Description

ffShmup is a musical arcade shooter made with Flixel for the Project Eden contest. At the last minute. In like one day. Whew.

It's got a lot in common with "foggy fields":http://www.kongregate.com/games/devwil/foggy-fields-play-create-listen (hence the name ffShmup), but it's a bit more of a typical shooter experience.

That's not to say that it's a typical shooter experience, however...

How to Play

Use the mouse to move your cursor left and right. Press (and hold) the left mouse button to fire. Use the F key to toggle the style of shooting audio.

When you shoot an incoming object, it will turn red and explode into song on the next beat (visually indicated by the lines on the screen). If more than one note explodes at the same time, you get a Chord Bonus multiplier!

Chord Bonus multipliers also restore your health if you've been hit by the objects dropping down the screen.

I like this game, as Keyblademaster13 said [Although I don't think he was using a nice tone, perhaps?] it's not too challenging. I, in fact, really enjoy the music and, yes, hearing the notes you hit -can- get boring but the actual music is quite nice. I don't think it needs a shop or upgrades and I think people who want that should play Upgrade Complete; otherwise, nice game and happy gaming everyone else.

The screen needs to be bigger and better, needs to have a shop with some upgrades and it would be just fine. 3/5

This is a nice game, basic shooter with ok graphics and the sound gets boring and stuck in your head, and the notes are annoying.Could use a shop screen with upgrades (maybe a different background music) and a bigger screen, and maybe different enemies that make different sounds. Has some potential in the future. 3/5
