I'm sorry, I can't bring myself to play this game. The shoddy--Yes, I said shoddy-- combat system, the ridiculous system of using 'bait' to lure out NPC opponents, the recharging energy system... If you're going to make a game that uses recharging energy system, at least make it different from the thousands of other games out there.

The need for blood pearls for the most basic hunting, is kind of redundant with the energy cost. It's an annoyance I would be happy to see gone.

In the Wiki it says that players who initiate a PvP fight get their 2 VPs refunded if they win - but they don't. Thus, attacking someone two levels lower is pointless, as it awards no victory points.

Actually if there was a "Auto +Quickheal" option that would be awesome. Sometimes I forget to heal myself and lose the battle.

I'm playing this awesome game for 5 or 6 days. I can give 5/5 star to this game. And... Donate items are cool. Maybe too powerful... but at low levels I think. I searched wiki and there were a lot of items that you can craft and they were not "low/crap". I didn't pay anything(maybe I can soon) to this game and I'm kicking a** in pvp and its fun. Just play dudes, just play. Yes donors can kick ur a** but just think it like that; you and your team are working without sleeping. You are drawing characters, designing and scripting all the time. Atlast you made a game for people and its free to play. BUT you have to gain some $$$ right? You didnt made this game for your dad's good. And people won't donate anything for nothing. Of course they have to get some "cool" things for reward. So, just play. IN EVERYGAME, DONORS KICKING A**. Not just in this game. And sorry for my english. Love you guys.

@alien#s the CoB wiki has a vast amount of information added by mods, Ops and the community. You can find most of the info there. As for outdated items, it's usually better to keep them; otherwise, to get rid of it you "Disenchant the item" for blood rubies (not recommended for uncommon/ rare loot)

Just started playing, and it seems like a good game so far. Only peeve I have with it is that the game window should be resized to fit the browser window, adding a scroll bar would facilitate things.

I went through and read all the down rated comments.. And what I figured out is a majority of the negative comments seem to be from people who have a -lot- more experience with the game then they're letting on. I mean, most sound jaded, as if they use to play and quit for some reason or another... If I'm a 'fanboy' (Granted I just started the game a few days ago when it started on kong and I do in fact enjoy it) what does that make you at the complete opposite of the spectrum? You don't have to donate to have a blast in the game, I come back multiple times a day to use up my blood lust. I don't understand why the game has received such a negative reception here at kong... Because it's from facebook and accepts donations for gear? That can't be the only reason.

the one thing I can't find is a sell items spot. being able to sell old outdated items would be nice. otherwise good game, the only other thing is a small description with each power would be nice too

Of course people will whine when they see donation items in the game. Want to know why? Because this is Kongregate. People go here to play FREE GAMES! Most of the developers here expects revenue through the tip jar and through the adds. Not in game purchases. And FWIW, diviad already had a reputation of being greedy about donations in it's own forum. Is it just a coincidence that the same reputation is building up here. I don't think so.
Now i know that this comment will probably be downvoted. How do i know? Because real Kong players won't bother with this game, thus won't have the chance to read my comment, thus won't have the chance to upvote it. Only fanboys bother with the game anyway. Fanboys who keeps downvoting every negative comments towards the game.

@Handsomee - How long did you play? 10 minutes? I've only been playing for a couple days, both here and on FB. And the only issue I have with the game is the BL regen in the beginning. But I've already gotten items that raise my max BL. In only a couple days! I'm not even lvl 10 yet, here or on FB, and my max BL is 330 and I haven't even -thought- about donating O.o You should play a little longer before you make any judgments about long-term games.

The playerbase is friendly, the guilds are helpful, the time per BL in the start is frustrating but manageable with craftable items and later in lvls not an issue at all. Overall I give this game a 4/5. Would be 5/5 is BL in the beginning wasn't so frustrating.

@The rest who whine about paying to play: have YOU looked at the stores? Yes there is a donation page, but there's also a merchant in every region (10), a crafter in every region, loot from every region and world-wide shops (caroline, battlemaster etc). You DO NOT have to pay anything to play, I'm lv77 been playing since day2 of release and I know MANY who have NOT PAID and are lv100 (the current lv cap).

@vampwhisper please don't judge the game before getting information about it. No artwork is stolen, there are original graphic artists that do work for the game and have their own signatures on the artwork! There are better games if you just want to kill something and fight to the death. But those are short-term games, this is a long term game where you have to put a lot of devotion and effort to get good into the game. The kongregate version is modded slightly, so it's not as good as it could be. If you want to play the full version (I haven't played this version so idk if this has everything), intended for regular game-play go to the facebook version.

This game is 90% about real money and donating, 10% about skill, RPG and PvP. The whole competition in PvP and PvE is about who has the more real money. I know these games have to earn cash for better development, but this is going too far in this game. In My idea, This game doesn't deserve to be on Kongregate...

I've never understood these games. I've never seen how they're fun if they don't give you a lot of energy, and a good story to go with it. There's much better games to play if you just want to kill something, and something that fights to the death.
The art is stolen too. They use art made for V:TM- Bloodlines, which is based off White Wolf's table top game that they used to make the game. That has pay elements in it apparently...

@Akuen, anything in the store you can farm for the gems to buy. Stick with blood pearls and you can get blood rubies to turn into blood diamonds to turn into blood sapphires, you can get drops that you can disenchant for blood rubies as well. Even the quests that have an item drop, you can do the quest, disenchant it, repeat the quest. Also there is the Prey for Blood option under the Hunting Ground, you can get blood rubies there or blood geckos that you can disenchant. Boss summoning items can be disenchanted as well for blood rubies or you can just fight the boss and usually get blood rubies too.
Everything in the store can be bought without having to donate if you're willing to work for it.

@Misaky, if you look at the wiki it'll state it COSTS 2VP to INITIATE a battle, losses give 1VP back, so you lose 1 VP. Wins is VP-2, you can also see this everytime you fight a PvP battle. Avatar wars means you get 2x the VP (iirc)

i dont understand how the VP we get from PVP works.
if i lose a battle it says i win 1VP, but i go check my VP and it happens that i lose 1VP.
if i win a battle against someone from avatar wars, it says i win 8VP, but i go check it, and my VP only goes up by 5!
is this a bug or am i missing something?

Old timers have it much easier starting a new game here because we know where to go and what to aim for. But every one of us started from the beginning at some point and we also struggled as a newbie. Don't expect to jump in and master everything within a few clicks. The in-game tutorial does not teach anything beyond interface layout. You need the forum as your guide. Ask the veteran too, they are more than glad to help.
CoB is at heart a grinding game. Even at max level we still have to work at leveling up our powers or searching for that one ingredient to craft our item. If you have the patience and an interest in RPG, don't miss out on this rough diamond that's constantly being polished by the devs.

Game is kind of meh; as a beginner it sucks that the tutorial is kind of a joke, and you're mostly left to figure things out on your own or read the forums to get some bearings. The interface is not very intuitive, though stuff is generally easy to get to once you know where it is. One example is you can click "switch" in the my vampire screen to switch out your already equipped power for a new one, but you have to go to the inventory menu to equip a new power in your unused power slot. Getting past this, the game has one or two nice ideas but generally feels really lacking in content (i.e. stuff to do), especially since your energy runs out so quickly. 2/5 for the game; I'll make that 1/5 since every negative comment is being censored by either fanboys or the likely even the devs.

I've been playing this game for a year and a half on another platform. I would like it to give me a little more room to role play--some of the actions you take (like the "prey for blood" feature, do not allow any choices--it's evil or nothing: booo!). Other than that, it's a great combination of tinkering to perfect your player and occasional clicking to kill of few monsters and get some loot!
