thing spin so so long time. I really would like to give it a 2/5, but that thing made me made up my mind. With some major improvements, this game can easily get a 3/5 or maybe even 4/5. 5/5 is stretching a bit though. It is not that good, even without the problems. It's got potential, too bad the poor implementation ruined it. 1/5

The key to win is to have 5-6 monks, then your protection spell could last long enough for one wave. Keep only 4 melee at the front row, put on a few bombers, then the rest archers. Use protection at wave 1/3/5, and the rest at wave 2/4.

All those people saying its grindy just need to stop being bad at the game.
I had to repeat maybe 6 levels total. I used a strong front row, a bunch of archers, a sprinkling of mages, a bomber or two and a lot of monks. Start the first round with the protection spell and save the others for later rounds.

I liked the game a lot! I would love to see some descriptions on what each spell does (if there is a way, I didn't see it). There's really not much grinding, since most battles can be won on the first attempt. Well done!

Can't buy anything even though I have way more than enough gold. matches take too long. Grindy. This game has quite a few bugs and issues that make it very unfriendly to the player.

Great concept but so many easy things that could make this game better. Play is too slow, too grindy, and it froze in middle of play and I had to start all the way over!

Really guys? I think I had defeat screen 3-4 times and I bet this game could be beaten with only victories. Difficulty curve is perfect.
Don't hate the dev for making game worth playing that challenges you
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I don't understand why there are so many negative comments. Game is well paced (key to victory is proper build of your squad and strategic usage of abilities). There are some problems of course. 1. You can't replay stages already beaten. 2. artifact drop/spin rate is very low. I have beaten the game and I still miss 3 of them. Either there was ninja update during the weekend which fixed most of the problems in comments or players are too picky these days :P

Unfortunately I can't rate games on what they could be. Toning down the grind, speed up buttons, actual stats on everything a unit does, wasted keys, and any replayability. An update doesn't seem to be in sight either. There are more improvements that could be made, but I think the ones listed would turn this game from tedious to entertaining at least. Honestly looks like it begun as a mobile game with all the mobile friendly design to it. That would explain the heavy grind because microtransactions would fill the gap. That's just a suspicion though.
